Welcome to Catahoula Lodge! This beautifully renovated mountain cabin is situated on 4+ acres of wooded privacy. Inside you will find spacious bedrooms, maple hardwood flooring, brand new bathrooms and new cabinets, countertops and appliances! Two wood stoves and a beautiful rock chimney provide that great cabin experience. Step outside and enjoy the wrap-around porches that surround all sides of the house. A beautiful mountain stream at our northern border completes the outdoor options--great
spot to play in the water or have a picnic. The large fenced yard provides security for kids or pets.
Located just 1-1/2 miles south of Dupont State Park and five miles north of Ceaser's Head, this is the perfect location for hiking, biking, horseback riding, waterfalls and so much more! The turnoff for the Pretty Place chapel is just three miles to the south--with spectacular views of the South Carolina panorama. We are about 10 minutes from Brevard--voted one of the best small towns in America! Brevard is loaded with art galleries, pottery and weaving, excellent restaurants and shopping. Hendersonville has even more and is about 15 miles to the east. Asheville is north about 30 miles.
The house offers a private and quiet setting to enjoy the outdoors. Two HD satellite TV's and Wifi keep you in touch with the outside world. Toughest decision of your day? Rocking chair, porch swing or hammock? Wonderful Cabim

Our stay was great. Visited the pretty place chapel for aun raise for one of my sons that passed in December 07,2024 but we only had buried him 2 weeks prior and it was his 21st birthday. Wonderful place to relax and enjoy sharing memories of Jacob..

Great get away from the hustle and busyness of Florida.

Very spacious for our group of 5 adults! Kitchen was well stocked. Loved the wood burning stoves that add the perfect warmth and coziness. Perfect location near a lot of hiking, Pretty Place is a must see! The fenced in yard was perfect for our dogs. Will definitely check availability if in the area again. Owner was very responsive and accommodating.

Beautiful Cabin

Stayed here three nights with my family and loved it. The cabin was very spacious and clean. We loved the porch and fire pit. The cabin felt secluded and that’s what we were looking for. We would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed our day

We had a great time, we were very close to the Pretty Place Chapel, where we were performing a Wedding. We some hiking and touring as well as a Pontoon ride on Lake Lure. All and all a great time and the facilities were great.

Perfect for our family

The house's location was perfect as it was close to DuPont, Brevard, and Pisgah National Forest. The property itself was spacious and private, providing the perfect getaway for us and our pets. The fenced-in yard was a huge plus! We loved spending evenings by the fire pit, and the house was comfortable and well-equipped. The owners were very responsive when we had questions. We would stay here again.

My kind of place.

Great stay close to “The Pretty Place” for a wedding. Groom and his family stayed here. Plenty of room to spread out. Would stay again if ever needed.

The house is in a convenient location, so we enjoyed Hendersonville, Brevard, and DuPont Forest. Beautiful, wooded property with fall color. We found the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals, and we loved the pure pit! Will stay here again!

Girls weekend in the mountains

The property was exactly as listed. Our pups and my friend and I really enjoyed our stay. The location was close to Brevard. We both really enjoyed covered porch.

Quiet and Convenient

Perfect location for our visits to Dupont and Brevard. Beds were very comfortable, gas grill was in great condition, and the outside firepit and inside fireplace topped off two great days. An excellent value.

Another Perfect Stay at Catahoula Lodge

This is our the second time visiting Catahoula Lodge and once again it did not disappoint. Plenty of space and a perfect setup for a relaxing vacation in the mountains/woods. We found the beds comfy, wood stove warm and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. We’ll definitely be back!

Best Christmas vacation!!!

The house was perfect for my family of 9, we all loved the house, the property, the location. There was enough space for everyone without feeling crowded during our 2 days indoors because of the rain. Having the Dupont State Forest right around the corner was awesome for hiking and waterfall viewing. And we enjoyed snow tubing at Moonshine Mountain, that was an easy drive only 30 minutes away. Lastly, we enjoyed breakfast/lunch at the Creekside Market and Grill right around the corner there in Cedar Mountain.

property overall was roomy for a family trip but a few things should be updated beds were uncomfortable bath towels were old cleaning service should do a better job (kitchen drawers, cobwebs)

Fun getaway

We enjoyed our stay in Cedar Mountain with its close proximity to Dupont State park. The cabin was great for our large family and the fenced in yard was wonderful for the dogs. I initially booked this property because of the stream on site, however there was no path leading to a stream so I did contact the owner who tried to re create a path, but it was very difficult to walk and the stream was very far from the property and not easily accessible. The home was equipped with everything needed to cook and clean so that was nice. I would recommend new towels as they smelt moldy and there were not enough for the size of the home.

Family Getaway

We are from Murphy. We have close friends in Brevard. This propert way exactly what we were looking for. Our dogs were welcome and the property was perfect for them. We felt right at home here. The house was well equipped. There was nothing that was forgotten. We look forward to coming back in the fall.
