When your husband booked our home, I did message him and told him I would certainly not drive our Harley on either Walkenbach or Canoe and encouraged him to cancel the reservation if you would be trying to take bikes into the property. I messaged him twice on this matter. Please review the messages I sent in the VRBO app and update your review. We pride ourselves in a 5 star experience and am glad that our neighbor was able to help you with your bikes. We have great neighbors!

We are very happy that overall you found your stay “nice,” “beautiful, and relaxing.” And couldn’t be more unhappy you did not have the best hot tub experience. After receiving photos of a hair and leaf, I did advise that the water may need skimmed and you may want to add a bit more due to evaporation (hose right at tub.) Debris settles in a hottub and when it’s turned on, sometimes it comes to the top and will then make it to filter. However, it can also be skimmed out quickly with the net. Your message that evening said all was good so I assumed you got the skimming part down. The next morning in the light (after having the top off and usage the night before) there was debris again. This is, unfortunately, what happens with pools and hot tubs, especially when in a forest area…they do require running the jets and skimming between uses. Upon your insistence something was definitely wrong, I asked my daughter and son-in-law to make a trip out to the lake to skim it for you and make sure it was running properly. They FaceTimed me during the entire trip so I was aware you were present but did not come out. We were also made aware there was a dog present which was not included in your reservation. I do appreciate you paying the pet fee when it was brought to your attention. My SIL skimmed the hot tub and checked the filter. All was well. The hot tub was not filthy and they removed one bug and some seeds that had fallen from the tree. Most hosts would not have provided that service but I wanted to ensure the hot tub was working correctly. And it was. It’s unfortunate the experience didn’t meet your expectations. We always strive to offer the highest level of customer service and pride ourselves in the cleanliness of our lake home. I’m glad you found our retreat beautiful and relaxing and am sincerely bummed you were unable to fully enjoy your stay. One of our favorite features is the hot tub as well, and we use it regularly when there. Winter is the best!
