Wonderful lake house! We’ve stayed here twice and each time was exactly as expected. Hosts are great communicators and have a lovely home.

Great location & abundance of inside/outside space

Great quiet location on Canadian Lakes with quick access to grocery store, dining and sports/golf. Listing & pictures does not do the amenities and bed/bathrooms justice!

Our host, Kirsten, was excellent. She responded quickly and our check-in was a breeze. The house was beautiful and well stocked. The backyard was very large for a lake front home and that allowed our grandchildren plenty of room to play outside. We wouldn't hesitate to rent a house from our host again. Thanks for a great Memorial Day weekend.

Great Golf & Lake Getaway

We had a wonderful trip - very clean, great location, helpful communication, and probably the best stocked VRBO we have encountered to date. This large family cottage was exactly what we were hoping for over the 4th of July holiday. Highly recommend a pontoon rental if you plan to do any swimming or fishing. Close to several acclaimed golf courses and other amenities.

Relaxing property

Wonderful property with great views. Was not good for swimming or fishing. The property did meet our group needs for this year. Well stocked and clean when we arrived. We would stay here again.

Gem at Canadian Lakes

I’ve been coming to Mecosta for almost 40 years and renting homes for about 10. This home and host are absolute gems. My entire family had space and wants to rent here again. The host is kind and organized. We loved our stay!

Delightful stay in traditional cottage

Our stay in this traditional cottage was delightful. We rented it to participate in a family reunion and had family on the lake. Views of the lake were very nice. Not good swimming at the cottage. Best feature was 3 king beds which is rare. Lots of room for our grankids with the bunk room upstairs.

We are from Michigan and enjoy all the beauty of this state. We love sharing our home and helping others find a peaceful place to gather and create memories at the lake, at the nearby beaches, golf courses, local farms, towns and colleges. If you're looking for a place for a gathering or just a restful getaway, Our Island Lakehouse is near enough to do it all and far enough to get away.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

Just a 3-hour drive from metro Detroit, 20 minutes form Big Rapids, 30 minutes form Mt Pleasant and under an hour from Grand Rapids, this is truly central Michigan. The lake is right outside of the front door with the enclosed overlook where we enjoy morning coffee and quiet time. Golf options include small, easier courses, and Tullymore, a PGA course. For the bigger water, you can head towards Lake Michigan, and any of the amazing places along the coast. For dining out, stay local and dine at Antlers restaurant, a destination winery, get a pizza, barbecue or ice cream under 10 minutes away. If you prefer the more familiar, there are many of those options as well in nearby towns. Horseback riding is also available nearby as well as small concerts in the summer months. We are never bored or lacking options!
