Plover Retreat - Cute Cabin Close to Town, 5 min. from beach

Welcome to the Plover Retreat, a cozy cabin in Grand Marais. Our cute two bedroom plus sleeping porch cabin, is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. Enjoy quality bedding and towels as you 'rough it' in our cute cabin. Though only a few minutes from town, our cabin and its surrounding yard feel secluded and private. Enjoy the first cup of coffee in the morning on our deck and watch the humming birds zip around looking for food. Lazy, quiet days lend themselves to reading a book or putting together a puzzle on the enclosed porch while still getting to enjoy the scene outside.

Just a short walk from our property is the beach access for one of Lake Superiors prettiest spots: five to ten minutes on foot turn right on H-58 towards town, turn right on Ellen Street to a public beach. Sugary sand and shallow water for swimming meet up with the mouth of the Sucker River; the perfect spot to spend an afternoon.

As the day wears on and night fall begins, be sure to enjoy a small camp fire under the stars. Roast some marsh mellows, sing songs or tell a few tales of times gone by. Reconnect with family and friends and enjoy a slower paced life on vacation with us.

We loved our stay so much! Every detail about the property helped us feel at home. The large property made it feel secluded, but we were close to town and Pictured Rocks, making it very convenient. We enjoyed seeing so.many butterflies and birds in the yard. Would love to stay here again next summer, highly recommended!!!

The cabin was so cute and just fun to sit and look around in. It was very clean and very small. It was a great place to sleep and get ready. We were not there much.

Plover Retreat was clean and cozy. Our dog truly enjoyed the area to run around in the yard. Perfect walking distance to Grand Marais. Very comfortable sleeping. A few suggestions : improve signage re: the dangerous hill down to the stream. Update the info re the beach. It is definitely more than a 5 min walk. It took us a few tries to figure out we needed to search for the path on Ellen St. it is not well marked. We were not sure if we were crossing private property. Once we found the beach, it was delightful! I would suggest adding more glassware and pots and pans with lids that match for cooking. Otherwise we had a wonderful time with plenty of solitude, exploration and joy in Grand Marais. Thank you.

This was a very cute cabin. We love the trails in the area, and they were accessible everywhere from this location. The porch was hard to leave, very spacious and comfortable. Would recommend!!

Perfect little town for a getaway. We stayed for 3 nights and explored the area. The restaurants were great, the beaches were beautiful and the cabin was cozy to come back to. Nice and quiet, offered the right amount of privacy and the bonfire area was perfect. Highly recommend.

Great Basecamp

This quaint cozy cabin was a perfect location for our family to explore Tahquamenon Falls and Pictured Rocks area. It was clean, comfortable and well stocked.

My husband, dog, and I had a great time staying at Plover Retreat! Loved the cabin. Beds were comfortable. Easy access to the town, beaches, and trails. Overall great experience!
