Welcome to the Driftwood House! This home sits atop of a hill across the street from the Pacific Ocean with breathtaking views of the water, surrounding islands and Mt Edgecumbe Volcano and is the perfect place to escape and unwind with family and loved ones. With comfortable furnishings and a wall of ocean facing windows you will truly be captivated.

Enter the newly remodeled home with the large open spaces to spread out and create a cozy comfortable vacation.

The spacious open kitchen has a large island that family and friends can gather around to spend quality time together. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials to prepare your feast, and we get you started with basic seasonings, tea and coffee.
The dining area has seating for 8 guests and the panoramic views out the windows are spectacular as you prepare and dine on your meals.

There are two comfortable seating options for visiting and relaxing. The tv viewing area has a large smart tv for downloading your streaming service, and an incredibly comfortable sectional for spreading out and watching your favorite tv show or movie with the ambiance of an electric fireplace. The sitting/game area overlooks the expansive deck and pristine front row seat to watch the fishing boats, look for whales, sea lions and eagles and just be mesmerized by the ocean.

Very spacious and well furnished. The kitchen was exceptionally well supplied. The rooms had all the furnishings and amenities we could want. As a bonus the view from the deck was spectacular.

We were in town for a baseball tournament. Close to the field, town, and grocery store. Lots of space for our group and beautiful view. Would definitely book again.

We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend this property. The views were incredible. We spent so much time watching bald eagles from the windows! The home was spotless, the beds were very comfortable, and it was one of the best-equipped vacation rentals we've stayed in. The kitchen had everything we needed, including plenty of cookware, dishes, a tea kettle, and even tissues (which I always seem to pack because so many rentals don't provide them). There was a large dining table for our group, lots of cozy seating, and thoughtful touches like plenty of hooks and a tray for wet or dirty shoes at the entry.The only minor drawbacks were that the second bathroom shower is quite small, and we had a couple of small maintenance issues with the dryer and one bedroom shelf. Neither affected our stay in any meaningful way.Overall, it's clear the owners have put a lot of thought into making guests comfortable, and we would happily stay here again.

Lots of room, comfy beds, very well-appointed place. Great views, books to read, has fire place. A drive outside of town but worth it!

Gorgeous views and clean as a whistle!

Four of us stayed to celebrate my 50th. The views were stunning and the house was spotless! We are happy we rented a car to get back & forth to town. The kitchen had absolutely everything you could need for a family meal. The host even provided coffee & snacks upon our arrival. Don’t hesitate-totally worth it!

Family Christmas

My family gathered here for 5 days over Christmas. The weather was bad so we stayed inside a lot. The unit was very accommodating with several different gathering spots. The large dining table allowed for multiple puzzles and games to be played. There was also a large island in the kitchen, a reading area and a living room with a large, comfortable sectional. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. I highly recommend The Driftwood and would stay here again.

Incredible home with fantastic views

My family including hubby and I, three grown children and a 10 year old grandson stayed at the house for 5 days. The pictures do not show how big the house is. Starts with a landing that allows us to leave wet or dirty shoes before going upstairs to the huge kitchen and family room. There are two lounging areas which gives the family space to either be together or get some some room. The furniture in both rooms are incredibly comfortable. We used the large dining table for multiple meals that my daughters cooked in the very well appointed kitchen. The host provided everything needed to cook for 6 (or more). The bedrooms and baths were very comfortable and included upgraded linens and towels. We spent the most time on the huge deck with views of the water to watch the sea lions, boats and the eagles. At times we could see as many as 12 eagles at one time. We are grateful to have selected the Driftwood house and highly, highly recommend it to others.

Comfortable house, picky owners

We were in Sitka visiting family who live there. This was not our first visit. We paid over 6k for a week stay, which is on the upper end of vacay house pricing. The house was in a nice location off the main road. This rental is NOT the entire house, just the upstairs. The downstairs is occupied. This was not clear in the listing. The house, in general, was clean and reasonable. A twin bed broke from typical use. We were charged for this. We were also accused of taking items from the house, which is very untrue. Who steals an end table? I would advise caution in choosing this home due to that factor. Otherwise, the house was fine.

Unfortunately this guest was not happy and we are sorry her visit did not go as planned. We were perplexed to find a few items missing and still have not located them. We were disappointed in the lack of respect for our furnishings and accessories and the condition the house was left in upon departure. We value all our guests and hope they care for our property as we would take care of theirs. Listed under notes in the description, it clearly states that this house has a separate apartment so this should not have been a surprise. Yes, Sitka rental prices are high especially for larger homes that sleep eight or more guests and this home even comes with spectacular ocean views and wildlife viewing.
