Rocky Point Guest House is a family owned and operated home located inside Yosemite National Park in the small community of Foresta. We're located inside the park boundary and entrance gates (meaning that you won't have to wait in line to enter the park each day) 7 miles from the Valley Floor. Our home boasts stunning views of Clouds Rest, Half Dome, and El Capitan from nearly every room in the house. While we have rented our property via another site for nearly 20 years with many returning guests, we are new to VRBO.

Beyond expectations!

The drive in to the park was incredible, we were coming in at the beginning of winter so were a bit worried about snow and ice but drove carefully. When we arrived to say we were blown away by the peace and tranquility would be an understatement. The view every day of the dome/valley and hills are incredible! The house is so cosy warm even with -8 degrees outside. The hosts have been nothing but incredible. There was a local power outage for a few hours that we required a bit of help from Hayley and Lynda and they were so attentive and helpful with an issue that wasn’t anything to do with them. Definitely hire a car and not a mustang in winter like we did. Made for a few scary moments. Get a 4 wheel drive truck as if the park put a r1 chain notice up you may still be ok to drive. All in all don’t hesitate on booking this place. The peace is perfect and your just far enough to be away from the hustle of the village for a relax in the evening.

Ideal in every way!!

Ideal house for a family trip to Yosemite!! In the park! Great views and sunsets are unreal. Great communication throughout the process. Well stocked with basics and lacked nothing! Would rent again 1000%!

Truly Incredible

My now-husband and I stayed at Lynda's phenomenal property during our elopement in Yosemite, and words and pictures truly don't do this place justice. The views are breathtakingly beautiful, the place is spacious and clean, and you have everything you could possibly need. The porch space is phenomenal and drinking coffee in the mornings out there while looking out at El Cap and Half Dome was priceless. The house was perfect for our elopement as we had easy access to all of the park, plenty of rooms for us to get ready separately and do a proper "first look", and a perfect kitchen with everything needed by the private chef we hired to cook us a celebratory elopement night dinner. Lynda's place will always hold a special place in our hearts and we can't imagine a more perfect setting for our intimate celebration!

Zen!!

The view is the best in the park. Simply stunning. We used the grill every night. Could spot 5-9 satellites each night. Loved star gazing.

Fabulous Stay

Our stay at Rocky Point was amazing. Beautiful views, perfect night skies, easy access to all parts of Yosemite, and we were all over the park in our time there. Very clean and comfortable accommodations. Lynda was so easy to work with, very responsive and accommodating. Would highly recommend a stay here, and I would stay again for sure!

Amazing place

This property is amazing: The views, the wildlife (we saw deer, heard coyotes very nearby), and the home itself. The home is very clean, in perfect condition, and comfortable - and it’s IN Yosemite National Park, a short drive from Yosemite Valley and other parts of the park. You won’t regret staying here.

Amazing Views

Our stay at Premier Yosemite/Foresta was amazing! We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck watching the sunrise and sitting on the deck in the evening after a long day at Yosemite. The drive up to the home is a little tricky but it is well worth it once you arrive. The home was well stocked with all the basic essentials that we needed, and Ms. Lynda communicated well with us before we arrived so that we could make a grocery stop well before arriving in order to have what we needed. She also provided lots of information for the area as well as maps and some magazines for us to look at. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely book a stay here. Thank you, Lynda, for everything!

Perfect Place To Stay On Our First Trip To Yosemite

This home in Foresta was perfect for our 3-night stay in Yosemite. The home is located inside the park so we didn’t have the long drive in and out each day. It’s fully stocked for everything we needed to grill in the evenings and enjoy coffee in the mornings. The beds and sheets were extremely comfortable, the house was spotless and the views were gorgeous. I spend a lot of time reviewing possible rentals on VRBO by reading comments and checking locations and I highly recommend this home. Tip – Yosemite does have a small grocery inside the park (The Village Store) which was nicely stocked, however, a little pricey. We picked up basics on our first night there then headed into Mariposa the morning of day 2 for our picnic & dinner supplies. Thank you Lynda for sharing your beautiful home to make Yosemite even more enjoyable.

Perfect stay

Amazing place just a 20-30min drive from the village. Property was so good we actually spent more time there than planned soaking up the views from the deck. Sunrise seeing the rays appear over Half dome were unforgettable.

Family Hiking Vacation

Perfect place for us to stay and visit Yosemite! The views were amazing and the owner was very responsive. We loved spending the day hiking in the park and then returning to cook dinner at Rocky Point.

Best place in the park!

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was nice to come back to a peaceful place with the best views after the hectic crowds down in the valley! The house is even better in person than the pictures show. We experienced a California blackout one night. Lynda was so kind to check on us to make sure we were ok and we knew where supplies were during the outage. The covered back porch was so pleasant to sit at night even with record breaking temperatures. It was also nice to cook outside on the grill every night and eat outside as that side of the porch was shaded at dinner time. I would highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful home close to Yosemite Valley

I booked this home a year ago to enjoy a Mother's Day weekend with my two adult daughters (who live several hours from us). It was the view of Half Dome from the living room window that sold me. Since we booked, my husband has faced major health issues that make family time precious. The price was worth the prospect of a visit free of issues. In short, we had a lovely time. The home is nicely decorated with beautiful wood trim. Very comfortable furnishings. You will feel right at home and find everything you need. I was fortunate to visit when the lilac bush was blooming, which was a nice addition to the view when I sat outside every evening. My daughter especially enjoyed all the informative posters on local flora and fauna. Despite the slow, winding drive through the neighborhood, it was just 30 min. to Yosemite Village. If you're looking to get away from it all, this is the place.

Yosemite dream location

Linda was a wonderful host. Provided information in advance and was easy to connect with when we had any questions. The house is in a great location, had everything needed to enjoy your stay and had spectacular views. Couldn't imagine a better place to stay in Yosemite!

Unbelievable Location!

We’re a senior couple from the upper Midwest that made this bucket list trip with our adult daughter. We can’t say enough good things about this property. Everything that you could possibly need to make your stay is here. I looked at other VRBO properties that were almost half the price, but decided we may never be here again so we splurged and secured this property. The price per night is absolutely worth it! Don’t hesitate to rent this, it’s worth it! Loved the fresh flowers the owner put in the house for us.

Wonderful house for visiting Yosemite

We loved the house! It felt like a bit of a drive from town at first, but it turned out to be pretty easy to go back and forth to Yosemite Village and all the activities, and the road to the house had lovely views. The view from the house was fantastic! We appreciated all the little decorative touches, and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.

Perfect House in Perfect Place

We have stayed in Foresta in Yosemite a dozen times but Rocky Point was the best. The house location is breathtaking, the house was spotless and well equipped, and the host Lynda provided excellent communication.

Best place in Yosemite

Perfect accommodations with ideal location to explore locally and central to all that the Yosemite Valley, Wawona and Glacier Point have to offer. Comfortable home away from home with all the amenities needed for our 8 night stay. Lynda was a very gracious and responsive owner; would do it all over again!
