Awesome Sunsets

This property was a great find and we would definitely stay here again. Awesome lake views and beautiful sunsets. The saltwater pool and hot tub were wonderful and the water temperature was a perfect 88 degrees. The house was super clean and had everything you needed in a great kitchen. I fished from the dock some every day and caught several bass. The owner, Stu, was very responsive and helpful with the few questions we had during our visit.

Relaxing vacation

We had a wonderful 2 weeks at Mermaid Cove.This was our second home we have rented from Stu and Cathy and they are decorated beautifully and very clean.The sunsets from the pool overlooking the lake were breathtaking Our grandkids certainly enjoyed the pool as we did.Highly recommend renting this beautiful home for your next vacation!

Wonderful location and beautiful property!

We really enjoyed our week long stay. The private pool and spa were used daily. The dock overlooking the lake was a nice peaceful place to take in the sunsets. We were able to take a day trip to Sanibel and Captiva islands and made multiple visits to the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam location. I would highly recommend staying at this wonderful property with its excellent location!

Mermaid House is Lovely!

The house was beautifully decorated, well-equipped, extremely clean! The kitchen island and master suite with claw foot bath tub was my favorite! My family loved the pool and spa! Stu and Kathy were amazing hosts and very accessible with questions. We would definitely stay again!!

Family Fun and Relaxation

The house was very clean and neat. Very nicely decorated. The outside property had a spectacular view and the pool was nice and warm. We didn't want to get out of it!! All in all, we had a great time!! Would definitely rent again or one of their other properties.

There are hardly words to summarize our experience at Mermaid Cove! From the moment we walked in, we felt like it was a dream! It was fun to pretend this was our forever home! The attention to every single detail, the ambiance, the truly welcome feeling is sweet! Your home is so clean, the linens are luxurious! From lounging by the pool, relaxing in the hot tub or fishing or kayaking, there was never a need to search for something to do!! We will be back!!!

Spring break 2024

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay here. The boys did not catch any fish, but had fun trying. The pool and hot tub were great. We traveled to several beaches nearby. The beach towels, umbrella, chairs and cooler were great to have available. Communication with the host was good. Check in and out were seamless.

This house is amazing! The view of the lake is so beautiful and relaxing! The pool and the hot tub was wonderful. The house is beautiful and has everything you need! We had the best time there and would love to rent from Stu and Cathy again!

Great quiet location. Lots of things to do. Didn’t catch any fish but had a great time trying. Saw a lot of them. Just weren’t biting. Very clean property. Had a great time.

Just perfect!

This is the second property of Stu and Cathy’s that we rented and it was just as perfect. All of the above-and-beyond finishing touches really make you feel at home. The home is extremely clean and gorgeous, the pool is inviting and relaxing, and the lake views are beautiful. We will definitely be visiting again!

Every comfort a home! Amazing views, especially sunset! Amazingly maintained! Decorated clearly by a professional. Wasn’t a nook that wasn’t amazingly decorated. Oh yes, and the pool/spa five stars.

Great location and amenities.

Great experience. My wife and I have been renting VRBO homes both internationally and domestic for many years. This home is ranked very high with us. Very clean, easy instructions and well equipped. The screened in area in back towards the water was so relaxing. The pool and spa were the perfect temperature. We would recommend this home to our friends.

The Perfect Set-Up

My wife and I were looking for the perfect get-away yo enjoy the southwest Florida Spring. We certainly found it with this Mermaid Cove property hosted by Stu and Cathy. The house was in tip-top shape. They ensured outstanding attention-to-detail. With regard to decorating, the house is done in an up-to-date, tasteful manner. The provisioning of housewares, linens, etc. were well above average. This place is a sure fire bet!!!

The house has everything for a great vacation!

The house is equipped with everything you need for a great vacation. While we were there we had a few unfortunate problems. The hot tub would work on and off and was down for 3 days of our trip and there were bugs on the counter tops in the kitchen that got into our food. Other than that the trip was great. The house had everything for a beach trip and everything to cook meals in house. Great location. Beds were comfy. Fun time.

Enjoyable short stay

Stayed for 3 nights, wish we stayed longer. My 14 y.o. son who recently took up bass fishing would wake up very early in the morning to fish from the dock. He would fish until sundown and probably longer if the dock was lighted. The Kayaks came in handy as well. My wife, who's a stickler for cleanliness approved of the place. Publix is just 5 minutes away. We hope to return again next year.

Just Perfect!

House, pool, grounds -- perfect. Beautifully decorated, well-equipped, extremely clean! EVERYTHING you could need or want for your trip to Cape Coral was there -- coolers, beach wagon, fish poles, bikes, pool floats, beach towels, and so much more. Stu and Kathy were amazing hosts and very accessible with questions. Sunsets were breath-taking. A piece of paradise -- but very short distance to all stores. PS - This house has the kitchen island of my dreams! Kitchen is beautiful and very well equipped -- so gorgeous you'll want to cook during your vacation!

Mermaid Cove left us with a great tale!

