Welcome to your beachfront cottage retreat — located just three doors from the famous Kingfisher Resort & Spa, easily walkable along the beach. With private beach access, ocean wildlife views, and a cozy interior anchored by a real brick fireplace, this home is ideal for couples, families, and dog lovers looking to unwind.

The living space is warm and inviting, with a fireplace stocked with included wood, and large windows framing ocean views. Outside, the deck overlooks the water — perfect for morning coffee or evening stargazing. There’s also an outdoor fire pit with Muskoka chairs (seasonal fire bans apply).

Inside, you’ll find three bedrooms: a king with ensuite, a queen, and a room with two double beds — all on a single level with just one step from the driveway. The kitchen is updated and includes a server’s window to the dining area. The bathroom shows its age, but the home is clean, well-stocked, and full of character.

Whether you’re reading by the fire or exploring the shoreline, this is a relaxed, memorable place to recharge.

Great ocean getaway

Lovely house located right on the ocean. Large property, no noise from neighbours, easy to get to nearby shops etc. Lots of windows to admire the view, comfy lounge room. Nice place to relax.

Perfect Family Get Away

We really enjoyed our long weekend at Sunnyshore. The house was perfect for our family (all 3 kids had their own beds!). The kitchen was very well appointed with everything we needed and well stocked. We were lucky to have a storm day and got to watch the big waves from the cozy living room facing the beach. We hope to come back again when we come to the area!

Comfortable relaxing home

We were here for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and so comfort and relaxation for our family were central. The house did not disappoint. It was well equipped, cozy, and very importantly, well situated for the beach and Seaside views. The owner was responsive and helpful with any questions I had. We have rented in the Comox Valley area now for almost 35 years in different places, it’s a magical part of the West Coast. An added bonus was that it is pet friendly and the family dog enjoyed swimming and getting about on the beach. We had one lunch at the fire pit which I can imagine during the summer would be a meeting point thanks for sharing your home .

Amazing Location

We had a wonderful holiday here. The home had everything you could want, it was spacious and clean. We were able to enjoy the beach that was literally on our doorstep. The views were perfect. Cannot recommend this place enough and we will definitely be back again! Very pet friendly - they provided a bed and bowls. Our dog had a blast running on the beach every day. Thanks again for a great stay in your awesome home.

This is a 3 star accommodation Old and cold. The heating system is inadequate and it was very cold. Shower old and small. Kitchen well appointed. Ok but not a great option.

Not as good as anticipated

Nice property but not ideal. Every morning neighbours dog would bark for 20min, yard maintenance people decided to show up early and cut grass and weed whip. They asked us to start a load of laundry prior to leaving but there was bedding left in dryer from previous guests..

Girls Weekend

What an awesome property. Beautiful home, comfy with everything we needed. Amazing deck we drank our morning coffees on, a sunny beach where we worked on our tans and a nice evening by the fire. Close to food and drink. The cleaner Joycelyn was leaving as we arrived, a super friendly welcome, the house was clean and smealt amazing.

An interesting place...

Nice stay, Too many emails (32) Before leaving the property, there is an expectation of filling the dishwasher, putting towels in the washer, leaving house "tidy", ("it will be greatly appreciated ". .. ), a little bit condescending? but you pay for a cleaning fee however..) Privacy questionable (noise monitor, camera outside).

Nice spot overall

Really gorgeous location right on the beach and crashing waves! Nice private drive off the highway, far back enough that it was quiet. Clean and comfortable house overall, really felt like a nice retreat from the mainland. A couple minor things that were a bit of a pain for us that I'll post for awareness. One was no cable (more a Roku type with various channels). Generally wouldn't have been a thing on a vacation (or if i had all the subscriptions) but we were looking forward to relaxing and watching hockey playoffs and had to go out. Also the 4pm check in was strict (the door wouldn't unlock). Usually I see some flex in this as you can't always avoid or know if you'll arrive early. There also was no hose which would be good if you plan on biking in Cumberland. Finally the NoName coffee and laundry detergent could use an upgrade, but at least there was some. Minor issues in the grand scheme but as far as options in the area this was a great spot overall and good communication from the host.

Family get away

You can not beat the location of this house! It was amazing to be right on the water and plan walks around the tide. Our dog was in heaven running and exploring during low tide. There were other dog owners at near by homes and everyone was extremely respectful, leashing dogs when in proximity. The house was comfortable and the owners really easy to work with, they provided a ton of info about the local area. We stayed before the summer season and would love to come back to experience the warmer weather. Great stay!

Perfect for family or a group

Sunnyshore was a perfect spot for our family of five plus our two doggies. It is very well equipped, the view of the ocean is lovely and it’s a short drive to Courtenay and not too far to Mt. Washington. Everything worked and the host is very responsive and helpful!

Wonderful spot

This house is just as listed and quite a wonderful find. Great base for exploring the East side of the island. All the amenities you would need and plenty of room for gathering and family. The view can't be beat. Another reviewer posted about the road noise. This was not an issue for us and I felt the road was a benefit as it was easy to access where ever you wanted to go.

Great place for families with kids

Perfect place to stay for the whole family. The check in process is easy and hassle-free, as updates and all relevant information regarding directions, access, contact details, etc are sent before the stay. Chris is very responsive to all questions and guests can download an app which includes additional information about the house rules as well as the area. The house itself is very spacious, clean, and the kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked with all the necessities. There is lots of parking space in front of the house, and the beach is just a short walk through the trees away - there is a direct beach access. Our family enjoyed the peaceful location (the house is surrounded by some mature trees, which provide privacy, while the ocean is still so close we could hear the waves), and the kids loved the fact that they could swim and paddle board whenever they wanted without having to drive to the public beach. We would definitely like to come back.

Fabulous Coastal Vacation

Our stay was wonderful! We appreciated the cleanliness upon arrival and slept well the entire week. We didn't need to go anywhere, yet we went to many places, including: Malahat Skywalk, Ancient Cedars Loop in Ucluelet, Helliwell Provincial Park on Hornby Island, and Whale Watching in Victoria. Some of the amazing things we experienced right at Sunnyshore were: hummingbirds, herons, eagles, sand dollars, an abundance of starfish, and a seal! We learned Bananagrams & loved the extra large coffee mugs in the mornings. We had the added bonus of perfect weather all week and will miss following the daily tide chart. Definitely, a week to remember!

Vancouver Island - Mid Island Ocean Front Retreat

Great location. Private. Wonderful view and on the beach! You must pay attention finding the entrance to the property. Excellent for visiting other parts of the island. Pet friendly, although there are no fences. Everything you need is there, including tea, coffee, and some spices. Close to shopping.

Long weekend

Property was fantastic. Really close to the kingfisher resort, which allowed us to walk to for dinner and drinks. We used the fire pit which had wood already supplied. Eagles were fishing in the mornings out front of the property. Space inside was ideal for the four of us and had all the supplies needed. Host checked in to make sure everything met our needs and supplied great info on local activities and options. We will come back to this property again.

Sisters' getaway

We loved the view and access to the beach. The layout of the space works very well for us, we are four 60+. If we'd wanted to use the spa or restaurant at the Kingfisher, it's a few doors away. I have recommended the place to friends already. I look forward to staying again in the future. Chris was quick to respond to questions we had. Thank you
