Welcome to the M3 Ranch, a working cattle ranch with a gorgeous newly renovated cottage, the perfect place for a relaxing and romantic getaway. Enjoy your morning coffee or late afternoon cocktail sitting on the front porch listening to and enjoying the breathtaking views of the Pigeon River and Smoky Mountains. Take a short stroll down to your private river access. In the evening enjoy the fire-pit, make s’mores, or dinner on the charcoal grill.

Activities abound year-round, hiking, fishing, tubing & rafting in spring, summer and autumn with snow skiing in the winter. If you are looking for outings, Asheville, Maggie Valley, Waynesville, Bryson City and Cherokee are just a short drive.

All the rooms in the private cottage have mountain views. The newly completed top-to-bottom renovation includes gas fireplace, luxurious bathroom with dual shower heads & jetted soaking tub. Primary bedroom has a queen bed, dresser and ample closet. The additional room has a futon, dressing table and wardrobe rack. All new appliances in the spacious kitchen and open dining room. We offer free wi-fi, washer & dryer, Roku live television, AC & heat.

We had a great time, the property was more than we expected. It was located very close to everything we wanted to do. The peaceful setting and the wonderful sounds of the river made this experience great. Our host Molly was more than accommodating and very gracious, she helped put our trip over the top!!!

This cabin was so comfy and had everything we needed to relax in the quiet countryside, while conveniently located near so many places to explore among the mountains. It was easy to get to, the bed was comfortable, and it felt like home.

This beautiful and cozy cabin is beautiful itself, but is also situated on beautiful property by the river. My wife, pup, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the little treats and details the owner threw in. The owner communicated with us very well in advanced of our stay. However, one question I asked after arriving didn't get answered, but it was not a big deal. Would book again.

The cottage was great. Very spacious and the location was easy to get to. The river was beautiful and the fireflies in the evening were enchanting. Highly recommend for a great getaway!!

Private, beautiful and a perfect place to disconnect from everything! The house itself is perfectly appointed and they have mastered the art of providing just enough things a house guest might want! I highly recommend.

The cabin and all of its surroundings were just perfect. It was spotless and so comfortable. So many thoughtful touches. We had such a wonderful trip. Molly was such a wonderful host from prior to check-in all the way through our stay. We definitely will be back. I highly recommend this property.

We really loved this place. Great location and very clean. Husband loved the river across the street. It was very nice listening to the water. Very romantic place for the two of us for our anniversary and his birthday month. Loved that the host left us a surprise for the occasion. We loved the bathroom with the his and her shower. Used the tub/jacuzzi a lot to relax after walking and hiking. We really loved the place and would stay again. Our host Molly was a very nice host, she was very helpful and loved the recommendation for places to eat and visit. Bed was very comfortable. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed. We would definitely stay again.

Our stay at the cottage was amazing with a few things standing out. The cleanliness was outstanding, the shower and tub was wonderful, and the sounds of the beautiful river across the street put us to sleep every night. The property was conveniently located to the neighboring town of Waynesville and a short drive to Maggie and Cherokee. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone and wouldn’t think twice about staying here again.

Hands down the best place my wife and I have stayed. Couldn’t really find anything negative to say or even any constructive criticism. The host was very polite, she had even left us an arrival gift when we checked in; the bed had fresh sheets, plenty of fresh towels, they even supplied soap, shampoo, and conditioner in the AMAZING shower. Listening to the river was great as well. 10/10 would stay here again

The cottage is on the Ranch property our parents established in 1986. Inspired by a trip to Scotland to explore Dad’s roots, they envisioned the Matheison Mountain Manor as a welcoming place to raise Scottish Highland cattle. Since then, M3 Ranch has seen the birth of many “hairy beasties.” While it remains a working ranch, Angus cattle now inhabit the pastures. Our mini Highland cattle, Buck and Bella, and their friend Happy, the miniature horse, represent the legacy of our parents’ dreams.
