The Great Escape in Kings Beach

We enjoyed our stay for the most part; however, when we arrived and started unpacking, for our 5 day stay, we realized the master bedroom closet was locked! So we only had dresser drawers to use for our clothes! I found this VERY incovenient and would not have rented this home! Who wants to live out of their suitcase for 5 days?? The beds were okay, not great. The living room and outside deck were very comfortable, and the deck has a nice view. We found the fireplace difficult to operate, and thanks to our 19 year-old grandson, he could figure out the TV with 3 remotes! The area was quiet and peaceful, and having the use of the garage for 2 cars, was just like home!

Lovely Cabin in Kings Beach

The stay was great, beds comfy, water hot and location was prime! When we got there we did notice a lot of black dog hair on the ground maybe from previous guests but other than that everything was great!

Beautiful, comfortable home

We loved our stay at The Great Escape. We did a lot of cooking and found everything we needed in the well stocked kitchen. Beds were comfortable for our family of 5. The back deck has nice, comfortable outdoor furniture with a dining table and grill. It was an easy walk to the beach and dinner/coffee. We would love to come back again.

Kings Beach Gem

We had a very good experience at this well-kept, clean, and conveniently located home in a quiet neighborhood. It was minutes from the restaurants in Kings Beach and Northstar. Home was very comfortable and spacious. One minor suggestion is it would have been nice to have some amenity items (shampoo. kleenex, lotion) for our stay. Other than that, we would definitely come again.

Kings beach dog friendly home

This is our second time at this home. We enjoy the open concept and the kitchen bar. It is stocked well with utensils and cookware. Master bedroom bed was very comfortable. The home is blocks away from the lake and a nice walk for the dog. There are new upgrades from last year that made it more enjoyable (removing the shower glass doors to a curtain) and adding another living room chair.

Our family just had a great stay at this property. The house was the perfect size for my husband, teen son, 10 year old daughter, 2 year old son, dog and me. The open kitchen layout was ideal for us to hang out as a family while my husband and I cooked meals. The house is located within walking distance to the beach. The couch and arm chair in the family room are a bit old but plenty comfortable. We found all the beds comfortable too. The house was very clean. The kitchen supplies like the pots and pans could use a refresh but they got the job done. Overall we had a lovely stay and enjoyed the house very much.

Quiet, close and easy.

easy walk to everything , quiet and relaxing though neighborhood of king beach is a mixed use area. Property was in good shape , great to have a nice deck and full size garage. Everything worked as expected. Could use a little cleaning around area rugs and couches. Experience with turnkey was excellent.

It is a nice home and included most supplies one needed. It is located in a neighborhood with houses very close (and normal noises). It is walking distance to beach and town but just know it is a bit of a hike and slightly uphill to return. On the weekdays in August it was easy to park closer to beach and town rather than walk. There is no blender which one of my friends needed for her smoothies.

Great Stay with family & our dog!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Clean and comfortable though one of the beds had a broken frame from previous guests it still worked out just fine. They offered an early checkin for that inconvenience. The home is just a few blocks from the lake and a nice walk for our dog. We would come back again.

Good space / could use some upkeep

Good space & great location. Generally as advertised. Could use some standard amenities restocked (laundry detergent, salt/pepper, toilet paper & trash bags). The 2x bar chairs at the kitchen island are so rickety none of us felt safe using them. They should def be replaced. The garbage disposal (insinkerator) in the kitchen sink kept tripping the main Circuit Breaker along w/the associated GFCI colocated with the switch. An electrician should come out.

No Lake Tahoe Chalet

The house was not very clean I had to vacuum when we arrived and there were little beads all over the floor we had a crawling baby so it was a risk. Floors and carpet were dirty. Downstairs shower door was broken and very difficult to get in and out of the shower 1/2 mile from the beach walking is doable if u have children or babies bring stroller. The kitchen is nice and well equipped The house need some updating and cleaning. Soap was watered down dish soap and hand soaps which is ridiculous. Only two pods for laundry and dishwasher. Could be better especially for the price

Nice getaway in North Tahoe

The property was clean and very accommodating. There is a bbq on the deck which was nice. Master bedroom was spacious. I like that there was a garage to park our vehicle. Instructions were entry to property was easy to follow. Bring your own games, puzzles, cards or books. The only night time entertainment was the TV, which was fine. Thank you for sharing your property.

Perfect home for a family!

Beautiful home and a very short walk to the beach. It was nice that the home was well-stocked with any cooking utensils/pans needed to make meals at home as well. Beds were all comfortable as well. We enjoyed our stay very much! Thank you!

Decent place and great loacation, POOR maintenance and cleaning

Overall the place was nice but had some serious issues with maintenance and cleaning! Vacasa is the management company and is clearly not willing to address any of the maintenance issues with their appliances. As previously reported on 2 reviews in May 2022 the glass shower door is STILL broken and is almost ready to fall off and slice up who ever is in the downstairs shower (liability issue), along with a metal piece of shower door being loose. The downstairs toilet wouldn't stop running (poor maintenance). The place was not properly cleaned (we had to wipe down all surfaces as there was sticky grime on the railing as you walk up, didn't trust prior cleaning). I had to fix the dryer (it only would run for 30 seconds) because the vents had never been cleaned, there were inches of built up lint (fire hazard), inside the dryer vents. The washing machine doesn't drain properly (as there's standing water in it) (maintenance issue). The dishwasher has about 1 inch of standing water in it (maintenance issue and gross). There was an uncapped coaxial cord sticking out of the baseboard right next to a bedroom doorway (liability issue if you have little kids or pets). Local Vacasa team contacted me to come over and fix the issues 1 day AFTER I had checked out (clearly they don't even know what's going on at their own properties). And Vacasa's management team still has not contacted me 1 week (5 business days) later (after I reported all the issues), even though I was assured that they would look in to providing a partial refund for all the issues we encountered. Overall not impressed with the management company!! The place had a good location and slept 6 adults easily and was dog friendly. Other than that they need to fix and keep up with maintenance for their appliances in this house, as well as lower their cleaning costs or improve the cleaning. I would not recommend this place if you plan to use their appliances or until Vacasa decides to fix up the place a bit.
