This unique and extremely private 20 acre property includes a home, pond, and acres of fields and woods. It borders the Guilford land trust which allows miles of trails outside the back door. This stunning and very peaceful setting hosts a variety of birds and wildlife. It is a natures lovers paradise! This Yankee Barn artistically designed home has a large open modern kitchen and living area, surrounded by windows to maximize the light and take in the scenery. Minutes from downtown historic Guilford, this beautiful town contains many restaurants and shopping as well as a costal community feel.

Sue's home was beautiful, comfortable and convenient. It comfortably held 6 of us. It was well appointed and had everything we needed. The location was perfect - very quiet but Route 95 and Route 1 were easily accessible. Sue was very communicative and easy to reach throughout our stay. I highly recommend this home for your next trip to the CT coast.

Our visit with family was enhanced by this spacious house and lovely grounds. There were 5 of us, ages 79 to 4, and the space provided us with quiet bedrooms even with additional young cousins bunking in one night. A well-equipped kitchen made cooking easy. Highly recommended!

My family and I had THE BEST time! The house is absolutely gorgeous and so quiet. It was amazing to sit in a quiet, peaceful home and get away. It was so nice to just get away and unplug for a little bit! The house was incredibly clean and fully stocked. We loved reading about the history of the home. So many wonderful memories were made! I would 1000% return.

We enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable and easily accommodated our family. We had no trouble with it, but the spiral staircase to the master bedroom might be difficult for an elderly person. Thanks!

We loved our stay! The house was so well kept up and had lots of homey touches most rental places don’t. We also just loved the view from the back deck. I highly recommend this property!

We had an excellent stay while celebrating our daughter’s graduation. The home was absolutely beautiful, and the property itself was gorgeous and very well maintained. Everything was exactly as advertised — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared for guests.The owners were wonderful to work with. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and they were very accommodating throughout our stay. We especially loved the unique and really cool layout of the house, which made the experience even more memorable. One of our favorite parts of the stay was the screened porch. We loved having breakfast and dinner out there each day. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable space to gather as a family. Overall, this was a fantastic Vrbo experience, and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Exceptional Home & Property

The setting is so private and serene, and the home is so warm and welcoming. It was the perfect place for our extended family to gather from near and far to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. Susanne & Brett are excellent hosts.

Hidden gem in Connecticut

The property was so unique and peaceful (loved the trail behind the house.) The house was beautiful inside and out, it was such a great little getaway! Truly a hidden gem in Connecticut. I’m looking forward to coming back!!

This is an amazing property that was a perfect place for our girls trip/reunion in our home town. So much, beautiful space inside and out. I would highly recommend this one-of-a-kind find. The owners were such a pleasure - every detail was thought of. We will be back!!

What a unique and beautiful retreat! This is a home with a fabulous family history on a gorgeous piece of property. Learn about the Indian profile in the glacial rock on the property. Hiking opportunities abound, but the screen porch beckons for a relaxing afternoon watching the birds. A great location convenient to the Guilford green, restaurants and quaint shops.

Guilford Gem

Outstanding, unique country home in a gorgeous private setting. High end furnishings with so many relaxing rooms, fireplaces and screened in porch with amazing deck. The landscaping is exceptional and is the best I have ever seen at VRBO 5 star homes. We stayed a week and are coming back next summer for two weeks. Everything was perfect, especially the hosts.

We enjoyed our stay

Suzanne was a wonderful host from start to finish. After a frustrating ordeal to make my reservation on a similar website I was pleased to find Suzanne’s listing on here and did not hesitate to book. The house was at a secluded location which we didn’t mind, all the amenities we needed for out stay was available, house was clean and checking in and out was a breeze. Our host was even kind enough to hang out a couple hours longer that our checkout time which was greatly appreciated. Thanks again!!

Gorgeous Property and Excellent Communication

We had a lovely stay in their beautiful home. They were so amazing and communicative. The only thing, is the master bed was extremely firm so I had to make some adjustments (layered on lots of blankets, which they had plenty) and I never voiced that concern directly to them because I was able to use blankets. But other than that, amazing stay. My kids thought it was so cool and missed it when we left. We even got visited by a flock of wild turkeys! Would stay here again.

LADIES GET-AWAY #26

We are a group of 5 OLD friends who are scattered around the country and try to get together every summer. We had spent many get-togethers in Guilford early on, and decided to come back "home". The house was really nice and homey in a beautiful natural setting. Serene and quiet. We spread ourselves out, and we cooked in a generously stocked kitchen. The appliances were all very useful, and I have never seem such a clean washing machine! A really great place to which we felt very welcomed.

Lovely country property!

The house has alot of character and a variety of living spaces on the 3 levels. Lots of light from ceiling to floor windows. Kitchen supplies of spices, teas, condiments, and kitchen ware were plentiful. Instructions for the TVs, fireplace, thermometers were very specific and helpful. The garage entrance is just 1 step into the house which is helpful for older folks. The owners were very receptive to our questions during the process and while we were at the house. Plenty of games, blankets, pillows. We enjoyed our visit and would return to this house!

Wonderful visit in Guilford

We recently stayed at Sue and Brett’s home in Guilford and are so pleased with our choice. From the outset Sue and Brett were very communicative and they did everything possible to ensure we had a great stay. Check-in was a breeze as we had all the information we needed in advance and the keyless entry was easy. The house and property are beautiful! We enjoyed walking and mountain biking on the trails that are literally right out the back door. What amazing access! The setting is very peaceful and ideal for relaxing. The house is well equipped, with a great kitchen and dining room for entertaining. It was a bit chilly in late November for spending time in the screened in porch, but I could easily see how it would be a great spot in the summer and fall. We did however enjoy time by the fireplace reading with a nice glass of wine. Thanks to Sue and Brett for making our Thanksgiving stay so memorable. We will be back!

A home away from home...

Our family very much enjoyed staying here; it truly was a home away from home. It was everything that we expected and more - a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, and a quiet, woodsy setting. Having a bedroom and bathroom on the main floor was perfect for the grandparents. We spent much time on the deck and in the screened-in porch watching and listening to the many birds around the property. It's a short walk to the pond and several trails that lead to the land trust. We never turned on a TV! WiFi service was very good, which was important for a family member who needed to work periodically during our stay. The house is within 10 minutes of Bishop's Orchards Farm Market, downtown Guilford, and Jacob's Beach (and 30 minutes from Quinnipiac University - we were in town for a graduation). Brett and Susanne were very responsive to any questions, and the pictures accurately represent the features of the home. If we need to stay in the area again, we would definitely come back here. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Outstanding property , very well kept and decorated. Beautiful New England vibes and view, nestled in a coastal forest. The grounds are vast, natural and private. Home is large and would easily handle a large family gathering, comfortably sleeping 8-10. Kitchen and dining room are fully appointed and wonderful.Note: Upstairs large primary bedroom is only accessible via a gorgeous, yet narrow, cast iron staircase.
