Perfect location -safe for families

Property was as described. Great view of pool. Owner provided arrival snack.Be sure to bring shampoo/conditioner as there are no minis provided. There were only two towels in each bathroom so you will need to wash in the provided washer/dryer for multi day use. Lots of eateries located right outside the door. Would stay again

Very convenient location

We enjoyed our stay. The location was great for downtown venues, restaurants and bars. Unit was clean and had everything we needed.

Needs thorough cleaning

Upon arrival, could not access lockbox because code was different than what was sent from owner so that put us in a frenzy to start with. Next, upon walking into unit, we quickly discovered that the property had not been cleaned at all other than beds made and towels set out. Partial rolls of toilet paper left, no garbage bag, pubic hairs on floor all over bathroom and in sink. Food all over stove, in garbage can. I immediately sent pics to owner and she offered for cleaners to come back in the morning. At this point, I had already started cleaning so I told her this and that I would just like to be compensated for it not being cleaned. She didn’t respond until the next day when I text her to let her know that I had to wash both sets of sheets at 10:00 the night before (shame on me for next checking when I realized how filthy the house is). At this point, she tells me she can contact VRBO to see if they can put me in another unit. Mind you, I’m an hour away watching my son play baseball. I told her that after I cleaned the apartment myself, I felt comfortable enough to stay and not have to repack and relocate to who knows where so she offered to refund the cleaning fee. I guess this was fair but I just want everyone to be aware that this property needs a thorough deep cleaning as well as a regular cleaning before the next guest shows up. I sent lots of pics to owner. I’ve stayed in plenty of VRBO’s, bnb, and hotels and never walked into one so filthy.

Great location

Stayed here for the weekend as we enjoyed the Inday car race at Barber motor sports. Location was great. Easy to walk out an find bars /restauants. Place was clean and host was very proactive with communication and responsive to quetions.

Close to UAB

I needed a place within walking distance of the UAB campus. My daily walk was less than 15 minutes. The area was close to multiple restaurants and a Publix grocery store. Veronica and I texted when I needed assistance. Their parking garage was helpful. I would return here if we are scheduled for more medical appointments at UAB.

Good location

Property is as described and the host is super responsive. A couple of minor items; i think the carpets and rugs should be cleaned. The hallway to the unit has a strong odor of Marijuana but overall its a good place to stay and the location is close to everything.

Great Location and Close to UAB

Veronica is really a great host. Very responsive and helpful. Condo is very close to UAB which was also great. Highly recommend staying here.

Good stay

We enjoyed our stay. We were initially disappointed in the amount of supplies on hand for our week stay… not enough toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, dish soap. The owner immediately reacted to our concerns and brought to us. The kitchen lacks overall cooking supplies but we made do. I see this was commented in prior reviews.

Great location, awesome pool!

Absolutely loved the property. The condo was very accessible to the Sloss Furnaces. We would love to stay here again next year!

Wonderful owner.. Horrible Property Management

The unit was exactly as listed on the inside. The owner was quick to answer any questions. She was kind and I would’ve recommended the unit. EXCEPT, the property is FILTHY. The management company walks past garbage piling up. It is the heat of summer. The smell of rotting garbage is horrific with bugs flying around it. The pool area had dirty clothes, old towels, popped rafts laying around all week. The parking lot is listed as gated, the gate was broken. Leaving the garage open to anyone. The 2nd floor door into the building was not locked. Again anyone off the street could enter the property . Leaving the once gated community, ungated. It is very sad to see a once nice property, unsafe, and filthy. The units are all nice inside if you can get past the garage scent.

Location

The most important thing for us was proximity to UAB Hospital system. The location was perfect to UAB medical complex, less than two blocks to Publix, plenty of places to eat nearby.

The unit couldnt have been inspected after the last tenant. There was dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Lipstick was on one of the glasses...still towels in the dryer...i folded them...the floor was dirty...i had to sweep the floors but the floors needed moping...i kept my shoes on...hair in the bathrooms...screws coming out of the dining chairs...

READ this before you book this place

1st, the lockbox was not where the instructions said they would be, owner (who isn't really an owner, she rents the place and sublets on VRBO) blamed it on VRBO. 2nd, there are NO carts or anything to help you with luggage and unit is very far from parking area. 3rd, the HVAC broke on day 2 of our 5 day stay, we immediately reported it, it was NEVER fixed. The owner/tenant offered to give us 1 night credit as compensation, that was insulting, then on the last day she offered to pay for us a hotel on Saturday night that costs no more than what I was paying per night there. 4th, the kitchen is poorly equipped please don't plan on cooking here! The range hood above the old range doesn't work. The hot and cold are reversed in the bathtub, the ceiling fans make lots of noise and one is missing a globe. There were also hairs in the bathtub. Neither of the beds have mattress covers and the sheets fit poorly and come off while sleeping. This place has a great location but too many problems for us to recommend to anyone. It is best to rent from an OWNER, not a tenant who has no control over apartment complex maintenance.

Much better than a hotel

Overall very easy access and parking with Publix and plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Convenient short distance to downtown area including Alabama and Lyric theatres. Can walk downtown if you don't mind a short hike.

Comfy, cozy & well appointed

What a great place to stay in Birmingham! The living area is open yet cozy, with a large, very comfortable L-shaped sofa. The bedrooms featured beds that were incredibly snuggly. I like to clean and so does this host who had plenty of cleaning products in the bathrooms & .kitchen. The host was also an incredibly responsive communicator. The garage is gated and secure, the entries are gated, and there’s also an enclosed dog walk area “Bark Park.” Publix is one block south and the restaurant on the southwest corner of the property, Pies & Pints, is wonderful. This was simply a fabulous place to stay.
