Great place for a large family. The kids loved swimming at the dock and fishing. The upstairs area of the boathouse was a great place to relax. The house is charming and well stocked. Highly recommend.

Annual Lake Week

This house was very accommodating for our family and the location on the lake is fantastic. You must experience family dinners at the epic dining table and an evening swing on the boathouse porch.

Lake Burton Perrin Cove

Great location. Dock at the end of the cove had deep water and was wonderful for swimming. Plenty of space.

This awesome home is located in a beautiful cove on Lake Burton in north Georgia.

Very comfortable home with hot tub overlooking the lake. Wonderful two story dock too with a lot of seating and space. Plenty of other patio seating and a huge lazy Susan table in the dining room seats 10-12. We really enjoyed our trip!

Lake Burton

Our family had a great time at Lake Burton. The house was perfect. We loved seeing the history of house. The house has everything that you need for a great weekend. We loved the boathouse!

Family & Friends Mountain Lake Weekend

Total of 9 of us stayed on the lake for a long weekend, brought our boat & had a blast. Nothing like spending all day on the lake, coming to your own dock, lighting a fire and grilling some meat on the green eggs. Great Setting and cabin feel, tons of history, lots of thought. Great communication, love lake Burton!

Fun at Lake Burton

The house was certainly a work of art. We loved all the decor and memories that were in books and on the walls around the house. When they started in 1960 until now has been documented! We especially liked the in house scavenger hunt. The house was neat, clean and equipped with everything we needed. Thanks to Bob and Joanne for everything and it’s a memory we won’t forget.

Bday getaway

Thoroughly enjoyed our mini vacation on beautiful lake Burton. The owner was super helpful in finding me a boat when all other were rented in the lake. The house is charming and quaint with lots of history and interesting Knick knacks to peruse. It’s located on a very quiet cove where Labrador’s and Golden retrievers swam around like in a large pool. Very friendly neighbors. Felt very safe and relaxed.

Lake Life Reimagined

What a great family getaway on Lake Burton. The house is a historical treasure and the outdoor living spaces were to die for. We didn't have a single meal in doors. Plenty of space for large gatherings or quite get-aways in a corner nook. This is Lake Life at its best. The hosts were very accommodating and helped us in every step of the process. This lake house is a definite repeat.

July long weekend

The owner of the property and his staff were very helpful and easy to work with. This property had plenty of room to accommodate our large family gathering. The boathouse deck was a big hit and we spent a lot of time there. The location on a small cove was nice for kids swimming as there is little boat traffic. The steps down to the lake are strenuous so if you had anyone in your party who has difficulty with stairs just be aware. This is an older home with a great deal of character, it needs a little TLC in areas but overall I would return in the future

Family Gathering for 80th Birthday Celebration

Property was very nice. Easy to get to and close to Clayton. Very well maintained, good amenities and lots of privacy. We really enjoyed having a dining table big enough for our entire family. The hot tub and boathouse with the hammock and sleeping swing were big hits. The sleeping quarters at the boathouse was perfect for a young single adult. The over the garage suite was great for privacy for those who had to work while at the lake. The property manager and owner were very attentive and quick to accommodate all our request. A great house on Lake Burton for a large family or multiple couples.

True Rustic Lake House

If you are looking for a nostalgic rustic lake cabin this is it! We enjoyed our stay on beautiful Lake Burton. There are a few things which might need to be highlighted in the description one being the use of the twin beds in the loft area above the Master bedroom- these really can only be accessed and used by small children. Also there are quite a few stairs to get to the boathouse so be aware if you aren't fit this might be a challenge! All in all we had a great time even with a few glitches here and there.

Fun family vacation in a rustic lake house

Lake Burton is beautiful- we rented a boat and spent most of our time on the water and down at the boat house. The house is nice, but on the rustic side. We were aware of this beforehand based on the photos, but it would definitely benefit from some updating- especially the bathrooms (mainly basement bedroom bathroom). The kitchen is very tiny with basic appliances, but overall fine. Having two fridges and an extra freezer was nice, and the large round dining room table was awesome. We all had an amazing time but would probably stay somewhere else next time.

We are glad that you enjoyed the lake and appreciate your leaving a comment. Yes, it is rustic! We do have some upgrades planned during the coming winter. COVID really put everyone behind, so work crews are scheduled way out, but that is our goal. Maybe you can come back after the face lift!

Rustic Done Right

What a neat spot. While "rustic" its very, very comfortable everywhere. The dock house is amazing and Lake Burton water is magical. The beds are comfy, and lots of bedrooms so everyone had space. Huge fun dining room plus great outdoor space and hot tub. Parking for several cars and good wifi for multiple "work from not home parents." Its not modern but that's the attraction and if you pay attention the history of the homesite and the house is intriguing. The steepness of the stairs both in the house and especially to the dock may be a concern for some but overall this is a pretty special place.

We loved this rustic lake house

The photos of this house are honest. It sits in wonderful green woods and the lake view is gorgeous! There were quite a few spider webs outside on the patio and boathouse. We heard animals scurrying on the roof at night and wondered if they were inside but we never saw bugs or animals or poop or webs inside the house. The beds are comfortable. The main floor bedroom is somewhat dungeon-like with walls of stone and mortar. The lake was just warm enough that we swam and kayaked for hours each day but cool enough to remain refreshing. The boathouse covered deck was a highlight with breezes coming through and all-day sun protection. I spent many hours on a big sofa swing with my new grandson. There are other picturesque houses and swimmers in view but the cove is big enough for all of us to ignore each other. Our family had a great vacation here!

A wonderful lakeside retreat!

We had a wonderful stay at Lake Burton in this gem of a cabin. Our family had people from 62yrs down to 2 yrs of age. Everyone had a blast! There were 2 paddle boards provided and we rented a pontoon boat for 3 days of our stay from LaPrades Marina. I highly recommend them and renting a boat. The cabin has a wonderful history as it was built and added onto over the years. It has 3 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom dowstairs. All bedrooms have bathrooms; with the exception of the master all bathrooms are tiny and rustic. There is also a bedroom above the garage with a bathroom. The boathouse has a bedroom as well, but it does not have a bathroom. The kitchen is a galley style kitchen and had everything we needed to prepare delicious meals. I do want to mention that this home is built on a hillside so there are steps everywhere! Going from the parking area down to the cabin. Inside the cabin, there are steps to the different levels of the patios outside and several steps down to the boathouse. Not a problem for us, but I mention this because this home and property would not accessible for handicapped persons with limited mobility. The hot tub was a big hit with our group as was the top of the boathouse which is fitted with a table and chairs, a hammock, 2 swings, a loveseat, and 3 morechairs. This area is amazing and we spent a lot of time there. Our family made lovely memories in this little slice of heaven!

Wonderful Retreat

Spectacular weather at a perfect venue. Who could ask for more? We especially enjoyed the hand crafted dining room table. It was the perfect setting to share wonderful meals with wonderful friends.
