3 acres of private Lake Superior beach front! Located on the North Country Trail. Muskallonge Lake located directly behind the property for great fishing or fish right from the Superior beach. Hike or kayak on the famous Two-Hearted river. Parking for RV and 2 out buildings for snowmobile, ORV and boat parking. 9 miles from Pine Stump Junction. Local kayak/boat rentals are available. Captain's Beach House located next door for extra rental space, contact us for details and pricing. We own 3 properties in a row for a total of 6 acres. @captainshideaway1. There are only 8 homes total on the private road.

By far the BEST place to stay in the UP!

We absolutely loved our time here! I have been coming up to the UP for years! I have never stayed somewhere as beautiful as this home. The cleanliness, the view, and the owner's communication was phenomenal. Every amenity you could think of! This will be my go to when visiting the UP!

Lovely home on the Big Lake

This house was perfect for our stay. Two adult couples sharing the home for a long weekend. Plenty of room and beds for everyone! Location was amazing and beautiful!

Great Get-away

No problems and no issues and a bonus dog to pay us occasional visits to play ball. It was a nice stay on a mostly private beach.

2024 Bucket List Trip

We had such a great time. Northern Lights were out two nights. Our view was Lake Superior. Can’t beat the beauty and majesty of the lake. Rocks were plentiful. The cottage was very comfortable, used the fireplace every night. Well stocked, clean and very comfortable. We will be back.

Superior views

My husband and I go to the UP a couple times a year. This place was an amazing place to stay. We felt right at home. Slept good every night and the views are hard to beat. We hope to stay again.

Perfect cabin for rock hunting!

We had a wonderful time. The sunsets were beautiful and the beach was really enjoyable after we learned how to navigate the flies! lol The cabin was the perfect fit for my family(2 adults,10 and 7 year old kids).

First trip to the UP

Spent a wonderful long Memorial Weekend scrounging the beach for cool rocks, getting our feet wet and having beach fires. Great place! Highly recommend, house was clean and spacious and well outfitted for our weekend. 5/5

Superior Captain’s Cottage

The Captain’s Cottage is an amazing place to stay directly on Lake Superior! The cottage itself is very inviting with awesome large decks and all the comforts of home! It is extremely well stocked for any needs that may arise. The expansive, naturally beautiful beach is great for plopping, walking or combing through countless beautiful rocks of all sizes for your personal treasures. We had an outstanding week relaxing with friends and would certainly hope to return!

Anniversary Trip

What a special place! An absolutely beautiful location, right on the incredible shores of Superior, that with it's remote location make it the perfect vacation getaway. The property owner provides everything you could need to have an excellent time, plus, a few things we didn't expect. Overall, our favorite vacation hands down!

Waterfront convenience!

Great view of Lake Superior at its finest. Home is in a great spot to make day trips out either way. Loved the area and the house was supplied with all necessities. I would love to visit again!!

Captain's Cottage

My mom and I had a wonderful time at this cottage on Lake Superior. I was happy I could bring my dog with us as well. We all enjoyed walking the beach and rock hunting. It was located near our favorite bakery which was a bonus. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and I hope to come back again!

Family Get Away

We were all very happy to stay at the cottage. There was plenty of room for our grown children and a preteen grandson. We were more interested in the gorgeous Lake Superior shore so having a clean functioning cottage was a bonus. Hope to stay again.

It was nice

It has a beautiful view. Owners are very nice. It is on a bluff so getting to beach has stairs. Owners are making improvements as they just obtained it. I would definitely stay again.

Captain's Hideaway and Cottage are side-by side properties located on 6 acres of gorgeous, very private Lake Superior beach front. Only 8 homes total on the road. The North County Trail, which stretches from Vermont to North Dakota, runs through our beach front. 1.5 hrs from Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore. 20 mins to Grand Marais. Newberry Country Club has a beautiful 18 hole golf course. Tahquamenon falls is just 43 mi away. Take a day trip to Mackinac Island. We hope you enjoy your stay. Chris and Elyse Van Houzen
