Beautiful East Waneta Lakeside Cottage!

Enjoy this peaceful LAKE FRONT cottage with stunning sunset views located in the heart of the Fingerlakes on Waneta lake! It is available year round. The cottage is located 10 minutes from Keuka and 15 min from Seneca so, you have the best of both worlds! It is a quiet area and the cottage is spacious with plenty of glass windows and amazing lake views. There’s a brand new large deck and a seaaonal dock with kayaks available to explore the lake or go fishing. Several highly rated local wineries are located all within a short drive. Hike nearby Watkins Glen just a 20 min drive away with beautiful waterfalls!
The space
Private home with large glass windows and doors with a breathtaking view of Waneta Lake!
Guest access
Entire home, dock and outdoor porch and decks. This is a multi-level home with several steps between living areas and kitchen. There are also 4 steps from the parking lot to the front porch. The second bedroom is located upstairs on the second floor. This home is an available year round and the lake is known for ice fishing too! NO PETS PLEASE.

Just as advertised and the photos are accurate Quiet location, lots of houses along the lake but still feels like you have some privacy due to landscaping and house positioning. Dock off the lake is nice for fishing and kayak launching, lots of lake grass/weeds around the dock. Lots of sleeping space, great location for sightseeingEasy communication with host

Thank you Christine for staying at our cottage. I am glad you enjoyed your stay! The lake weeds certainly appear worse this year likely from lack of significant rainfall. It does make for good fishing though!

Comfortable house with plenty of room. Kitchen was generously stocked, kids enjoyed the game table. Beautiful views, and nice dock that was great to get the kids into fishing. We also enjoyed the kayaks. The water at the dock was not swimmable, however there are many nearby parks on the finger lakes with little beaches for kids. Beautiful area, we enjoyed all the scenic waterfalls!

We stayed for a week at this beautiful cottage. Joanne responded quickly and provided many wonderful recommendations in the area prior to arriving and at the home. It is a short drive to many attractions and wineries while being located on a quiet and peaceful lake/neighborhood. The home itself and view of the lake from inside received many "wows" from my family when we first stepped inside! The description was accurate and the home was fully stocked with all of the essentials, plus some - plenty of dishes, cooking supplies, blankets, pillows, towels, etc. Truly made the stay comfortable and feel like home! The only thing missing, which was minor, was shampoo. There were some uneven spots inside & outside but even my 83 yr old mother handled them carefully without any difficulty. I would not hesitate to stay here again if in the area.

Lake House review

Absolutely fantastic!!!! The cottage was exactly as described beautiful, clean, quiet and the fishing off the dock was incredible. Would definitely come back.

Great Lake Front House

Loved it! It was quiet and had everything we needed. Great, quiet lake with not a lot of boat traffic. All of the residents were super friendly.

Girl’s Kayaking Weekend

This cottage was clean, roomy & just perfect for our kayaking group. Four Queen beds are hard to come by & were very comfy. Joanne answered all my questions very quickly. We loved having coffee on the porch & would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing at the lake

4 senior adults had a wonderful relaxing 5 days here. Many nice amenities. The outdoor space was amazing. Great place for drinking wine and watching the sunsets. Easy drives to restaurants and wineries. It's good to know that the upstairs bedroom is up a steep flight of steps which can be a little difficult for 4 seniors with bad knees!

Annual Family Trip to Finger Lakes

This cottage was everything we could ask for ! Clean and furnished so nicely. All the extras that come with the house from nice towels and linens to cute soaps and cozy blankets make it feel like home from the time you walk in. Even with a little rain during our stay , the house made it so enjoyable.

Beautiful!

My family and I had an amazing long weekend at this beautiful location! Once we arrived, check in was very fast. Plenty of space for the family, we loved the big dining room table, so we could all eat dinner together. We LOVED how the back porch overviews the lake. The sunrise and sunset were beautiful! The house was very clean, and Joanne was very quickly in answering any questions we had. This lake was like its own community because everyone is so genuinely nice. We will definitely be booking again in the future.

We had the most relaxing, fun-filled stay! Joanne offered great suggestions on local wineries to visit, and was very quick to respond to all questions. The cottage had everything that we needed, was exactly as described, and had many beautiful seating areas outside from which to enjoy the lake view and share food and drinks with friends. Would highly recommend!!

This house was a perfect retreat, with a great deck for reading or watching the sunset. We used the kayaks to explore the lake and caught many fish. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen had all we needed. The area is rural and filled with farm and fresh dairy products. We had a great time!

Very nice lakefront cottage totally equipped with everything for you to enjoy in and out of the lake! BBQ, firepit, kayaks,2 small life jackets, floats for water, more than ample seating for up to 10… lots of space, indoor and outdoor seating. Very clean, nice linens and beds were already made! Pool and foosball for kids. Nice kitchen with everything you need. New looking washer dryer. Quiet neighbors. Convenient parking. Great hiking and wineries nearby!

We are a hard working couple who absolutely love the Finger lakes region. It has been a long time dream to have a lake house and now it has come true. We live and work in PA and rent out the cottage in the meantime until we can one day retire and move to the lake permanently. Our plan is to continue to update and improve the home and property each year

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

I love that it is centrally located. You can visit Seneca or Keuka all within a short drive. Waneta lake specifically is great because it is not touristy. There are no wineries or businesses. Just a wonderful community.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

It’s an old cozy cottage with a brand new 40ft wide deck overlooking the lake. We also have enough room for 8 people to stay and to have dinner together at the large dining room table. Plenty of sitting room inside as well as outside!
