Historical Downtown Cottage with Hot Tub

Welcome to your downtown cottage retreat in this renovated 1914 home. After a day of Black Hills adventuring enjoy dinner & a movie, or a relaxing soak in the hot tub. With luxury mattresses & linens you will be sure to leave feeling refreshed. Located less than a mile from restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, and hiking in the Skyline Wilderness. Minutes from SDSM&T, Monument Health, the Civic Center, Mt Rushmore Rd the gateway to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park and more!

This simple house is the perfect landing pad to rejuvenate you for all your Black Hills adventuring.

It's a two level 2 bedroom/1.5 bathroom house. Both bedrooms are located on the second level. The master bedroom sports a king memory foam bed with organic bamboo sheets. The second bedroom offers a queen memory foam bed with organic bamboo sheets.

The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, baking sheets, utensils, dishes, and all that you'll need to cook your own meal. If you prefer going out for coffee simply take a stroll downtown to Harriet and Oak for an amazing espresso.

The beautiful living room seating double as a conversation area or cozy movie night setting. The TV uses Roku which allows you to log into your accounts and stream your favorite shows. The window desk offers work time with a view and reliable wifi.

Outside you'll find a propane grill and an outdoor table with chairs where you can enjoy a delicious home cooked meal. After dinner soak in the warm hot tub and allow your muscles and mind to relax before a great night's sleep.

Guests will have access to house and fenced in back yard area. There is one parking spot available in front of the house and ample street parking.

The historic district offers beautiful scenery for a morning stroll or after dinner walk.

Hiking and walking trails in the beautiful Skyline Wilderness Park are a couple blocks west up nearby St. Cloud Street.

Vacation is supposed to be relaxing, fun, and a time to create special memories with those you love. That's why we do not include a laundry list of cleaning requirements before you leave. Our desire is that you have a refreshing stay and those memories continue to bring you joy for years to come.

If you need any kid/baby items please let us know, so we can have those ready for your stay.

This is a great place to stay - centrally located, quiet neighborhood. The hot tub was a nice bonus. Loved the fenced yard for my dogs.

Love the old charm of this place. Location was great and not a busy neighborhood. Stayed for 4 nighrs, Beds were super cumphy. Back yard was perfect for our 2 great danes to be able to run off energy and loved the little swing chair in the middle of the yard. Hot tub was a great bonus, we used it nightly. Host was quick to respond to any questions we had. Would definitely consider this place for another stay next time.

We stayed here for three action-packed days, and found it to be a great place because:Close - House was within walking distance of downtown Rapid City, with lots of places to eat and centrally located for driving to Mount Rushmore, the Badlands, and Hot Springs.Clean - House was spotless. We also noticed that the kitchen was excellently equipped with dishes and appliances.Comfortable - Excellent mattresses and linens in the bedrooms, Even though the outside temperatures were in the 90s, both the upstairs and downstairs were well cooled. Excellent water pressure in the shower. House was well-decorated and uncluttered with lots of handy places to set things.

Wonderful stay

Loved it!

Excellent property! The host was communicative and friendly, and the house was charming and well-stocked for guests. Most comfortable beds and pillows I've ever slept on. Great home base for our excursions, would absolutely stay here again!!

July Family reunion

This house was perfect! We were here for a family reunion. It had everything we needed. Hot tub came in handy at end of the day. Love the decor and all the extras. My grandkids especially loved the basket of magnet tiles.

Walking inside the home was warm, cozy and welcoming. It was the perfect mix of antique and modern. The beds and bedding were exquisitely comfortable. There is a deep clawfoot tub and a modern shower. Everything we needed was exactly where we needed it. Towels, extra bedding, glasses, dishes and coffee. We loved the hot tub. Everything was ambient and relaxing. The host stayed in communication, checked on us to make sure everything was perfect. Can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful

We spent a fantastic week in Rapid City at this property. It is spacious, thoughtfully decorated, and is well-stocked for everything you might need for a longer stay. The beds were also super comfortable. The backyard was a great addition for our pups! Lana was a great host who always responded quickly. Highly recommend the property!

Location, Amenities, and Charm

We had a great time in Rapid City, and staying at this beautiful house was part of that. It is centrally located, easy access to downtown and all the attractions/activities in the area. The back yard was awesome for our dog to run around, and us to enjoy with a large bench for seating and the umbrella to cover us from a passing rain shower. The house is well maintained, and has the charm of an old farmhouse but with updated amenities. I would definitely stay here again.

Graduation

My cousin and I came down for graduation and came in late at night. The house was easy to find and was perfect in every way. The beds are beyond comfortable and the house is clean and very well stocked. The fully fenced in yard was perfect for the dogs to run and play and the hot tub was perfect. We have added this house to our favorites list.

Every Detail Covered!

I've stayed at several VRBO properties and I've never experienced such clear and concise communication with the property owner/manager - and I've never experienced every little detail/item that could be thought of that a guest would need - stocked and ready for us to use if so desired. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The location was excellent and the house worked perfectly for our family. Thank you for being an A+ property owner/manager!

The Place to Stay!

The host and the house were wonderful! It was very clean, spacious and in a great location. Easy walking distance to downtown. The backyard was a perfect size for our dogs. The kitchen is well stocked from spices, foil and parchment paper, to ziplock bags and sealable containers. Dishwashing pods are provided, along with soaps, shampoo and conditioner, blow dryer and a curling iron in the bathroom. Don’t forget to check out the board games in the living room. These little things made our stay just that much more enjoyable. We would highly recommend staying here!

Amazing experience

Having never used Vrbo before I was not sure what to expect. This superseded all of my expectations. Everything was perfect. Easy instructions, no cleaning required, and the host was so kind! This home is well cared for and the hot tub was phenomenal. I would stay here over and over. I would rate this experience an 11 out of 10.

Perfect Long Weekend

We stayed during the first few days of a 2-week trip west and it was a great start to our vacation. The house has so much character and has been modernly updated with any and all conveniences a person could want or need. The beds are extremely comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked and the living space so comfortable as well. Backyard space and hot tub was perfect. Our dog, who was a good sport having to be in the car so long loved running in the fenced yard. Our host was great to work with though we didn’t need to contact her once we arrived as there was nothing we didn’t have. Great instructions and local tips provided too. Loved our time there!

We Absolutely loved it

This was our first time staying at a rental property and am I glad we did. Lana was very intuitive with her communication and readiness to provide support as needed. The house was so charming. Some of our hotels weve stayed in almost like a fancy place where you dont want to mess things up. We didn't mess things up but felt like we were home. There were puzzles and blocks and we were able to watch movies on the streaming services. My daughter and I enjoyed the hottub it was clean, easy to use and Lana left clear details on howto keep things that way. We especially loved being centrally located to all the things we wanted to do. We took our 2 dogs and toys and bowls were provided. I cant think of anything that we needed that the host did not ensure was available. We go to SD every Thanksgiving and We would absolutely consider renting again.and

Such a great stay! The owner was responsive and very nice! The home was the best home away from home my family and I have ever stayed at. You will not be disappointed if you choose to book here. The beds were very comfortable, as well as the pull out couch. The bedding was lovely, the shower and bath were clean and tidy, there was even shampoo and conditioner- which I didn’t expect, but very thankful for. The kitchen was impeccable. The owner had very simple rules, essentially just respect the property, put the cleaner in hot tub after each use, wash up the dishes you use. The owner sends it in a very short and easily digestible message. Many of the other listings for rental homes had so many rules it felt too overwhelming to even want to choose them; here they are simple and 1000% reasonable- essentially it’s just how you’d take care of your own home. You should absolutely choose to stay here, you will not regret it. :)
