Nostalgic sums this home up in one word. The house was a perfect fit for our group of six. It was nestled in the middle of working farms and was beautiful. The home was spotless and open, making it a perfect place for our mixed aged group from toddler to adults. The house was furnished in a combination of the modern and the vintage, with the important part of each being where it needed to be. The beds were clean and comfortable.
My caveats are limited and only to make sure your stay is as comfortable as mine. The windows have standard curtains and in the main living area they are none. Not an issue if light doesn’t bother while sleeping in. Also this is farm and horse country so flying bugs and spiders are to be expected. Being in the country it is dark at night. Again nothing major unless one of those things are just a no go for you.
The only thing I would change is the dining recommendations in the book. Everyone listed is great, but they left out the only remaining Jerry’s in Paris. While the dinners aren’t equal to the Merreck Inn, the breakfast is on par with any. With the nostalgic theme of this home it just fits.
