Welcome to Painted Shores Retreat at The Galvestonian — a beautifully updated beachfront sanctuary designed for guests seeking elevated coastal comfort, breathtaking Gulf views, and effortless relaxation.


This professionally decorated luxury condo immediately stands apart with its clean, modern coastal design, no mirrored walls or outdated popcorn ceilings, creating a bright, sophisticated atmosphere throughout. As one of the largest one-bedroom floor plans at The Galvestonian, Unit 1006 offers exceptional space, comfort, and functionality for couples, small families, girls’ trips, or extended beach getaways.


One of the most unique features of this stunning condo is its three private balconies, each overlooking the beautiful Gulf waters and offering incredible sunrise views, evening coastal breezes, and peaceful moments high above East Beach. Natural light pours into every room, creating a warm and inviting retreat from the moment you arrive.


The remodeled bathroom was thoughtfully redesigned with ADA-friendly residential features in mind, including:

Why are guests not allowed to have a thin unobstructive pool float that is not bothering anyone? Yet, you allow a woman in a string thong to parade around small children and their parents. I just don’t get it. We LOVE coming here and are both very considerate of other people around us and their children but don’t understand how a mesh float with a small inflated pillow and small inflated ring around a it was not allowed for us to relax in a HUGE oool that had maybe 8 people in it, mostly small children

Beautiful condo.

We loved the three balconies with railing high chairs that looked over the railing. We enjoyed being up on the 10th floor. The unit is a little more away from the pool area, making it more quiet. It was our 2nd stay in this unit.

A pleasant stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were very pleased with the service and the unit we rented. It is very nicely decorated, it has all the necessary amenities and everything we needed.We had not been to the Galvestonian in a couple of years (we have been coming since 1990, almost every year). We found a new booking system is in place. One of the requirements was upsetting. We requested early check in and were charged 25 dollars for each hour (50 dollars in total, we checked in at 2 pm). I believe this is unreasonable, due to the already high prices for the rental. In all our past visits we were able to check in at noon with no surcharge. Just something for the new administration to consider.

Updated Condo with Great View

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stayed at this unit several times now after renting other units over the years. It's been our favorite for many reasons: nicely updated, well-stocked kitchen, immaculately clean, quiet (you occasionally hear the service elevator or people on the floor above), two balconies with comfortable outdoor furniture, and an amazing view. We also love the living room candles on timers - gives a relaxing ambiance at night. Perhaps more guests have discovered this wonderful unit since during our recent visit there were stains on the rugs and yellow chair, and the tub and sink drains were very slow. Also, this time there was a constant odor from the AC that we've not experienced in the past, and the unit felt very damp/humid upon checking in and throughout our stay, despite ensuring that patio doors were always firmly closed. We notified the front desk of these issues - hope they can be fixed for our next visit. Still, we had a fantastic time enjoying the pool, beach, and perfect proximity to many great restaurants in Galveston.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a wonderful unit and extremely well equipped. The unit was all updated and the furniture was new. I asked for clean towels early one day and they were at the door within 15 minutes. Much different from last year when I called 3 times in one day and no one ever came so that has definitely improved. Love the view from all the units and the close proximity to the beach. There is only one extreme negative and its guest having to wear wrist makes you feel as if you are being singled out from the owners and you have a big Scarlet Letter on your arm (hey I’m a guest). It’s also hard and rough on your arm and it will leave a tan mark if you leave it on while in the sun. This seriously needs to be eliminated. Been coming here since the 80’s and we never had to wear them before. Other than that one thing the complex is beautiful and staff is friendly.

There have been instances where people will use our free parking and walk in the front door and directly out to the pool, picnic area, and beach walkover as if it was public access. Unfortunately, many hotels and condos are having to implement this security feature. Owners and staff also wear wristbands so please don't feel singled out. We hope to see you again soon.

Our week-long stay at The Galvestonian was delightful!Advanced messages about the property, the vast array of amenities, and the guidelines was effective and appreciated. The property management and guest relations folks were welcoming and outstanding!We thoroughly enjoyed this unit because it was perfect for two, with a well-stocked kitchen, a lovely living room, a huge bedroom, and 2 wonderful decks. The TV had all the channels, so we didnt have to stream our services. The amenities of the building included a huge, wonderful pool, towel service (a BIG plus), morning coffee, and wagons for beach-toting supplies. A private beach chair service is available to have chairs & umbrellas placed in front of the condo on the beach. We particularly enjoyed east beach, with no cars allowed on the beach!The management folks are prompt with replies to any and every question and always kindly and professionally. We highly recommend The Galvestonian.
