Enjoy spectacular sunsets while dining on one of the 4 porches or from the large picture windows framing the spacious living and dining areas. Experience the natural beauty of the Gila Wilderness area first-hand and hike the 18 ACRES OF PRIVATE HIKING TRAILS or stay in touch with civilization through the high-speed WIRELESS INTERNET and FLAT SCREEN TV. There is even a CELL PHONE BOOSTER to ensure service from this secluded site.

KITCHEN is fully furnished with everything you'll need to create delicious meals from scratch, including the 'Joy of Cooking' Cookbook! Don't feel like cooking? Hop in the car and visit one of several nearby restaurants in charming, historic Pinos Altos or Silver City.

BEDROOMS are complete with CRISP LINENS, beautiful bedspreads and everything you'll need to be comfortable. You'll love the DOUBLE SINKS and DOUBLE SHOWER off the Master Bedroom equipped with a QUEEN BED, LARGE CLOSETS, READING LAMPS, CEILING FAN and ANTIQUE WALL HANGING and RUGS. Walk out and enjoy the many stars visible in the dark night sky from the PRIVATE PORCH off this bedroom. Beautiful home in an amazing location. Well appointed and you can't beat the feeling of being submersed in nature. The elements have gotten to the outside of the house since our last stay, and some maintenance is due, but this does not diminish the quality of the stay or location. We will definitely look forward to another visit. Many thanks to a wonderful host!

This was the best VRBO I have ever stayed in, The home is gorgeous , comfortable and has everything you would ever need, The location secluded yet close enough to Silver City to be very convenient, The host is easy to communicate with and very helpful. Perfect location

The perfect setting

We enjoyed everything about our stay. The surroundings were beautiful and the house provided all we needed. We could relax in the beautiful setting, see the cliff dwellings and hot springs, or hike the many trails.

Great home away from home!

A wonderful home in a quiet and peaceful area of the forest away from all the noise of the city! We had a great time checking out all the natural sites in the area and enjoyed coming home to a great place with all the features you would ever want in a vacation home! Wonderful home in the hills very quiet with hiking trails just out the door. Hiking the “agave garden” was a little rough in places requiring some bush walking, but the 4 mile trail right next to driveway entrance is fabulous.

The owner, Bruce, was a factory worker, logger, newspaper reporter, PR flunkie, and unpublished fiction writer before he discovered computers and lost all interest in reality. He spent 12 years in a computer fog, but gave it all up to move to the Silver City area in 1999. He is now in recovery, but does find time to manage an office building and a few other business projects in town.

Bruce lived in this beautiful house for five years before turning it into a vacation rental. If you don't book it, he probably will. It's a sacred place that he likes to share with others.

Beyond us are only a couple of tiny communities and a hundred miles of wilderness. In this secluded environment, you can hear the diverse sounds of many different varieties of birds, view the Milky Way amidst the dark, starry night skies, watch breath-taking sunsets right from the living room, and hike many nearby trails all the while reconnecting with the natural world AND your own inner landscape.
