No need to fight over who gets the ocean view in this fabulous 6-bedroom, 4-bath home on a private, rocky beach! With 270 degrees of blue-water views, four of the bedrooms have full views of the Pacific and Monterey Bay. The fifth and sixth bedrooms have a quiet courtyard view just in case somebody doesn't like to go to sleep to the sound of the waves, or watch the moon sinking into the sea at night.
Our home, known since 1929 as Rocky Shores, is minutes from Carmel and Cannery Row in Monterey, and Pebble Beach is our neighbor. We operate under Pacific Grove's short-term rental license #468.
We have a fully stocked gourmet kitchen - and the cook gets an ocean view, too. Dining table seats 10, 14 with extension. Foosball, pinball, ping pong, Legos, art and drawing supplies, puzzles, games and other toys for the kids. Steinway grand piano for the musically inclined. Off-street parking for six cars is available.
Working on vacation? We have 5 workstations available, in separate rooms, and free high-speed wifi.

Downtown Pacific Grove is 1.5 miles away, with movie theater, farmers' market, restaurants, coffee houses, antiques, shops, bakeries, parks, library and natural history museum. The world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row are about 2 miles away, as is Monterey's Fishermen's Wharf. Wine tasting in Carmel Valley is 30 minutes away. Big Sur is about 45 minutes away. John Steinbeck Museum is about 35 minutes away. We have a whole-house Rainsoft water conditioning system, Guardian Technologies advanced air purifier for the den [its pre-filter captures initial dust and allergen particles, its activated carbon filter traps and controls odors, and its UV-C Light works with Titanium dioxide to help eliminate airborne germs]. We also have a triple-filtration, reverse osmosis drinking water fountain in the kitchen. No need to lug bottled water here! Beautiful property and very well maintained. It had everything we needed and the location was gorgeous. Will be returning next summer.

The location of this property cannot be beat. I slept better with the windows open and listening to the sound of the waves than i have in years. The kitchen was well stocked and the host helped us with info on how to have a legal beach bonfire at a beach about a mile down the road. We had a fantastic time.

Pacific Grove
Wonderful property and location. Lots of local activities to enjoy. Hosts were very attentive and responsive. Was an amazing family vacation.

Family Reunion and Birthday Celebration
We convened from various places in th US to enjoy family and commune together. We also celebrated two birthdays of those with us. The home was charming, well appointed and superbly located. The host were accommodating, but invisible, a wonderful combination. Our stay was an enjoyable success.

The home has spectacular views from almost every room. My mother and I stayed in the downstairs rooms that view the courtyard. These rooms were very comfortable. Everything was clean. I enjoyed playing the Space Invaders pinball machine. I got the ball stuck and the host easily guided me to fix it. The hosts were very responsive and friendly.The house is pet friendly, you just have to be cautious about wildlife.

Amazing place!
We had high expectations for this place and it exceeded them. The location and view are extraordinary. The property is well equipped and well maintained. When we return to Pacific Grove we will definitely stay here again!

Amazing seaside location…Beautiful home!
Our family totally enjoyed all that this wonderful seaside home had to offer! Lovely morning sunrise views from the hot tub, spectacular sunsets, s’mores by the fire pit, tide pooling & lovely evenings surrounded by the warm ambiance of the wood fireplace . Adults and grandkids couldn’t have asked for a better location, home nor host that made our stay so memorable!

Family beach vacation 2021
Amazing location, excellent host, gorgeous views. All ages enjoyed the beach and tide pools. Multiple activities, well equipped kitchen (best we've ever had) and home. Surrounding areas offered so much to do, we hated to leave. We hope to return.

Beautiful Property
The house gave my family of 9 room to spread out as well as come together at dinner. Kirstie provided everything we needed during our stay and was easily available to answer questions. The views are amazing and the easy access to walking trails was great. Loved this house

Beautiful 5 star home, yet cozy and comfortable
Our whole family stayed. All said it was the best vacation they'd ever had. The house was fantastic and the owner made sure that we had everything we needed. It was an incredible time with memories to last forever!

Family Reunion
What a beautiful home! This home was perfect for our family gathering. Kirstie and Hannah were very welcoming and we received a very informative tour of the property upon arrival. The home was spotless and kitchen well stocked for cooking. The views of the sunset were breathtaking. We had a fabulous stay.

Family vacation
The property was very clean and exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed long walks on the easy access paths to searching for sea glass on the private beach during our stay. The views were absolutely amazing!! I Look forward to returning to this property.
The caretaker on the property is very respectful of your privacy...you don't even know they are there.

Fantastic location and Service
This house was a perfect fit for a small group of friends getting together to just hang out and have a little relaxation and fun. Perfect location, plenty of room, lots of amenities. Hannah and Kirstie provided top notch service anytime we had questions on the house or needed a few extra supplies. We will be back!

Wonderful family gathering
Our family, all from out of state, gathered here for Thanksgiving, 2024. The location is incredible, literally on the coast. There are so many things to do in this area we could’ve stayed here much longer, but some needed to return to work. The house was built in 1928 and still retains some quirks, but it has been extensively and attractively remodeled. We agree with the many other 10/10 reviews.

Fabulous place
We had 9 members of our family together to celebrate a special birthday. The home is right on the ocean with gorgeous views of the sunset. Every room is comfortable, and the kitchen is equipped with whatever you could need. When we had one little problem the owner responded immediately to fix it. There is so much to do in the area, but if you never left the house, you'd be perfectly happy!

Perfect place for a stay in Monterey
Had booked Inn at Spanish Bay for 3 nights when I saw this rental available and changed my plans. Very happy we did. I have family of 6 and could not of been happier. Kirstie was very helpful and thought of every detail. May go back with friends later next year for a guys golf trip.

Dirk and his family arrived after the Soberanes Fire in Big Sur had burned 50,000 acres and 57 homes, and was still raging. Our usually pristine air was colored by smoke and I felt badly that they had to experience this as their first taste of the Monterey Peninsula ;-( But they seemed to enjoy it nonetheless. I would gladly welcome them back when this emergency is over so they can really see how beautiful the scenery is here.

Family Reunion Vacation
We had an awesome 5 day multi-generational family vacation thanks to the hospitality of Kirstie.
The house was gorgeous and was stocked with everything you could possibly want or need.
The location was perfect, and we were close to many restaurants and shops; and there were many activities for us to do.
The views were spectacular, and we could see otters and whales right from the windows of the home.
Kirstie was available to answer all questions, and she made us feel very comfortable and right at home.
We highly recommend this vacation rental!

We bought our home because it was the only home directly on the beach in all of Pacific Grove. It was extremely private, with a golf course across the street, State Park surrounds us, and the blue Pacific is our backyard. We have a full acre of private property. Another residence has since been built next door, on its own acre of land. A portion of our stone driveway is shared by both homes.

I love to look out my window and see the full moon casting sparkling light onto the dark waves as it sinks to the horizon. On clear evenings, the sunsets are spectacular. The morning sunrise casts a pink glow on the waves. And when it is foggy, there is a magic about the property that is enhanced with a roaring wood blaze in the fireplace, or a glass of wine in the hot tub.
