Información de la propiedad
Upper Saranac Lake. Beach/dock/boat ramp. King bed, pets, paddle, hike, Olympic
Your family can relax and recreate at this charming Adirondack lake community home in the woods, 24 miles from Lake Placid, between the towns of Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake. Pet friendly.
Secluded private lake community with a beach, docks, boat ramp, lawn and picnic tables on Upper Saranac Lake. Power boat, paddle, sail, bike, hike, climb, ski, x-c ski, snowshoe, snowmobile.
Boat slip usually available with previous arrangement.
The space
Perched on a hill in the forest, this rustic and cozy Adirondack mid-century expanded cape style home is a 5 minute walk from the community beach and docks on the lake. A boat slip is usually available with previous arrangement.
The main floor has a large open living room/dining room/kitchen area with washer/dyer access in a closet, master bedroom, and full bath. A huge deck with gas grill and screened in porch make it perfect for entertaining the whole family. The upstairs boasts three bedrooms that share a bath, and the house is bathed in sunlight within the tree top canopy. Two of the bedrooms are "semi-private". If you MUST work, the upstairs bedroom/office desk lets your spread out, and get it done in the natural light. A second desk and community dining table on the main floor provide more than enough space for productivity.
Winter time: The Lake House is on a hill with a considerable driveway and we never know how much snow we're going to get in the winter, so if you are visiting in the winter you will need a Four Wheel Drive Vehicle and boots and/or Yak Trax! There are pictures in the listing. It is usually plowed in the winter, but is in a very remote location. Worst case scenario may require walking the driveway until plowman can arrive. Please CONTACT US with any questions.
Camera (motion activated, no sound) on the front of the house is aimed at the driveway so that we may monitor the snow/condition, safety, and pass-ability of the driveway.
Be advised: This camp is deep in the woods. You may see signs of Moose, mice, bears and bugs. We have hummingbirds just off the back deck, and a chipmunk who comes and visits on the deck. The house is on a hill surrounded by tall trees. If this is too rustic for your style, you may choose a home in a more civilized setting! Most of our guests love it for it's rustic authentic ADK setting, but you must make your decision knowing that this is a rustic forest setting in a beautiful lake community. Also, while your pets are welcome, (and loved) at our home and on our property, they are NOT allowed on community property, particularly at the beach.
Guest access
Guests have the use and exclusive access to the entire main house including 4 bedrooms, two baths, open kitchen/dining room/living room, Open deck and screened in porch, and unfinished basement main access with water toys and second refrigerator.
The community waterfront is a 1 minute drive, or 4 minute walk away, or bike. Guests have use of the beach, lounge chairs, picnic tables, docks, boat ramp, and two fire pits: one at the community beach, and one off the deck at the home. A boat slip is available with prior arrangement, 19' maximum length, NO pontoon boats (TOO wide).
Other things to note
This home is close to the western access to the Adirondack High Peaks region for hiking and climbing, and endless lakes and rivers to explore by paddle, sail, or power boat. Winter sports include skiing, x-country, snowshoe, and snowmobile.
Just 24 miles away is Lake Placid, home of "The Miracle on Ice", and all of the 1980 Winter Olympic Sports Venues for the upcoming SIU World University Winter Games, and countless World Cup Tour Competitions.

Acerca del anfitrión
Anfitrión: Bruce Lyon
My family and I love to host and serve others, especially families with fur faced four footers. We are wedding caterers as well as hosts at our family's lake vacation home, where my Dad taught me how to build a house when I was 11 years old. I grew up here, skiing and attending the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. In the summer, water skiing, paddling, hiking-still working on my 46er list! The natural beauty and our warm, friendly neighbors make this a special place!!
