Booking canceled while we were on our way
We stayed in this house a few years back and had a great time. Unfortunately this time there was an issue with the house and the owner had to cancel our reservation a few hours before check in. I fully understand that side of it and have no issues with the owner or the house. My issue is with the property manager, Connect Coastal, who A) made no effort to reach out to us to notify us of the cancelation, B) had no idea it was even canceled, and C) made no effort to assist us after the fact. I happened to come across the cancelation email while checking my phone on the way to the location. Their reply after I reached out was a generic email notification that was left blank with their recommendations for other properties. Then there is the issue with VRBO, who was not helpful in any way. After reaching out to them for assistance as we were already on our way with two families with kids, they told us that we had to get to the location before they could assist. Being that we didn’t have any options and put our faith in them that they would make it right, we continued our drive. When we reached out again a few hours later, we were told that our only option was to find something on Expedia or hotels.com. There were no options for houses near a beach, only the general hotels in the area. VRBO doesn’t offer options for booking same day on their site. We did not locate anything comparable to what we originally booked. At the end, a different booking site saved the day!
