Lakefront Cottage with Stunning Views

PLEASE NOTE: If you decide to book, please know that all initial correspondence will be sent via email. Please use an email that you can access so you receive all important information.

Take in the stunning views of Waneta Lake from our adorable cottage! It is a beautiful mix of old and new! It’s the perfect get away to the Finger lakes Region of NY! Centrally located near area wineries, Watkins Glen, Hammondsport, Corning, Geneva, and Penn Yan.
If you are an outdoorsy person, you can golf, boat, swim, hike, kayak and fish! If you prefer, there is antiquing, world-class wineries, restaurants, galleries, breweries and more!

The space
The cottage is quaint and comfortable with original part dating back to 1950. •This portion is a true lake cottage with original shiplap and pine flooring. •The back faces the water with tons of light filled windows! •The upstairs has a spacious Primary Suite with Private 1/2 bath and balcony. •The secondary bedroom has queen bed on the first floor for easy access. •The cottage is over 1500 Sq feet with plenty of room for you and your friends and family.
•We also have a huge driveway that will fit a boat trailer plus a few cars. •Our cottage is located right around the corner from the public boat launch!

**Please also keep in mind that the cottage is on a lake in the country. There are lake things and country things like animals and fish. It is a lake, there is seaweed. It has been known to even have a bear or bobcat. Always be aware of your surroundings.
**There is a large step from original cottage into newer part of cottage. Please watch your step!

Guest access
You'll have access to the entire cottage! You may also use kayaks but will be at your own risk. They are located inside shed that is lakeside. You must use life vests provided. We are not liable for any injuries. Please return kayaks and vests to outdoor shed

Other things to note
We supply a starter of few rolls of toliet paper, a roll of paper towels, a few trash liners, sponge, dish soap, body wash/shampoo/conditioner, laundry soap.
**There is a large step from original cottage into newer part of cottage.
We do not supply firewood for the fire pit. There are places roadside to buy bundles. There is also a bait shop around the corner that sells large bundles and also fills propane tanks.

Cottage was great for a relaxing weekend. Beautiful view, quiet area, right on the lake. Convienent to all the wineries and close to the best towns in the fingerlakes.

This is a lovely, comfortable cottage right on the lake as advertised! The beds and furniture are welcoming and the views are terrific. It was a bonus to have a great large-screen television with Roku access all set up for movie nights, and the kitchen had everything we needed, even an electric kettle. We only stayed four nights so didn't need the washer/dryer but it was all set up with detergent pods for us just in case. There were a couple of window screens that could use some attention before summer visitors arrive, especially the one for the upstairs French door, but these were not an issue for our wonderful Fall trip! We enjoyed easy access and beautiful drives to Watkins Glen, wine trails, the Love Story schooner sail on Seneca Lake, and the fabulous Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University in Ithaca.

This property is the perfect place to relax and has wineries, breweries, distilleries, museums and little shops and anything else you might want within 20 miles . This is our 2nd stay and will definitely be booking it again for our trip next year .

This is the cutest cottage with lots of room and beautiful views right on the lake. The upstairs bedroom with balcony had lots of windows and was so cozy. Absolutely perfect!!

Cute cabin

We had such a fun stay at this cute, cozy cottage. It was conveniently located near a dollar store to grab a few extra things we forgot. It’s also about 10 minutes from some great wineries and distilleries. Would absolutely stay again!

Quiet lake house with great views

Great cottage

The cottage was clean and everything we expected and more . The location is great the lake is beautiful and the kayaks were a wonderful bonus. We will definitely be rebooking for next year .

Excellent all-around. The cottage was super-clean, in a quiet neighborhood, beautiful grassy yard to the lake, and had everything we needed. Upstairs master bedroom overlooking the lake was amazing.We had some last minute changes that came up and the owners were extremely accommodating and helpful. Highly recommended - would stay again!

The location and scenery were wonderful, however, the cottage was old and weathered. The pictures were deceiving. There is no whole house air. Window units in the bedrooms and front addition only. Rest of house was too hot. Kitchen is so narrow, only one person can fit. The algae growth was so bad at the shoreline, we couldn’t use the kayaks. There was no ladder off the dock to assist you. For the price, it just wasn’t what we expected. It was an easy check-in and communication to hosts was good.

As a traditional lakefront property, we always strive to describe our space accurately, but we will use your comments to see where we can make updates or clarify our listing details further. Seasonal shoreline algae can be a challenge in the summer, but we want every guest to have a great experience and will look into adding a dock ladder.

A lovely fall weekend

Our group of 4 retired school nurses spent a happy 2 nights here. The cottage is nicely decorated and has everything needed. We enjoyed looking out on the water from the Adirondack chairs and visiting Hammondsport, Penn Yan and other local places. Would rent again :)

Beautiful getaway

This lovely home was perfect for us as we spent time together exploring the beautiful fingerlakes area. My husband and I appreciated the cozy 1st floor bedroom, and our daughter enjoyed the 2nd floor bedroom with bathroom and cute little balcony. The firepit was accessible by a short walk down a slight slope to the waters edge, and the sunsets were amazing. We loved staying here, thanks for sharing it with us!

Awesome views of the lake.

Unfortunately my wife and I were at different stages of a nasty cold therefore our usual round of wine tastings were put off. The cottage was the perfect spot to sit back and relax while recovering (hopefully ). We did manage to eat at a couple of our favorite restaurants in Hammondsport and Watkins Glen.

Great view & peaceful retreat

Are you looking for a peaceful, retreat to unwind? This is it! The gorgeous view of Waneta Lake over morning coffee and evening sunsets were beautiful! The location was perfect because you were close to both Keuka & Seneca Lakes for wine enthusiasts! The house was cozy and had all the comforts of home. Looking forward to coming back!
