Lake Front Cottage on Douglas Lake Near Petoskey, Pellston, Levering & Mackinaw

Douglas Lake is a beautiful, quiet lake. You will truly find Harmony here.The University of Michigan owns much of the land surrounding the lake so it is not overly populated. It is excellent for swimming and fishing (perch, bass, pike).

The cottage includes two bedrooms, one with twin beds, the other with a full size bed, a full bathroom, kitchen area, and living/dining space. The living room couch folds out into a full size bed. You are responsible for providing your own linens and towels. The front area has a large outside deck, yard with campfire pit and a long dock with an adjacent sun deck attached which is perfect for sunbathing. A canoe is available for your use or you can bring your own boat or rent one from a nearby marina. Trailer parking is available.

The area has wonderful restaurants, including the Douglas Lake Steakhouse just a minutes’ walk away; golf courses and shopping are also nearby.

This is a non-smoking cottage and no pets are allowed. Due to space constraints we allow only four people to rent at a time.

Girls trip! We loved our stay here. Everything we needed was there. Beautiful scenery from the deck. Water to cold for swimming but we did put our feet in it off the dock. Had one issue with the hot water but the host was prompt on getting it taken care of. Would definitely stay there again.

Peaceful get-away

Wonderful weather and perfect place to relax with family! The cabin is bright and cozy and the kitchen well supplied. I couldn't imagine a more perfect place to spend vacation.

Very relaxing and beautiful

Probably the best that we have stayed at before. Very nice sandy beach. Actually it was our honeymoon as we were married on Sunday.

Great Place

Property was a classic lake cottage!!! Very clean and neat with a great view of the lake and a shallow sand beach. Very happy with our choice to stay here.

Thanks for a great week!

The cabin is comfortable and has everything a family needs for a week by the lake including a fire pit, grill, and row-boat. Douglas Lake is a peaceful get-away!

Northern Michigan Bacation

The property was clean and very comfortable. The host was very prompt with his communication and helpful. Close to many things and places if interest. Great location. Recommend this property without hesitation.

Awesome cottage!

This is an awesome, cozy "Up North" cottage on a serene lake. We have stayed here many years and always come back each summer. Peaceful location yet close to great antiquing, Mackinaw and Petoskey. Great for lake activities, biking, hiking and "hanging out".

When we arrived, we immediately noticed there was no rowboat as was advertised in VRBO property description. When I reached out to owner, he said he would try to borrow one but we had to go get the boat from his friend. We took cold to lukewarm showers. When I reached out, the owner tried to troubleshoot but we never had a hot shower. Blowdryer died halfway through the week so I had to go buy one. Owner never offered to reduce the price even though there was continual problems.

Great!

The cottage we rented was very cozy. Overall very pleased with our stay. On the water. Good bed. Well equiped kitchen. Bring your own sheets & towels. No laundry available. Nice neighbors. Great view! We even enjoyed the view on the rainy day! Would stay here again.

The property was very nice. It was clean the setting was beautful. Lovely!

The property was just as stated. It was clean and very nice. We enjoyed our stay on Douglas Lake. My husband and grandson enjoyed fishing on the lake but did not catch much. My grandson also enjoyed swimming right by the dock. Even though it was too cold for us, he loved it!

Amazing

We booked our stay here last minute for a Mackinac Island day. When we arrived to the cottage we almost canceled our trip to just stay and enjoy the cottage! The lake right outside the back door was amazing! The lake was quiet and huge! The cottage was clean and provided everything we needed to enjoy our time! I sat on the back deck and just enjoyed watching nature, listening to the loons and watching my kids live their best life. We went for a boat ride on the provided boat and it was a highlight of our time there. Neighbors were very kind. Next time I want to stay for an entire week!

I have been going to this lake for 60 years and it is the first time staying at this cottage. This is the best cottage I’ve stayed at in all my years. The owners, Dale and Anne, were amazing! The cottage was well furnished and had everything we needed. The cottage was beautiful and on the best part of the lake, just a few feet from the shoreline! We had a great week and look for more years there! 5 star plus!

Another great time

Wife and I have stayed here multiple times, awesome lake cottage close to the water. Great cottage feel that helps us get away from our hectic lives. Fishing was very good and the protected cove is out of the wind.

AMAZING

We were so very impressed with this little piece of heaven! We didn't want to stay in Mackinaw City & this place was far enough way to make it feel like we were on vacation but we were close enough to do all the touristy stuff! We are already planning our next trip back!!

First time in Michigan

Our family of four enjoyed this peaceful retreat as a home base for our week of exploring Michigan. It was nice to have access to a rowboat and canoe to explore the beautiful Douglas Lake.

Great week on Douglas lake.

My buddy and I had a great time bass fishing on Douglas lake and the cabin was perfect! It was vary comfortable with plenty of space. With wild life abundant , there was loons and hummingbirds and a family of ducks with 14 babys …. Vary cool 🦆. And the dinner at DLB was superb and walking distance from the door. The whole community was very friendly and welcoming. I would not hesitate to go back again! Great time !!!

Beautiful stay!

We just loved our quaint cottage on the lake! The cottage was beautiful, with knotty pine, and the DVDs were a real treat! We absolutely loved the panoramic view with all the windows and it was right next to the Douglas Lake Bar—the location couldn't have been better.

Perfect Location!

This cabin was lovely! We had a wonderful view of the lake and two of the most fantastic sunsets! We were only there a few days, but regretfully we have to go back to work, but we made the most of the time. Went to Mackinaw City, Cheboygan and Petoskey. Ate at the Douglas Lake Bar and had a great meal, and went to the Cheboygan Brewery and the Petoskey Brewery. My husband needed to attend a meeting Friday morning and needed WIFI. The Pellston Airport was very accommodating and only 3 miles away. We loved our stay there! We also have to mention that it got pretty nippy at night and even though instructions were left for lighting the furnace the heat was on when we arrived which was great because we were nervous about doing this task! Thanks for that and everything! Will plan on a return visit next year!
