We had an absolute blast at this cabin! The property was completely well-kept, spotless, and exactly as advertised in the listing. Everything was in great working order, making it easy to settle right in and relax.On top of the fantastic space, the host was super responsive, attentive, and helpful with any questions we had.If you're looking for an hassle-free stay at a wonderful location, I couldn't recommend this place more. We would love to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. There are two spacious rooms, and two modern, updated bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked with condiments, spices, coffee etc. The cabin and the surrounding area is very quiet and peaceful. It is located close to the Knik River, Palmer and only a 30 minute drive into Anchorage if you want to venture out in the city.

Great location, feels remote, but easy access. Very clean, comfortable and had a heatlhy dose of magic to it. Communication with the host was easy, straightforward and clear. Would absolutely rent with them again, and would absolutely rent the same property.

Very clean, plenty supplies and other stuff such as coffee and high quality. Really enjoyed staying in the lovely house. The location of the house is very close to all hikes we were interested in.

Excellent property

Our stay was wonderful. Dennis and his wife were awesome hosts and the property was beautiful. Great location to the tail race and hiking trails and easy on and off major roads to get to local sites. It was great crash pad and lounge around pad.

Cozy, well-equipped cabin located in a great location. Clean, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Friendly hosts, great amenities, and a peaceful vibe. Highly recommend! Dennis & Sherry very welcoming and exceeded our expectations.

Cabin in the woods

Wonderful property. We loved the location for activities in the state park and Palmer. Just a short drive to Anchorage. We had a bear come up on the back deck!

Easy Peasy Woodsy Breezy

Dennis and Sherry really made us feel welcome! After staying in hotels for a couple of days, this VRBO was such a relief! The washer/dryer and kitchen amenities were great! This place was cozy and well located for hiking and recreation! We would absolutely stay here again!

Alaska getaway

Beautiful property, even better than we thought it would be! Decorating is amazing, beds and pillows were so comfortable, lovely decks with serene views. We used this as our home away from home to take in Alaska from Seward to Denali. Dennis was very accommodating and made check in, the 12 day stay and check out so easy

Better than the photos!

We had a very comfortable stay here! It is so nice, even better than the photos. The hosts are great and take care of the unit themselves. Beds were amazing, the kitchen had everything we needed. The heated floor in the main bathroom is such nice feature! We felt safe and comfy... this made a great home base for us to explore Alaska!

Proposal in winter wonderland

Surprise proposal, unexpected surprise. My now fiancé and I stayed in this wonderful home. So peaceful and quiet, with amazing location. Homemade jam and champagne awaited us. We loved it.

We had a great stay at Tailrace. The beds are super comfortable and the kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with anything we could have needed for coffee, cooking, and baking. We were welcomed with fresh bread from Sherry which was greatly appreciated. Palmer is a neat little town-- we enjoyed excellent coffee at Alauda Coffee House in the upstairs of Poppy Lane, which had great gift and souvenir shopping, and a tasty lunch at Turkey Red. It was an easy drive from the house back down to Anchorage and to stunning hikes in the Chugach, Hatcher Pass, and along the Knik River. The house is a duplex and this listing is for one of the units (which wasn't clear to us when we made our reservation.) The other unit seems to have long-term renters who were very nice the few times we saw them and the rental still feels very private, but as two women who both often travel alone we did want to note this info for other potential renters.

Beautiful location

I was told to stay outside Anchorage for my Alaskan adventuring with my son - to get outside the city, closer to the raw land, and boy was that the right decision to make. This VRBO is right at the base of a mountain and pretty close to a river, a lovely setting. The inside of the home was fantastic and met all our needs. It's adjacent to another rental location which might have been good to know but that worked out just fine. Wifi info is mentioned on the first page of the blue journal book on the kitchen counter. If we ever visit again I'll be sure to see if this place is available again.

Artistic, Classy, Away From It All Option

One of the nicest VRBO stays I’ve ever had: New. Modern. Clean. So much great art. Washer and dryer. Quiet surroundings. Fresh bread and marmalade jam. This was a perfect location (north of Anchorage) and option for a group of two couples looking to see authentic Alaska for a few days before hopping on a cruise ship in Whittier (just south of Anchorage). Dennis’s place was a thousand times better than paying for two overpriced hotel rooms in the middle of town in Anchorage. Coming from the lower 48 means late arrivals in the dark at the end of a long travel day, and the check-in process couldn’t have been easier for us weary travelers. Highly recommend!

Dennis, thank you for all you did for us. You were a gracious host. The cabin was clean and beautiful. The beds were very comfortable and the blackout blinds worked very well with the midnight sun. Your location to Palmer and Wasilla was very convenient. And having the brochures of activities of the area was amazing. We were able to go to the reindeer farm which enabled us to created great memories. We also were able to find gluten free restaurants in the area.The cabin was so inviting when we returned from our outings. All we wanted to do is turned on the fireplace and curl up on the sofa to relax. It was very peaceful and all we heard was nature all around us. I would recommend your cabin to anyone. It was the cherry on top that provided us an amazing experience of Alaska.Thank you,Ruben and Maria
