Little Hickory Top - Mountain Side Modern Cabin

Welcome to Little Hickory Top Cabin. Named after the mountain it overlooks, this modern cabin is perched on a ridge facing Bent Creek Experimental Forest. Convenient location offers easy access to all that Asheville has to offer. Find rest and recharge with beautiful views from every room, and a great deck to grill from.

This modern cabin is warm and welcoming with beautiful features throughout, including large timber framed ceilings and stairs. The home is three stories with a common area on the main floor and bedrooms on the upper and lower. It is EcoStar certified and was featured in the 2020 Asheville Parade of Homes!

The home is located in a quite cove behind Bent Creek Experimental Forest and Enka Lake. There is access into the forest less than a mile away while still convenient to the city. 20 minutes to downtown Asheville, Biltmore Estate, and the main entrance to Bent Creek. 30 Minutes from the Airport and Sierra Nevada. If you enjoy mountain biking and want to explore some classic Pisgah loops you are 40 minutes from the entrance to the Ranger District.

The easiest way to get around is by car, the home is located in a mountain side neighborhood with paved roads and drive way, accessible by any vehicle. The roads and drive way are steep so please take extra precaution in inclement weather or at night.

For those interested in working remote or needing connectivity the home has 400Mbps cable internet service and a Orbi Mesh router to ensure good WiFi throughout the house. Cell signal is also great, with LTE and 5G on both Verizon and T-Mobile.

If you are bringing little ones we have a pack n play (with sheets), baby gates, kids dinnerware, and a baby/toddler carrier hiking backpack! We have three young kids so if you need anything in advance let us know!

We want to be great stewards of the home and neighborhood. Please be respectful while driving to the cabin, drive slow in the neighborhood (15mph!) and watch for pedestrians, kids, and pets. Please no partying or loud noise at any time during your stay.

We had a great vacation here. Very nice, modern house. Clean and well stocked. Outside was secluded and lots of opportunities to see wildlife. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at Becca and Austin's wonderful home while we attended the inaugural Biltmore Championship Asheville. Our family of three had more than enough space indoors and out to enjoy our stay. The house was exactly as described and immaculate which we really appreciated. The secluded location was lovely and relaxing with a beautiful view. We enjoyed our visits from the many deer that walked around the property. The firepit was very relaxing each evening. Communication was great with the owners. The driveway was steep as the owners explained in their description on VRBO. We quickly managed to get up and down the driveway with no issues. We would love to stay at their home again if we ever make it back to Ashville. Thank you Becca and Austin for sharing your beautiful home with our family.

This was a great property. Easy access to hiking and mountain biking. Clean, spacious, and had all the amenities and more we could want. There was a steep driveway that could be challenging in winter but more than accessible in dry conditions.

Beautiful home and great stay! We’ve stayed in a lot of vacation rentals and this home is one of the top houses we’ve stayed at. We really appreciated that all windows had curtains or blinds, being from the city it’s weird to feel exposed without them at night. It’s a great property, quiet and secluded but not far away from town. There were neighbor dogs barking late at night but our sound machine drowned them out. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back. The driveway is an experience, we have 360 cams on our car and that was a huge help!

Little Hickory Top

Had an amazing stay with my wife. We thoroughly enjoyed the views off the back porch and the seclusiveness yet close enough to Asheville to enjoy the area. Would highly recommend to stay here. We will definitely be back again.

Beautiful, Stylish, Immaculate AND an amazing view!

Gorgeous modern vibe mountain home close to all of the Asheville activities. It’s almost too luxurious to be a vacation rental! This is the cleanest Vrbo we have ever stayed in. The owners have made sure that their guests enjoy their stay.

Perfect private mountain getaway!

The house is new and very nicely maintained. Beautiful views and very private. Bedrooms are at the basement level and 2nd floor level which provides plenty of privacy. Highly recommend!!

Great stay in Candler

The property was very nice. Very clean and new, and extremely well outfitted for our family. We had a great couple of nights - would have liked to have stayed longer. We loved Asheville. There is great hiking, eating and gallery visiting. We will be back to the area.

Perfect for a weekend getaway. Kitchen had everything I needed to cook. Hammock was perfect for relaxing and reading. The protest was clean, up to date, and had the most amazing view of any property we’ve ever stayed in. Would love to travel back

Hi from the mountains of North Carolina near Asheville where we live and play with our three kids; Hayley, Graham, and Colin. Becca is a CPA turned stay at home mom and Austin is a mechanical engineer. We enjoy hiking, mountain biking, camping! As tourists we love to explore new areas and experience the outdoors, as hosts we welcome you to our city and share what we love about Asheville and why we call it home.

Many years ago we honeymooned in Asheville and never wanted to leave! About a year afterwards we packed everything and headed back to the mountains to build our future and raise a family. We have always dreamed of sharing homes as hosts and now have three places in the Asheville area. Becca and I share the account and will be your contacts during your stay! These are our homes and we take great pride in them, their cleanliness, and making sure you have a great stay. We are relatively new to the VRBO platform but are established super hosts on AirBnB with a 5 star rating from our guests!

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

We love this cabin because its tucked back in Reeves Cove overlooking one of our favorite places, Bent Creek. Its close to town and everything you need but you feel far away. The cove makes it very quiet and an awesome place to just sit on the deck, relax, and enjoy the view. We also love the energy efficiency and style of the home. The combination of ecopanel construction and timber frame is cozy and environmentally conscious.

We live just 15 minutes from the house and are typically available to help if you were to have any issues, provided we aren't traveling ourselves :).
