We had the best time at the Surf Shack! The views were impeccable! The surf was just a few steps away! The hot outdoor shower after surfing was divine! The swivel chair and a halfs were so comfy to watch the action from the house. The appliances were all amazing! The beds were lovely. Love every detail about the upstairs abode. We did not want to leave! We enjoyed the firepits and the stargazing from the round daybed. 10/10! Hope to be back again soon!

Everything at this house is perfection and we enjoyed our second stay here as much as the first. Everything provided in the home feels comfortable and inviting, and the proximity to Cayucos pier and Morro Bay can't be beat. The beach access, and the beauty of the home will keep us coming back each year.

Fantastic Stay

You can't beat the location and the property itself. The view from the house is amazing and was perfect to relax with the family with a view of the ocean.

Breathtaking views and well appointed appliances furnishings and custom work finishes with a submarine 2000 leagues under the sea vibe the upstairs bedroom and bathroom are luxurious and the entire home is thoughtfully designed to inspire your focus on the beckoning beach. The 2 firepits made morning coffee and sunsets warm and cozy. A dreamy getaway would love to return with my family.

Fabulous home on the water.

This home is in perfect condition, in a fabulous location, with lots of amenities. Had lots of fun paying foosball and walking the beach.

PCH Trip stop

Awesome beachfront spot. House is well appointed and very unique. We loved it!! Stopped here as a chill stay on our PCH trip. Cayucos & Cambria are sleepy surf towns 30 minutes from Hearst Castle. Highly recommend the Surf Shack

Beachfront Perfection

We loved the direct beachfront access (with miles of beach to walk on in either direction). Fabulous sunsets. Quiet beach, with lots of walkers and dogs. Great kitchen, well stocked with quality cookware and new BBQ grill. Easy access to Morrow Bay and Cayucus shops/restaurants (drive, not walk), and to lots of hiking, SLO, etc.

Late summer heat escape

We stayed at the SurfShack for a late summer heat escape. The whole house is just as pictured~ the views even better! Easy access down to the beach which has plenty of space, even during high tides. We watched the Perseid meteor showers from the decks, with comphy chairs and gas fire pits to keep warm. The kitchen had everything we needed. We look forward to staying here again.

The best week ever!

This property was the perfect location for a family vacation with our kids and grandparents. We came to Cayucos to get married and enjoy the week together. This house provided the space needed for a big family and the private suite upstairs for my husband and I yo enjoy time alone away from the kids. The beach access and view was everything. This was the most incredible week!

A very fun vacation

We loved the house and location. It is very well equipped in all areas. We even put some puzzles together. The only thing that wasn’t good for us was the bunk beds. Two of our family members are 6’8” so that wasn’t the best. Overall the house was excellent and we had a very fun week

Any Beach Day is a Good Day

I mean, down the stairs and you're on the beach - that's amazing enough, but the decor details put into this gorgeous Surf Shack make this listing a standout. The upstairs master suite/deck and fire pit was a refuge when we wanted to get away from the young adults. The fireplace made for several cozy nights playing cards with the family while a Pineapple Express brought wind and rain outside. Weather permitting, we enjoyed gathering on the lower deck around the fire pit, doing some stargazing. The soothing ocean sounds fill the background noises completely, and I haven't slept so well in months. (The master suite bed was super comfy). One of our couples ended up with the bunk beds room but they were cool with it. That was the only minor drawback for us as a group of 3 married couples, but if you have kids, that room is pretty sweet. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for the memories, Surf Shack.

Surf Shack

The location is wonderful. Upon unpacking the food we brought for a week we realized there was no where to put it. The storage is not great. If you enjoy having a tv in the family room off the kitchen, they do not have one. You have to go to the game room to watch tv. The bicycles and weights shown in the photos are locked and off limits. The outside decks are great and the access to the beach is so nice. I would say the place is aesthetically pleasing, but it wasn’t real comfortable for some of us. There is no place to hang clothes in the master bedroom and the outside entrance isn't perfect. All in all we had a great time and managed with the inconveniences.

Our family was looking for a break from the summer heat at a quiet place right on the beach, and the Surf Shack proved an excellent choice. The house was spacious enough for our needs, the location was secluded without being too far from local activities, and the place was well maintained and with a nice selection of books, games, and puzzles for our entertainment. Each morning we awakened to the sound of the ocean surf, enjoyed leisurely meals with open windows, and took long walks on uncrowded beaches. Everyone in our party had a wonderful time.As with any place there were admittedly a few minor issues. The rental clearly doubles as someone’s family getaway, and there were several cabinets and items unwelcomingly locked up to prevent guests from using them. The furniture was also a little uncomfortable for some people, and not everyone liked that the pillows were feathered. Yet these were trivial compared to what the place had to offer, and when issues arose the management company was quick to respond. If you’re looking for a relaxing summer getaway on the California coast, you would be hard pressed to find a better place for it.
