Relax in this peaceful cabin located on a 30 acre farm with picturesque views of the woods and farmland. Close to all the quaint river town of Grafton, IL has to offer, but removed from the crowds and the cars and the noise. You can spend your days discovering the shops, wineries, restaurants or local hunt clubs, while spending your nights stargazing or building a fire and eating s'mores. You can stay as busy, or not, as you'd like. It's truly the best of both worlds!

Loved it!

I stayed with my husband, daughter, and pup for NYE. It was perfect! We were able to dosconnect and enjoy time together. My daughter really enjoyed the tour we got and meeting all the animals. I'm sure we'll be back!

Girlfriend Get Away

Three ladies meeting up together to spend time chatting and getting caught up after not seeing each other for 40 years. The setting was perfect! Plus we loved the animals!!!

Fieldon Stay

It was a great relaxing time in a rural setting. Hosts were honest and quickly resolved our one problem. Quite a few more handy odds an ends available above and beyond the description (i.e. charcoal for the grill, fresh eggs in the fridge).

Country life

It was very relaxing. Would recommend this as an escape. Farm animals to enjoy. Peace and quiet to enjoy. Nice and cozy. Owners are very nice and communicate well. Next time we will ask for a tour of the farm.

Beautiful area, cabin was very nice and cozy.

It has been a hot minute since my family has taken a vacation. We just wanted a quick get away. This cabin only was about and hr and a half away. Advertising on Vrbo for the B&B cabin were very clear, had great reviews. We really enjiyed this peaceful experience.

Awesome stay on the farm

This was our first experience with VRBO, and won’t be our last, thanks to Melissa. The communication was phenomenal. Every message returned, every question answered. The cabin itself was beautiful, cozy and comfortable. The animals were definitely a plus. Our wake up call from Ricky the donkey and the roosters was definitely a high point for us. The horses, cows, sheep and goats were fun to watch, but the dogs were amazing. The owners were cordial and friendly. I enjoyed my visit with Jeff while checking out, and our visit with Melissa on our first morning. This cabin will absolutely be on our list for a future visit.

Quite stay

This is an amazing property to stay at, there are lots of animals and very friendly hosts. It is a small cabin that is beautiful inside with lots of ways to relax and enjoy your stay. The property owners have made sure you can have a great stay with a picnic pack ready to go and the availability of farm fresh eggs for breakfast. Looking at staying again next year

21st celebration

This was a wonderful place to stay for my birthday; the cabin was so beautiful. the animals were just so sweet and made the experience even better. we explored st. louis and had a blast at the shark bar which wasn’t anymore than an hour drive from the cabin. we really loved the place and the screened in back porch has our hearts getting to watch the sunset was just breathtaking.

Kid free mom's 24 hour getaway

We are five moms, one of whom turned 50! We wanted to run away for 24 hours and drink wine and laugh! This place was perfect for that! Friendly, fantastic farm animal friends and a cozy, charming, and secluded cabin with a magical screened-in porch!

HQ for Paintball Weekend Staging

Lazy Oak Retreat is an awesome VRBO Property. The location as my Staging HQ was perfect. The Lazy Oak is well maintained and fully equipped. Melissa/Jeff Jones (Owners) are both helpful and friendly. Added bonus, being on a working farm - it was a hoot to watch the goats, sheep, cows, donkeys and dogs frolicking in the barn yard. BUT (Behold the Underlying TRUTH {John 14:6}) Very Peaceful and Quiet…..I’d gladly come back and stay here again

Had to cone back

Enjoyed my first stay was so much I had to come back a week later....my daughter and grandadults 😁 came out and were treated to barn tours and checking in on baby goats, petting horses and cows. We had a wonderful visit! I 💘 love this place!

It's very welcoming and awe-inspiring here. You can look around and see all the little things done to make you feel comfortable. My Daughter couldn't sleep, so we sat in front of the fireplace with pjs and comfy blankets cuddled up watching Netflix from guest account until we could hear the farm animals waking up, slowly, one by one. I quickly made coffee, and we sat within the screened porch, all of us comfortably, including my very large, very fluffy dog. It was a very cherished moment as we picked out the locations and the sound of the animals before the sun even came up, laughing when even Bailey girls had her own reactions! You can also see everything all around the cabin laid out to help make your stay easier. A binder with tons of helpful information about restaurants etc. on the kitchen counter. Wifi password and more hung on the fridge, informational packets established in the corner. A book with Illinois need to know info on the coffee table. My only regret is I wish I could've stayed longer before we needed to move on.

Down on the farm

What a joy to see all the animals whren you round the corner ....... a happy wake up to the yeehaw of the donkey in the morning and a good night kiss from the stars and moon at days end. The peaceful morning walk in the fog and the cows appearing in the mist was delightful. What a pleasure to visit this treasure!

Retreat

Quiet and comfy with beautiful scenery. While my husband was hunting, my dog and I turned on the fireplace, read fiction, put jigsaw puzzles together, and enjoyed the peace.

Welcome to our place. It's always been our dream to live on a working farm and we were lucky enough to find one with a cozy cabin! We raise goats, babydoll sheep, livestock guardian dogs, and several types of specialty chickens. Our family also includes friendly horses, a spit-fire mini horse, a lovable donkey and a grouchy yet sweet house pig.

Our cabin is beautifully decorated with a cozy fireplace in the living room and cathedral ceilings. The view of the farm and woods from the front porch is serene and the sunsets from the screen porch in the back are lovely. The peaceful, country setting is idyllic, while being close to so many attractions and so much to do.
