We loved our time in this rental! Location! Location! Location! The views were amazing! We watched sea otters & seals from the living room! There were a few minor issues but the host responded very quickly. We enjoyed the quaint, friendly community. Also, loved the restaurant & grounds at Ragged Point. Finally, we all enjoyed the tour of Hearst Castle. We live in KS. Hopefully, someday we can return to this beautiful place! PS We could hear the renters next door through the sliding divider. But it was a small issue compared to the wonderful vacation home on the beach.

Knives were extremely dull. Need new knives or sharpen what you have. Bathroom and Kitchen floor was dirty/grimy …. Probably to be expected at end of summer. The view and sound of the waves were spectacular!! I would rent again, just for that! It would have been nice to have body wash and shampoo provided. We had to buy more toilet paper. Could not find garbage bags. Check your outlets. Many did not charge our devices. Safety issue in shower/bath. Need grip strips or bath mat.

Amazing views and great location! Everything was clean and well-appointed. We had a slight issue with ants, which was unexpected but not too troublesome. It was a little odd being able to hear our neighbors so clearly through the separating/removable wall of the duplex, which I didn't quite realize was the situation when I booked. We would definitely book this location again if our group was 5 or fewer, but the bathroom situation might be tough for more than that many adults.

We had a wonderful stay at this home. The views from the windows are amazing. We had beautiful days and sunsets.

1 star if you have neighbors, 3 if you don’t. The photos show the sliding door that separates the two units. Unfortunately, there is no soundproofing on that sliding door so if you have neighbors it is extremely loud. The neighbors weren’t even loud, it’s just the nature of having one thin piece of wood separating the units. We heard their tv, their forks clinking on their plates at dinner time, their sneezes in the morning, and all of their conversations. It makes no sense why when they converted this house to a duplex that they didn’t just build a proper wall with insulation. We happened to be there during a heatwave and since there is no AC, some fans would’ve been nice. The bathroom also smelled like mildew. I imagine it’s not uncommon being right by the ocean but it still smelled bad. A couple of things that are misleading from the photos. The outdoor area in front of the house is so overgrown that it is not usable. And the beach is only accessible at really low tide. Other than that it is a cute, old house that felt pretty clean and easy ten minute walk to the restaurants and downtown area.

Hello Chelsea, thank you for taking the time to write your review. We do include verbiage in the listing about there being a shared wall between the units that can also be opened up. "Important: This property is a duplex with 2 separate and self-contained homes that share a wall. In some cases you may be able to hear the guests in the adjoining unit." Because it is a wall that slides, it is not as soundproof or thick as a normal wall, but we do our best to make that clear in the listing - however, we are sorry that the noise bothered you and understand that it disturbed your stay. As for the heatwave, they are very rare for us, but if you had requested fans from us, we would have been happy to bring them over for you, we do keep a few on hand for situations like that. We appreciate you letting us know about the bathroom and also the yard being a little overgrown, we will be getting that addressed. We do also mention that the house does not have direct beach access, luckily there are stairs very close by; however, we cannot control the tides and are sorry that it was high tide during your stay. We hope you were able to enjoy the beautiful view and your time in Cayucos!

Awesome Location

Stay and weather was great. Everything about the property is great. The only drawback is that it is a side by side duplex and you can hear the other renters very easily

Amazing view with all the amenities

We loved staying in this duplex! The view is incredible and being able to hear the ocean is so soothing. This place had everything you could think of for renters -- very thoughtful and thorough.

Best View ever

Beautiful home the Yard work needed to be done But It didn't take away from this home The view was all you could want with the house over looking the ocean and a short walk to It Would go again anytime

Amazing Ocean-side Property

The photos do not do this house justice. The ocean view was absolutely spectacular. An absolute 5 star rating in every way. Clean, comfortable, close to town and unmatched ocean views. This place was the best VRBO we ever rented! It was expensive, but absolutely worth it. Fabulous memories to last a lifetime.

Such a beautiful place to stay. We loved it. It is really easy to hear the neighbors so you take a chance on that but it’s so beautiful it’s worth taking the chance. Would rent it again.

Awesome house in front of the sea

One of a kind house that is situated in front of the sea, without any road in front of it. You can have breakfast while looking at the waves. You can even go outside to have coffee in front of the beach in a little patio. When tide is low, you have direct access to the beach. Really special.One thing to note is that there is a single full bathroom in the unit. Not a problem for 4 people but could be more challenging for a bigger group.
