Furnished Cottage in Historic Silver City

The Carriage House Cottage is nestled behind the David Abraham House, one of Silver City's premier historic homes, owned by Jim & Tricia Reynolds. The Carriage House was built around 1917 and was indeed originally a carriage house with attached servants' quarters. Carriage House Cottage was remodeled in 2000 as a retirement cottage and is furnished with may family antiques and memorabilia. Some elements of the original carriage house are still in evidence, both in the interior and on the exterior of the Cottage.

The Cottage is both cozy and functional. Guests feel right at home from the moment they walk into the Cottage. This welcoming vacation rental is in a quiet, restful area of a historic part of Silver City.

The Cottage has it's own patio with parking directly in front of it. Next to the Cottage is a fruit orchard and well as a grape arbor. For privacy the back portion of the property is surrounded by a brick wall.

It is located within easy walking distance of historic downtown Silver City with all its' unique antique shops, art galleries, restaurants and shops.

Lovely stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage! We stayed for a week and as others mentioned it’s very well stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a nice meal & the cottage had everything we needed to make it feel like home. Great location! Easy access to downtown & easy access to lots of dog friendly activities. If you bring dogs you can close the gate so they can run around the yard freely. Tricia was a great host and very communitive. We had 1 minor issue which she took care of immediately. I hope we can make it back to this cute little cottage someday

Great stay/location

The cottage was perfect for what we needed. Close to campus, food and groceries. Communication was great as well! We’ll definitely book here again.

Comfortable Refuge

Good layout, fully equipped, great location! Two observations. The couch was very low to the floor and hard to get up from for us older people. The toilet needs service. Water ran intermittently and the handle had to be held down to get it to flush.

Very nice property

The cottage is immaculately clean and centrally located. The owner was responsive and greeted us upon arrival. Note that the driveway has a curb to enter the property that a low car like our Corvette could not navigate. Parking is available on the street.

The cottage had everything we needed and was in a quiet, convenient area. Tricia was a very responsive and helpful host. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

Short trip to Silver City

Home was clean and exactly as described. It was very nice to have an option that welcomed dogs and was also walking distance to the main street. The host provided excellent communication regarding the entire process. Would recommend. Thank you for your hospitality.

Silver City Cottage

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The property was very clean, nicely furnished, and superbly equipped with just about anything one might need during one's stay. Loved that the kitchen was stocked with spices, pantry basics, and lots of kitchen gadgets. There were books, games, and lots of info about local attractions. It was warmer than normal for the time of our stay. We were comfortable with the a/c. I highly recommend this property and will definitely consider renting again.

Great location/Good for dogs

Great location, can walk to downtown. It’s also the perfect place to stay with a dog. Only issue is there is no central air. The two portable coolers they have are old and need replaced. The swamp cooler kept going out so it made for a hot night. Replace the cooler and I’d give this place a 5.

A great relaxing getaway

Looking forward to next year

The Carriage House was like a step into the past, but with all the comforts of home. It’s centrally located. We used it as a base to cycle in all different directions. The best was toward the Gila Cliff Duelings in the Gila National Forest. Thank you Patricia

Long weekend getaway

Property was just as advertised. Centrally located between historic downtown and university. Short walk to downtown if desired. Very quiet neighborhood. Would use again if traveling to the area.

Great stay in Silver City

They thought of everything! Cleaning supplies in the kitchen and bath, towels in bathroom storage, and every time you needed something - there it was. We stayed in this property two weeks and came to refer to the carriage house as "home." Walked to the historic city center district for meals and shopping - so good to leave the car behind. Highly recommend!

My name is Tricia Reynolds and together with my husband Jim and our three children we live in a historic old home in Silver City, NM. This home, the David Abraham House,has been in Jim's family since 1962. I have always had a gift for hospitality and love having people stay and meeting new people. When Carriage House Cottage was no longer needed by my husband's father, we decided to turn it into a vacation rental - and I found my vocation. Having traveled a lot, I am able to relate on many levels with most of our guests. We are friendly and caring to our guests, and go out of our way to make your stay with us a memorable one.

We inherited the home we live in and Carriage House Cottage (formerly a carriage house) came with the property. Having said that, we choose to live in the older, historic part of Silver City because we love the location and would have chosen a property here had \we been in the market.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

It is quiet and peaceful here and fairly secluded. It is also a convenient distance to where the 'action' is in downtown Silver City. Most guest park their vehicles and walk most places. We enjoy walking in this neighborhood and seeing the older, historic homes that predominate the area.
