Enjoy the quiet and peacefulness of Selkirk Island in this family friendly waterfront Colorado River house for up to 6 guests. Let your troubles slip away as you take in daily unbeatable sunsets from the balconies and upper pier deck. Coffee from the balcony and afternoon drinks under the palapa are the perfect ways to start and end your day while watching boats… and the occasional barge… parade by. You can enjoy night fishing under the lights and summertime crabbing from the pier just steps from the back door. The Colorado River is the perfect spot for summertime boating and water sports, and the community boat ramp is just down the street. Guests can utilize the pier ladder to enjoy swimming with lifejackets in the river. Those who are not into water sports can lounge under the palapa while enjoying watching everyone else splash and cruise by. A full kitchen and multiple outdoor BBQ pits offer a range of cooking opportunities. This property offers an abundance of room for outdoor gaming including a plenty of grassy areas and concrete driveway space. This gorgeous home is elevated allowing for perfect views of the river with plenty of concrete area below, including a large screened in outdoor living space. The house includes a master bedroom with a king bed and en suite bathroom. Bedrooms two (king bed) and three (queen bed with twin and trundle) share a Jack and Jill bathroom with additional hallway access. The kitchen includes both a Keurig and traditional coffee pot along with a gas stove and oven, and a multitude of pots and pans. Selkirk Island is a quiet and secluded neighborhood making it great for taking walks or biking during your stay. Don’t miss out on the local seafood and be sure to spend some time in the historic town of Matagorda just 10 minutes away. If the beach is your happy place, you are only a 15 minute drive from the Matagorda Beach entrances. This home away from home is the perfect spot to help all your stresses melt away.

Annual Fishing Trip

This is our second time staying here. Same excellent experience we had last summer! Perfect location, great access to the river and Bay by boat.

Relaxation Location

This spot was a breath of fresh air! We had a wonderfully time fishing and just enjoying the view. Definitely would recommend and look forward to visiting again.

We had such a relaxing enjoyable week here! The home is beautiful and the neighborhood is so peaceful and quiet. We have been coming to Matagorda for several years and this is the best place we have ever stayed. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and large and spacious. The fishing is easy and fun. The excitement comes from never knowing what will be on your hook. We caught red and black drum, flounder, croaker, sea trout, alligator gar, lady fish, gaft top and hardhead saltwater catfish. We also used a trap to catch blue crabs. Most everything was not legal size but so much fun to catch and release.

This is the second time for us to stay in this lovely home. The neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful. The home is designer beautiful with lots of room for gatherings or individual activities. The outdoor areas are perfect for bird watching or early morning coffee. The screened in outdoor area is great and mosquito free. We spent a week here and fished when it wasn’t raining (rain in mid July in Texas??) We took the short drive to the beach and did some shopping in Palacios (Pirate Queen) and also in Bay City. Enjoyed an excellent meal at Snappers at their new location. There are several great bait shops in the Matagorda area as well. We enjoy cooking family meals together so the huge kitchen is a bonus. This home is a real treasure. We have already booked a third trip in October.
