Well worth it

House is a bit dated, but extremely clean. Property owner was extremely responsive with any needs/questions I had. No issues.

Relaxing

Property is just a described and so very close to the beach. Sunrises are amazing, beach impeccably clean, and bike rides were fun as well. Can walk to many places if you wish or just a short ride by car. Would definitely stay here again!

Our favorite so far!

We come to LBI every year and we try out different listings. This is by far our favorite and we will definitely be back. Communication with the owner was good and he responded quickly. The house was bigger than we anticipated and there were lots of items in the garage for us to use for the beach, so we didn't have to bring so much with us. It was a great entrance for the beach. The kids loved the little window in the loft that looked into the living room it was like a clubhouse. Thank you!

Great house, great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was beautiful and well kept. John our host was communicative throughout the process and made everything easy as this was our first time booking through Vrbo. 10/10 would stay again!

Great location and setting

Very comfortable house, (Love the sectional!) and well appointed kitchen, but you might want to take your favorite sauté pan if you are cooking! Lol…there are dozens of games and puzzles. The garage has lots of bikes of different sizes, and many beach chairs. A cart is available to get everything to the beautiful beach! Bring your own umbrellas. The deck has furniture and an umbrella for relaxing! Great location on LBI!

We really enjoyed our stay at your beautiful home. You provided a lot of ammenties, but you need to provide pot holders and more kitchen towels. You only had one kitchen towel to take out stuff from the oven, luckily I brought a kitchen towel too or if you don't provide, you should specify it on the listing. That is the only negative thing I can say about your beautiful home which I hope we can rent again! Thank you for letting us rent your home and have a nice summer!

The check in process was smooth, the house was clean and bright and spacious. 2 min walk to the beach! Loved the house and the location, the host was friendly and quick to respond to any questions we had. We will be back!!!

Truly comfortable and great locale

This comfortable property is a close walk to a lovely long and wide beach. The owner has left plenty of beach equipment and numerous bikes. There is a street next to the house which is very safe for riding bikes adn walking. The house itself is clean and easily serves 8 people like is posted. The kitchen ware is modest and plain but enough. Though it says to bring linens which we did, we feel the message could be more clear about dish towels. Small detail. We had to buy them. Beach Haven has a ton to do and we found the restaurants very good. The check in was a snap and the owner timely in his responses. We would easly stay here again and bring dish towels!! Thanks for a great stay. lso the house is replete with board games. We used almost every one of them!

Clean, close to the beach- just as advertised

Had a great stay...loved the proximity to the beach and the place feels very private (surrounded by cedar trees). We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Fantastic Beach Vacation!

We have stayed in LBI the past three summers and this is by far the best house we've stayed in. There was tons of room and everything we needed, but most importantly the location could not be beat. It was steps away from the beach and a quick walk or drive to most things you could want on the island. The owner was very responsive to questions/concerns. My only two complaints, neither of which is a big deal: the house is on the corner of Beach Ave., which is a busier road, and the master bedroom faces that way. Even with windows closed and air conditioner on, I was often awakened by teenagers biking/yelling in the middle of the night. Also, the laundry is in the garage, which is down a flight of stairs and only accessible by going outside, which was slightly inconvenient but not a huge deal. Overall we loved this place and hope to be back in the future!

Ladies Week

We had a great experience at John’s place in LBI. It’s a short walk to the beach and there was plenty of room to sleep 6 retired ladies and enough seating at the kitchen table and comfy couch to hang. The only comment would be the deck furniture was a bit uncomfortable but other than that we had no complaints. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

End of summer vacation

We had a really fun time despite corona virus. Very convenient walk to beach. Enough space to fit 7 adults comfortably. A little disappointed with available kitchen utensils. Not enough serving spoons, steak knives. No cookie sheets, or very surprised no hot pads. I’m sure John will add these things though because he was very accommodating. In addition to Linens, I didn’t realize you need to bring basically all your own bathing towels and hand towels. Wasn’t sure I saw this listed anywhere But I was able to ask Owner anything and I just didn’t think of that. I assumed you bring your own beach towels and others would be supplied but we’ve never rented at Jersey shore before so this may be typical. We managed fine. They had several beach chairs and beach cart which was very helpful. They have bikes but a lot of the tires were flat and we had trouble trying to pump them up so wasn’t able to use them. Deck right off kitchen was nice to have outside dinners and cook using convenient Gas propane grill. Nice quiet street too.

Excellent location, quiet street. 2 minute walk to Nardi’s and the beach! Upstairs loft was perfect for our group. Great communication with owner. Would definitely rent again.

This is the place you want to rent

We rented this house for a week and we had a fantastic stay. A very short walk to the beach, great neighborhood, board games, beach badges, a garage full of bikes and all kinds of goodies for the beach (boogie boards, beach chairs, sand toys etc.). The house has a great layout with a loft for the kids upstairs and two nice sized bedrooms on the first floor. The owner was responsive and professional. We would most certainly stay again!

Excellent vacation spot!

The house was spotless when we arrived. Great location, literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. The fact that we could use the garage as storing space was nice, so we didn't have to leave the beach cart outside in the rain. John was very responsive when we had an issue. Two minute drive to the ACME grocery store. We only had 2 adults and 2 kids, but would accommodate 4 adults and 4 kids. The kids loved the loft upstairs! We would definitely rent this house again.

Dirty house, air conditioning not working, refrig-freezer going on and off throughout our stay.

My husband and I rented this house for 14 days for family vacation with our children and grandchildren (8 people). On arrival we found -- Filthy bathroom floors, (both) - dirty kitchen countertops, sliding doors and microwave. I immediately called the owner to report that cleaning people had not been there. He told me on a Saturday it would probably not be possible to get them back. WE cleaned the house ourselves. Air conditioning was not working. When we arrived, it registered 79 degrees, so we set it to 71, but system kept blowing warm air and registering 79-83 degrees for the entire weekend. I requested repair, but service did not come until Monday, when they “tweaked” something and left. AC worked well for four days, then same hot air again for three days over the second weekend. More promises from owner, but no relief until late Monday. Owner promised every day that new HVAC would be installed, but that never happened. Quickly we realized the freezer and refrigerator were not working. It is in “Auto Defrost” (?) we were told by the owner. No solution. “Auto Defrost” happened three times during our stay defrosting the freezer foods. Service came during the second week of our stay, and told us to not keep settingon “Hi” and left. At medium setting, the freezer defrosted again, so we raised it back to the highest power, the only way it would work till next breakdown. I needed to call or email the owner almost every day, and he basically called me a liar, constantly questioned my complaints -- since he said no one else had complained. Eight family members experienced what I describe. I also reported the issues to Home Away on July 21 and August 1. They reviewed my complaints and photos and sent me a partial refund of their service fee. VRBO was very professional and considerate. Owner accused me of trying to get money from him. I believe he should have refunded 4-5 days of the rent, since he did not deliver basic services of contract -- AC, refrigeration and clean house for at least one third of the days of our stay of 14 days and as VRBO suggested, we did try to negotiate that. (Last phone call he was yelling at me) In the end, his offer was unfair and not representative of breech of his contract, so I did not accept the small refund he offered. Safety issue: an open window in the wall in the cathedral ceiling from the upstairs loft right next to children's top bunk bed where they could fall 15 ft/ playing around.

The loft upstairs is private , and the kids feel removed , with privacy . House overall was great!! Supplying bikes and outdoor chairs etc was a real bonus !!
