House was beautiful, with a really comfortable back porch situated among the trees, that created a really relaxing atmosphere. Only complaint is that the listing is slightly inaccurate, and it would have affected our booking, if we'd known ahead of time. The listing says 1 bedroom with a king, 1 bedroom with a queen, and 1 bedroom with 2 queens and a twin bunkbed. In reality, one bedroom had a queen-sized bunk bed, which just isn't comfortable for 2 adults, so I had to sleep on the couch instead. Otherwise, it was a perfect stay.

Came down for a weekend fishing tournament. It was a nice place. Suited our needs perfectly. The garage play room was a hit. Very conveniently located between parkway marina and the state park. Conveniently located close to a gas station and an awesome pizza place.

Adorable house, loved the gated back deck for our dog! Great location. Close to both the state park and golf and restaurants at Mariner’s Landing. Would highly recommend and wouldlove to stay there again when we come back to visit family.

When you first open the front door the view down the hallway is amazing!, was one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed!

Nice location

Quiet and friendly neighborhood. Cozy house. The back deck is gated which made it a great place to sit with our dogs.

Peaceful and relaxing

Beautiful and cute cottage. Perfect little weekend getaway. Paddleboat was broken when we got there, but still enjoyed the lake beauty.

Easy booking and check in. Property had games and kayaks that we all enjoyed.

Relaxing experience with fun extras. Beautiful lake with clean water. Fun fishing and kayaking. We enjoyed s’mores at the fire pit and the mini pool table in the garage.

Great location!

Perfect house for our family of 5 and dog. The deck is shaded perfectly. The dock and cove are safe for relaxing on boards or floats. The 2 kayaks were great to have for exploring the lake. The house itself was cozy without feeling small. Lots of supplies for preparing meals at the house.

Excellent rental on the lake

The house was exactly as pictured and described in the rental listing. Beautiful neighborhood located on a quiet cove with a fenced area for pets and gazebo on the dock. 5 stars for sure!

Overall Great Stay

The house was great! Wasn’t thrilled about having to take sheets and towels for the stay, that’s a lot of extra baggage for a family of 4. But, loved the property....will definitely stay there again!

Perfect getaway

This house is a perfect getaway if you want to be active and use the lake or simply relax on the deck. It is so dog friendly with the dog yard - my dog and I played out there a ton! We were able to cook our meals and just hang out on the deck and enjoy the views. The state park entrance is around the corner and we enjoyed hiking in the mornings. Great house!

We had a WONDERFUL week! Pretty much slept late, spent the day paddling around on our boards and kayak with the dogs, swimming, hiking, ate dinner, took the boards and kayak back out to get pictures of sunsets and the moon (and lunar eclipse!). No laptop, no traffic, no bosses, no employees, no lawn to mow, nothing but sun, woods, water and relaxation. The house was PERFECT for us. Dog run with a nice, high fence. Beach access to the water. We even had a low enough forest fire risk rating, that we could have a small fire in the fire pit and roasted marshmallows one night. I had read that the lake levels were super low, so we brought our own inflatable “floating dock”, with a dog access ramp, that we tied to the main dock and anchored in the deeper water. Then, we tied our paddle boards and play rafts to the platform. Made a perfect water playground The dogs and humans LOVED it. The local wineries offer some really good wine options. DG Market carries more grocery options than you’d expect. The neighbors are super nice! 2 things to note: 1) The MBR has a king-sized bed, not queen, even though VRBO lists all beds as queens. 2) You cannot get Amazon shipments there, as Amazon sends them via USPS and the USPS will not deliver to the address. So, if you try and order king-sized sheets overnight, they won’t ever show up, lol. But Kohl’s is only an hour’s drive away.

Great lakeside vacation.

Absolutely loved the property. Perfect location. Exactly as described in overview. Best equipped kitchen we have had. Which covers about 5 years of stays at various properties. The only improvement I would recommend is, ditch the paddle boat and replace with kayak or canoe. We would highly recommend this property.

Perfect vacation spot

This place gives you nonstop entertainment from the pool table, tennis table in the garage if you have a rainy day and are stuck inside to the huge variety of books and board games offered inside. Love that you offered life jackets and things to enjoy the water with. Trees provide that much appreciated shade on a sunny day. Kitchen provides everything you could possibly need. And am so thankful it is very pet friendly from the closed in area for them to run, gate on the back deck to the screened in front porch. We will definitely visit again and encourage anyone looking for a relaxing vacation to book here

comfy, cozy fall weekend getaway with friends

Coming from all different directions and converging on Smith Mountain Lake, we all had the same impression of the house and amenities. Perfect for our getaway. We enjoyed the game "room" , took walks, went fishing, enjoyed sitting in the gazebo at the dock, had a fire at the fire pit, played games and ate at the dining room table, put together yummy meals in the bright and sunny kitchen, took a ride to Moneta and visited some shops and hung out in the cozy living room to watch TV. Looking forward to another visit next year !!!

Great place to stay

Started off a bit stressful as we were given the wrong lock box code and it took several calls to reach someone. Issue was fixed promptly at that point. Great location, perfect for dogs, could enter water on small sand beach or jump off the dock. Lots of fun there! Perfect for our pups too. Pups could stay gated with us on the deck when we hung out. Had morning coffee in the dock gazebo and watched the visiting deer. Teens loved game room. Pleasant neighbors too. Fire pit was awesome too-perfect for roasting hot dogs and making smores. Very relaxing and enjoyable place!