Upon arrival, we found a lovely, very clean, property with an atmosphere that was very beachy and serene. We had a wonderful time kayaking on the lake, fishing on the dock right in our yard, and swimming in the luxurious heated pool with hot tub. The property provided us with every luxury and comfort of home and more. The property was also located in an area with plenty to do Including a waterpark, and miniature golf within walking distance. The neighborhood was a great place to ride bikes which were also provided, as well as taking leisurely walks around the lake. Not only was it a relaxing and comfortable experience, it was also a very affordable vacation as well. We can’t say enough good things about our experience. The owners, Stu and Cathy, provided us with an email prior to arrival and before departure with easy to understand instructions with everything we needed to know about the property. Their contact information was also available in case we encountered any problems, which we did not. We are already planning our next vacation with Sea Schell vacation rentals.

Stu and Cathy... another amazing home!

There's something to be said about a Stu and Cathy Scheller home. My husband and I have rented a few times from them and there is always a feeling I get when I take that first step inside... its a feeling of warmth, like I am home, and staying at Mermaid was no different. There was so much attention to detail- from the decor and beachy theme to the choice of tile to the cleanliness of the house! I really loved the blue and white theme around the home.. The kitchen was fabulous with a ton of counter space! I really enjoyed the giant island and cooking in this kitchen. I love to cook and since we don't really eat out, the kitchen got a lot of use! There was an abundant amount of silverware, gadgets, dishes, glasses, plasticware and even a butcher block knife set which I used every day.. The china was also a nice touch. The master bed was amazingly comfortable, not too hard or soft and the shower was FANTASTIC with a big rain shower head and super water pressure! We loved the pool and were in it constantly! Beautiful backyard and dock! The house is right down the street from a Publix so that was very convenient. Mermaid is located on a lake that is full of fish. My husband had a blast in the mornings 'slaying the bass' as he called it and of course fishing poles and tackle were provided for our use. The back of the house gets sun all day long and the sunsets were phenomenal! Tons of chairs and loungers! We loved this house so much we didn't want to leave! So much so, we have booked it again for October! Stu and Cathy are always accessible by phone or email and I feel like when I talk to either of them, it's like talking to an old friend of mine. They are very accommodating and easy to talk to! Stu and Cathy, thank you for a wonderful stay, AGAIN! Your attention to detail and endless amenities really made our stay first class! We can't wait to come back!

Under Mermaid's Spell

From the moment we pulled into the driveway of the aqua blue house and were welcomed by the beguiling Mermaid, I knew we were in for a treat! As we opened the front door, we were greeted by a beautiful, open & spacious living, dining and kitchen space...and the view! Ahhhh! Throughout the home you'll find a perfect mix of livable, not fussy, antiques, sumptuous furnishings, whimsy, beauty and style. Each room is beautifully comfortable. AND clean, oh, so clean! The kitchen is the best equipped I've ever seen ! I believe we could have thrown a dinner party for the street and had enough dishes, glasses, flatware and serving pieces to accommodate all! There's a complete set of china, for goodness sakes, along with a colorful song bird that appears to be flying through the china cabinet. The whimsical touches are delightful! We don't cook often on vacation, but the huge island with the farmhouse sink was great for any prep we did. It's the first time I've ever been tempted to spend more time in the kitchen on vacation! The main bedroom is gorgeous, with it's own walkout to the lanai, and the bed was most comfortable! I fell in love with the claw foot tub in the main bath and the rain shower head! Water pressure was fantastic! We spent most days lounging at the pool, which by the way, is detailed by shimmery tiles as a nod to the mermaid theme. It's the perfect spot for reading and enjoying the view and wildlife. On a hot day, the spa, without the heat turned on, is a lovely spot to read, relax and stay cool. If an afternoon rain came, we moved to the very comfy seating on the lanai, resting from a long day of relaxing under the ceiling fan. The travertine floor of the lanai, surrounds the pool, extends to the outdoor dining area and to the dock! Beautifully done! The laundry room offers 2 sets of washers and dryers, along with some laundry supplies. Mermaid doesn't live like a vacation home...it lives like a wonderfully appointed home, designed to the finest detail, which has been placed in lovely Cape Coral just for you. We enjoyed many local restaurants and a trip to Sanibel and Captiva which are not to be missed! We took Stu and Kathy's recommendation and had dinner and key lime pie at the Key Lime Bistro. The hype is justified...it just might be the best key lime pie in the world! We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay! Pure Perfection! You must experience the detail, style and comfort of Mermaid for yourself!

We fell in love with this property for several reasons. The Lake View is amazing, the sunsets are stunning, but the setting is undeniably unique. Sitting on the Patio at night watching the Eagles swoop down to pick fish out of the water, the birds and wildlife across the lake.. amazing. The heated pool, The Spa, the decor it all leads to a unique private resort eco-experience. The Game Room will be up and operational by late Fall 2022. We supply Kayaks, Fishing Gear, Life Jackets, games, bikes, books, and a garage/game room and Smart TV's in every room. The bedrooms are separated with the Master on one side, and the two guest rooms on the other side. All bathrooms have been completely updated with new tiles, vanities, tubs. The Kitchen is all new, smart blue and white cabinets with quartz counter tops. Appliances are all new. The window seat overlooking the lake will make you want to curl up with a book. We have board games, a port a crib, booster seats and toys for the little ones. There is something for everyone here at Mermaid Cove.
