Really enjoyed our stay, so close to the bay. Very clean, room to spread out for my family. Loved the porch ! And the living room was very spacious . Close to the town, walkable even. Just met all our needs. Owner was very quick to answer some questions. We would definitely like to stay here again in the future.

Excellent house and location! We loved being so close to the beach, in a quiet area with little traffic, while also having plenty of destinations within driving distance - the ferry, Cape Henlopen, downtown Lewes, bike trails, even mini golf! The upstairs room was perfect for children, with toys and books and plenty of space to play. The house was cozy and comfortable - a great contribution to a relaxing vacation.The host was very helpful and responsive with many ways of communications (email, text)

The house was very clean, cozy and comfy! The tv room was very large with a nice big tv for nighttime movies. We enjoyed the screened porch on the back and the fire pit patio area. Very short walk to the beach. John was very easy to communicate with and replied quickly to my questions.

This is a great cottage very close to the beach. Our family of five had more than enough room. We really enjoyed our relaxing and rainy weekend. The cottage is a quick walk or drive to town. The beds were comfortable. The decor is very old school (which we appreciated). Jim is gracious in offering use of anything onsite. He’s very responsive before the visit and checks in while visiting. Overall great first time in Lewes (even though it rained a lot we loved it)

The place was absolutely beautiful! Bed was firm and comfortable. Everything was clean and adorable. Kitchen had many tools and amenities.

The house was larger than the photos suggested, it was very well stocked, and worked well for us. The owner checked in with us, which was nice, and we enjoyed hearing that the house had been in the family for a long time. The location was really perfect - a short walk to the beach, yet close to town and other attractions.

Very comfortable, perfect accommodations for the five of us. We loved gathering together every evening in the large family room, after our walk to the beach to watch the sunset. Excellent location for beach goers. Owner was easy to reach and very personable.

Great location! Just steps from the beach! We rented bikes and could reach everything in the town easily. Dairy Queen was a nightly treat!

Great location

Cute vintage beach house. Hard to beat proximity to the beach. Exceptionally responsive owner. Love the more quiet Lewes compared to Rehoboth. My family and I very much enjoyed our stay.

We had such a fantastic stay at this beach house! The location is absolutely perfect — just one block from the beach, which made it super easy to walk back and forth throughout the day. It was so nice not having to worry about parking or lugging beach gear too far.The house itself was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were wonderful — super helpful, responsive, and made sure we felt right at home. We had such a memorable trip and can’t wait to come back again!

Great location!

The only thing different was the new sofa, which we greatly appreciated! We even used it as a “crate” area for our dog. She even had a great time! I recommend this house!

The house gave each of us privacy at night and an outdoor gas grill for a special dinner. The master bedroom was perfect for my 91 year old mother! Both family rooms have comfortable couches. Relaxing after fun days was easy! The area is beautiful with wonderful walks. We spent an afternoon in Rehoboth and the rest of the time in Lewes and Henlopen State Park. We had a great time. Thank you!

Real deal beach house

Great house, excellent location, engaged host. We were traveling with young children and appreciated how the common area was away from bedrooms so that we didn’t have to tiptoe around at night. Also great outdoor space. If you want to feel at home at the beach, this is the place!

Nice place with a few caveats

We had a lovely stay. The house was well stocked and clean. The porch was lovely. The host was very available. Stepdowns between rooms and challenging access to attic bedroom were concerns, particularly for an older member of our party.

Lovely stay

The host, John, is a great communicator. The house is very well stocked and set up. The beach was so close and we loved the bay and Cape Henlopen State Park. The screened in porch was pretty and relaxing and the outdoor shower was great. This was our first trip to Lewes and we didn’t get to spend time in the town but it looked very charming. We bought wonderful fresh bread and cold cuts and Lloyd’s market. A lovely visit.

Beach house

We had a great time! The house is just steps away from the beach. Spent quite a bit of time on the screen porch. We actually had a warm beach day in April which was a nice surprise. Communication with the owner was great, very responsive. Would definitely consider staying again.

Nice, well-provisioned home

We loved our visit to this sweet house half a block from the beach on the Delaware Bay. Easy walking distance to downtown Lewes. The three bedrooms were clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked as the house continues to be a vacation home for the family that owns it. It has a nice large living room and screened porch as well as a good-sized dining room. We would definitely rent here again. It was also very quiet.

I was raised just south of Columbus, Ohio. My parents bought this cottage in 1970 and it has been a labor of love for all of us since then. I now split my time between Lewes and Kansas City. The best part of my year is when all of some of my 4 daughters, 3 granddaughters, 2 sisters, and friends descend upon Lewes in June or July. It is the most fun!!

My parents chose it in 1970. 5 of the 6 houses have neighbors I grew up with. Our generation, our children, grandchildren, and soon to be great grandchild spent endless hours on the beach and water together. We all learned to sail and water ski together.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

1 minute to the beach dunes. I make enhancements to make it more comfortable, fun, and convenient every year. So clean. The beds and furniture are the most comfortable. Jump on a bike from the shed and be in historic downtown Lewes in 5 minutes or walk their in 15. Lewes Bake Shoppe has the best pastries and coffee starting at 7 AM each day. Lot's more. I do my best to make it affordable for families.
