Wake up to the sound of the ocean in this beautiful beachfront home with all the amenities! Perfect for family rental or extended stay for graduate students and faculty of local universities (Yale, Southern CT State University, Quinnipiac University). All the amenities you could ask for in this updated ocean view home: central heat and air-conditioning, high speed internet and wifi, cable TV, three bedrooms, 1 ½ baths and additional outside shower, gas grill on the patio, porch overlooking Long Island Sound and the beach front. The grand room on the first floor has large picture windows for an unmatched panoramic views of Long Island Sound. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare your favorite meals. Don't worry, we've got everything you need for a lobster cookout too!

Upstairs, the master bedroom is large, with a king size bed and plenty of room for a crib or Pack and Play. It even has a balcony that overlooks the sea. The other bedrooms are perfect for the kids, one has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds.

The beautiful ocean view, updated amenities, and comfortable living space are captured in the photos, but it’s best to come experience it for yourself, or ask someone that’s stayed here. This beach side getaway is in a fantastic neighborhood, close to downtown. We even have beach toys for the kids!

Wonderful Beach Home

Fantastic view

Even though the weather was rainy and cloudy, we loved our stay at this lovely place!! The view is fantastic of the ocean from the upstairs & front of the house even through the rain & fog. I agree, it’s a million dollar view!!!! John has done a great job of decorating. It felt so homey. Best equipped VRBO house we have stayed. Comforty bed. Great area to walk and look at lovely homes. I highly recommend this place!

My daughter’s family lives near by- we didn’t want to crowd them. Everything about this cottage was wonderful- clean, comfortable and location cannot be beat! Kitchen well stocked- really-wouldn’t change a thing. Want to come back when it’s warm enough to use the beach. Highly recommend

Fabulous family vacation!

This is a beautiful beach house with a million dollar view! Our family loved the beach and all of the beach toys provided. Highly recommend this property to families of all ages!

Perfect for a family

This house is absolutely perfect for a family with small children. There was so many kids toys and sand toys. It kept the kids so entertained! The little beach is so cute and wonderful for little kids. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s even better in person!

Perfect Location

We had a wonderful vacation staying at this house. The owner was great and the home was well stocked. There were even kids toys and beach toys!! The location was fantastic, as well.

Amazing stocked and a perfect vacation!

This rental is the best one we have stayed at yet! The house was amazing stocked. All the paper goods, cleaning/laundry supplies, children's toys/books, beach toys/inflatables, bath linens, bedding, kitchen goods, etc. that you could possibly need! The location was impossible to beat, the private but, shared community, beach was just steps from the back deck. Everyone in the neighborhood was incredibly welcoming and friendly! Our stay was everything we hoped for and more!

Fabulous family summer vacation!

We rented this house for our adult children and grandchildren ages 5, 7 and 10. We live on the same stretch of beach but needed the extra space. The house was absolutely perfect!! Right on the beach, gorgeous view, abundance of beach toys, floats, house games etc. Well stocked kitchen and immaculate house inside and out! Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a spectacular fun filled summer vacation!!

Very special home to rent!

Our week here was just perfect! We are originally from Connecticut, and we’re visiting friends and family this week. It was the perfect house to hang out and by ourselves, or invite local friends and family over for some beach time. The house is an old-fashioned Connecticut shoreline beach house which is exactly what we were looking for. It is clean and very well appointed with many amenities including a fully functioning kitchen, plenty of towels, and comfortable bedding. Check in was easy and John was super helpful with any questions we had. The neighborhood is very local, and we met a lot of great people who were very welcoming of us. We cannot wait to come back and stay again!

Perfect Vacation

A stay at Algonquin is like stepping back in time (albeit it with cable and great wifi). The beautiful vintage cottage has a million dollar view and the location is so peaceful. We made many new friends as we hung out on the patio all day, literally steps from the beach. Everyone in the neighborhood seems to know each other through families that go back for generations, yet made us newcomers feel very welcome. The cottage had everything we needed and the owners were very responsive to any inquiries. The house is cozy, relaxed and comfortable. We biked, kayaked and floated in the sound every day: all the equipment was there for us! We took endless walks around the neighborhood, and found ourselves at Sunset Beach each night to, of course, watch the sunset. We made most our meals at the house, which was well equipped for preparing everything, and enjoyed dining overlooking the LI Sound. (One shout-out to The Stand in Branford - we had two great meals there, including on BBQ night - what a fun atmosphere!) I can't think of a thing that was missing from our wonderful stay. We were so fortunate to find this treasure and dream of returning soon.

Perfect beach house

Our family enjoyed a beautiful sunny week steps away from the beach at this house. The location was perfect for our 2 year old twins to play at the beach for a little while and then stay close to the house without having to lug everything home. The view is priceless and very relaxing.

Hidden Gem on the Connecticut Coast

We had a wonderful time at this charming home on the Long Island Sound. The neighborhood is perfect for walking or biking. The water was calm and the provided kayaks were a huge hit. Beach access is literally out the back door. The kids, ages 8-13, all loved it and have already asked to come back next summer! This home has everything you could need, rustic New England charm and homeowners who were so great. Can’t wait to come back!

Relaxation with a View

My family and I had a totally wonderful experience at this comfortable, welcoming, and beautifully situated home. We spent almost all our time sitting out in the back, watching the water. The patio area has large table umbrellas for shade, and there is a grassy area and small beach for getting in some sunshine. Take a dip in the calm water to cool off, then return to sitting and relaxing. We made use of the kayaks that were available as well. The house has central air, which worked great. The first floor is spacious, and the large windows in the living room face the water. Upstairs, the master bedroom is huge, with sliding doors onto a deck where you can watch the waves, or observe the clouds float by in the evening. The other two bedrooms are a good size as well - the beds were comfortable - and the bathroom is stocked with plenty of towels. The only thing that could have made our stay better was for it to be longer. John and his family have provided an oasis - highly recommended.
