This was not the closest place for our daughter’s move-in at Liberty University, but it was such a lovely, peaceful place to stay. We hope to come back for future events and visits.

The property was beautiful! The place was clean, spacious, private and it was so fun waking up to the cows and goats just outside. It's close to main street and the highways. We even got to meet the owner and feed the animals treats. We will rebook here when we visit again. Thank you Ron!

We had a great stay! Quiet and relaxing. Were able to feed apples to the Highland Cattle with the host, which I really enjoyed. Ron (host) was very friendly and made sure that we felt at home and had everything that we needed. 10/10 great experience!

Our stay at Bear Mountain was truly peaceful and refreshing. The friendly animals, especially the sweet and loving beagle, made us feel right at home. We enjoyed the incredible view of the mountains each day, which added to the overall relaxing atmosphere. The only drawback was the poor internet and cell reception, but in a way, it helped us disconnect and fully enjoy the quiet countryside.

This place is wonderful - if you're looking for a beautiful, peaceful, pastoral setting with amazing fresh air and gorgeous natural surroundings, this is it! It's a quick trip to Sweet Briar College and also a fairly short drive to Amherst. Great for two couples or a small family.Three of us were there for a family reunion near Amherst and quite busy with that, so didn't have time to try the nice-looking hot tub or walk the trail on the property, but we will do those things next time. The beds were comfy and linens were fresh and clean. The kitchen was adequately equipped - coffee, coffee maker, creamer and sugar were supplied. Everything we needed was there.Ronald is so quick to respond to questions - I even messaged him at 10:30 p.m. and he answered right away with the info I needed. I will most definitely be back - this is a breathtakingly beautiful part of Virginia!
