Awesome lake views, 100 steps to the beach!

High end home just completed. Lake views from many rooms. 2 kitchens with massive islands. Sets on two lots with large back yard overlooking the lake. 100 steps to small neighborhood beach where the kids can swim and you can moor your boat for the day. Very quiet area on East Bay. Kitchens are both nicely equipped for large groups. 2 large driveways with plenty of room for cars, boats, and RV trailers. Set up as 2 units with separate entrances. 2 bedrooms up and 3 down.

Wonderful Location and Host

We had a wonderful experience staying here for my grandmother’s funeral. We had a family and I had gathering and it was a perfect spot with plenty of entertaining space!

Tip up town

Everything was perfect. Check-in process, house, beds, living space. The only complaint all weekend long, and we probably spent more time in the cabin than most due to weather, was the furniture was extremely uncomfortable. Did not effect our trip in any way possible. Great host, great property

Golf trip

What a great property and we had an incredible time! The house was in great shape and well stocked with required amenities. The location couldn’t have been better and we would definitely rent again.

Family vacation

We came up for a weekend with our family and my brother’s family. Loved being close to the beach/park and the two separate floors worked well for us. Each family had their own kitchen, laundry, bathrooms, etc. we had a great time.

Surprise party

I can not say enough about how beautiful the homes were and what a great time we all had. Neil was so prompt to respond to all communications and he had awesome suggestions from boat rentals to restaurants. You can tell he cares about his properties, they were immaculate. Thank you for letting us stay Neil, it was a very memorable weekend

Beautiful property

House was beautiful, clean and modern! We had 9 people very comfortably but could fit a few extra if needed. All the amenities were there. Lake is very close, warm and shallow, perfect for families and dogs. Close beach within the neighborhood that was on the small side but ok for smaller families.

Would Definitely Stay Here Again and Again

With its upstairs and downstairs units, this house provided comfortable accommodation for 12 individuals. The kitchens were equipped with top-notch appliances, utensils, and other requirements The mattresses and linens both exhibit superior quality, ensuring a restful night's sleep.. The host Neil is very friendly and possesses a wealth of knowledge about the property and local area, which he eagerly shares with guests. If we had to make the decision again, we would undoubtedly choose this unit here in Prudenville on Houghton Lake!

Family Vacation

The property itself was very nice. Unfortunately there was a lot of car & ORV noise in the neighborhood along with excessive speeding. This in no way has anything to do with the home, just want you to be aware

Beware of previous reviews

The reviews that I read prior to booking were great. Well, I guess in a few months after I booked it, the property was sold to someone else I would say the review would not be so great as the others. there were no instructions at all for the check in process, Vrbo still had the old owner’s name on my as my contact so that’s who I was contacting, no one reached out to me as far as how to get into the house. Also, there were absolutely zero checkout instructions. Additionally, the garbage disposal was broken. The owner knew this because there was a big bowl underneath it was collecting the water that was dripping. Therefore, we were not able to use the garbage disposal in our trip. One of the bathrooms the sink was also leaking into the cabinet. The white towels were very stained and old. The downstairs unit smelled musty. We had a fire alarm that wouldn’t turn off, I was told by the property manager to contact a Vrbo Guest service. Their response was less than stellar.

Great Family Experience

Very nice property with an easy 1-2 minute walk to the water. Plenty of parking, most kitchen needs/accessory’s (no coffee grinder but there was a small chopper upstairs that substituted), also had a need for a first aid kit but none found so might want to bring one along. If you are at all picky about your pillows, you might want to bring your own as well. The house was clean but certain details were overlooked (dusty lamps, dust and dirt under couches/beds). The property apparently changed hands from the time we reserved to the time we were actually there and I did see a difference in response time from the new management (slower). All of that said, our family of 10 people that included 4 generations with the oldest member being 83 and the youngest being 3 had a wonderful time together staying at this property. With 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 kitchens and living spaces we had room to be together as well as privacy. We played family games at night, had a campfire one night for the kids to enjoy s’mores, the grill was plenty big enough for burgers, hotdogs and chicken one night and Houghton Lake was easily accessible. Coffee shop about a half mile away so a nice easy walk in the morning and a public access with dock and restrooms less than that. One thing that didn’t occur to me to consider for the oldest family member was walk in shower availability and this property has only tubs with showers. Not the biggest issue for a few days but I know it made it harder for mom.

Weekend celebration

We were 4 couples in town for a wedding celebration. We loved the space and it was perfect having the 4 bedrooms with individual bathrooms especially for getting ready. Place was clean and comfy with nice views of the lake. Wish there were stairs inside between the 2 levels but we made due. Neil was very accommodating and responsive to all my questions.

Wedding Weekend Home Away from Home

Our family's stay during our son's wedding weekend was fantastic! We rented both floors of the house and really felt at home. The house is very modernized and clean with plenty of space, including a spacious backyard with a firepit and grill available. We were so impressed with how stocked the bathrooms and kitchens were! We only had to shop for a few food items since everything you would need for everyday living was provided! Although we had to summon the owner's handyman, it wasn't an inconvenience at all. He was there within twenty minutes and fixed the problem well before it became a problem for us! We recommend this rental house to anyone who wants to have an updated, clean place to stay with more than the comforts of home!

Beautiful recently renovated property

Our weekend was a blast! Neil was an amazing host and responded so quickly to all of my questions. This place had everything we needed and was gorgeous. The upstairs and downstairs each had their own huge kitchen and there was plenty of room outside for activities by the fire pit. Our only issue was that you had to go outside to get upstairs/downstairs but that very well might be a benefit for those guests you don’t want to spend the WHOLE trip with.

Spacious house

The house was great at fitting everybody we needed for our girls get away. Neighborhood was quiet and peaceful with only a short walk to the beach. Overall, great!
