Nestled on the stunning Mississippi River bluffs just 15 miles north of Prairie du Chien, this cozy cottage offers the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Whether you're looking to explore the great outdoors or unwind in comfort, "The Hygge Hideaway" has it all.

Start your mornings with coffee in the multi-level yard, where you’ll find quiet spots to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding bluffs. Just a 3-minute walk brings you to the Mississippi River, and you’re only a short drive from the Lynxville Dam and several convenient boat launches—perfect for fishing, boating, or simply soaking in the river’s beauty.

Inside, you’ll find a fully furnished retreat designed for comfort and fun. Enjoy:
Soft bedding and linens for a restful sleep.
A fully stocked kitchen for your culinary adventures.
High-speed internet for staying connected, streaming your favorite shows or planning your day.
Games, movies, and a vintage record player for cozy evenings in.

Peaceful location with beautiful views

Beautiful property built into the bluffs of the driftless region of Wisconsin. Very cute towns nearby. Loved the record player!

Great Weekend Getaway Spot!

This is a great spot for a weekend getaway! It has a cozy little cabin feel to it! It was very clean and easy to access. The hosts are wonderful and make it easy to check in and out! The neighborhood is quiet and quaint! We absolutely loved it and would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!

Simple & Relaxing

The cottage was very clean and tidy when we arrived making it very peaceful. We loved the short walk to the river where we took the dog everyday. We loved the outdoor space and would have loved to utilize it more had the weather been nicer. The host was also great to work with. Communication was always timely and kind.

Beautiful piece of calm @ the Hygge Hideaway!

Met a friend for Christmas baking-palooza the weekend before Christmas @ the Hygge Hideaway…it provided everything we needed for our baking marathon, and then some…what a beautiful location overlooking the mighty Mississippi River and what a peaceful & cozy cottage this is! Communications with the host were always easy & quick, and they were accommodating to our needs. We will definitely return to this hideaway, which sits halfway between the miles that separate us, and look forward to new memories each time we visit! Thanks, Wendy!

Sweet, inspiring place to stay

My husband and I, and our pup stayed two nights for my birthday weekend. Wow - what a sweet, beautiful and inspiring place to stay. Everything you need and then some is provided, many thoughtful extra touches that really made a difference. Unique rock collections are my jam - looking through those was so fun. Thank you for being a part of such a great weekend getaway! Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Bluffing at Hygge Hideaway

We loved our stay at this property! It was perfect for us and our dog. Nice view of the river, yet far enough away from the river-adjacent train tracks. The cottage was modern, very comfortable, and had a lot of thoughtful ammentities. The hosts were quick to respond to any inquiries. We enjoyed exploring the many natural wonders of the area. We look forward to visiting again.

Cute cabin by the Mississippi

The Hideaway was perfect for our anniversary excursion. It's close to state parks and there are a variety of restaurants in the area. The property is clean, modern, and so cute! We loved the fire pit area outside. The bed was very comfortable and huge! Wendy was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Definitely recommend!

Lovely place

We loved our stay at the Hideaway! Really nice little place for my wife and me to get away. We watched a beautiful sunset out by the Mississippi River which is right at the end of the street. Close enough to lots of other fun places to see and things to do.
