Great Location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Two families with four children aged 4 and under had a great experience at this rental home. You can't beat the price and location for being able to go back and forth to the beach while dealing with naptimes! If you do stay with littles, bring a playpen as we couldn't get the gates we brought to fit the stairs and they are definitely dangerous for crawling babies and toddlers.

We loved this house - better than we were expecting! The house was so cozy and comfortable, so close to the beach, and close to everything you could need.

Area was nice and fit the family well. Not sure why but I feel like the keypad lock should be on front of door as well as the rear. Made it an inconvenience to manually lock the front porch door and then have to exit out the rear door especially at night.

We enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the busy activity of walkers, runners and bicyclists. We enjoyed walking to the Washington Park Zoo (3/4 of a mile away). It was great to have use of a washer and dryer. The wagons in the basement were a huge help to load our beach stuff and pull them to the beach (which is approximately 3 blocks away). It was very accommodating for our group and the half baths on each floor were helpful. We did have an issue the first night and had to call the property maintenance for assistance (after 10pm) when we were not able to lock the front door. It was simple after we received direction; however, it may be helpful for maintenance if the directions were listed on the wall next to the front door. Overall, we had an amazing 4 nights and the weather was beautiful.

Best location!

We have been visiting Lake Michigan from Kansas City for many years and this property is the best location we’ve ever had. It is a wonderful property with everything you could need and want. Only one of our 4 kids was able to accompany us, but we look forward to renting again when all of our kids and their partners can accompany us.

Nest Review

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time. Brought our 2 daughters and their families. Plenty of room for everyone. The older kids loved the bunk beds. We were able to go to the beach every day. The amenities (games, cookware, dishware) in the house met all our needs. We also were able to use the deck everyday as the weather was very good. The deck looks out on the street, but there is very little traffic.Another plus for the property was that the playground was just a few minutes away.

Great for a Girl's Trip

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved staying at this home. Everything was so clean and organized while still feeling homey. As 6 moms who took a vacation without our kids the house had the perfect vibes for a girls trip and it was so fun to spend a long weekend here. The kitchen was easy to use and accessible, and the beach items they had to use really came in handy. The one block walk to the beach made it easy to come and go. Highly recommend!

Stuff

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Way too much "stuff" in this house on all the surfaces and nowhere to put anything. Had to clear off kitchen counters of :stuff".

Perfect for a quick family get away! Fun spaces, great kitchen and grill supplies, very short walk to beach, plenty of bathrooms and laundry was great. Games and indoor fun as well. We will rent again if going back to Michigan City! Receipt of deposit took a little longer than anticipated, but might have been unclear expectations on my part. Great property and fun stay!

8/10 Buena

Nice home - with a few caveats.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in this home before (and would again). It's in a great location and is well appointed. For the price, there's a lot of deferred maintenance. The raised deck (which is really the only outdoor space), is terrible. It has screws popping up, spongy, rotted wood, etc.The HVAC also needs significant work. If you set the main level at 74 degrees, the lower level will be 62. This is problematic because three of the four bedrooms are in the lower level. To make matters worse, the HVAC unit failed during our stay so it got hot and humid for about 36 hours. The management team did get that taken care of pretty quickly. Lastly, a couple of the faucets are loose in their sinks, toilets that run or don't flush property unless you take the lid off, etc.I guess what I'm saying is, for nearly $7K, I expect a property to be better taken care of. Still, we'll return because the home meets our needs, the nearby beach is great and it has ample parking. We're hopeful these items get addressed before next year.
