The room was clean and comfortable. The host was very nice and check in easy. Nice, quiet, rural neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Comfy rustic nook

Nice amenities, space for 2. Relatively quiet get away & slow pace. Beautiful surroundings & great dining. Host was a pleasure to communicate with. We enjoyed great weather during our stay. Affordable & relaxing especially if not on a schedule.

Clean, quiet, off the main path, and tucked back in the Carmel Valley. Cottage is slightly dated and furniture is a bit of a mixed bag, but was mostly functional. Main bed was comfortable, but the second twin was not.

Quiet cozy studio

My wife and I spent 3 nights here, and it was perfect for us. It is a very quiet and cozy studio with good access to the Monterey peninsula, as well as the charming Carmel Valley. We ate breakfast in, so we appreciated the mini-fridge, coffee maker, hot plate and microwave. The basket of treats was nice touch, too. We had a good experience here.

Cozy and convenient location

The directions for finding the VRBO and checking in were very clear and easy to follow. When we arrived the room hadn’t been cleaned (used towels and bedding) between occupants but we were able to use extra linens until Adam had someone come clean while we were out. The guest house is on a lovely and quiet property and has a nice kitchenette and TV with streaming services. We did encounter an abundance of spiders througout our time here. Just something to keep in mind if you have kids or don’t like bugs.

Property is very dated. Host got our date of arrival wrong so the place was not ready for us. They did however come in to clean immediately.The “private” out door space is the back yard of the main house which is very deceiving from the listing.

disappointing

The carpet was stained and smelly. The outdoors area was uninviting -- cluttered yard and dead grass. Most electrical outlets in the unit did not work- had trouble charging devices. The secondary bed had no support. the front door locked, but the door from the main room to back yard area could not be secured. Host Adam was not around. The woman living in main house on the property was pleasant but very elderly and used a walker - she didn't seem equipped to tend to the property. The snacks in the snack basket were mostly expired. This is a funky property that could be charming, but the furnishings are all decades old and the unit need maintenance (paint job and carpet at minimum). First photo below is of the skylight which is encrusted with crud.

Remote. Not Relaxing.

Property as a whole is worn and beat, and the dreary guest house is suitable for sleeping, but not a clean, comfortable space to spend time in. Carpet is stained. Couch is unusable and belongs at a landfill (springs and cushions are shot and you almost sink to the floor). King bed sags in the middle. Bathroom shower and toilet are oddly undersized, and surrounded by numerous cracks and gaps, which goes to the general state of disrepair. I also didn't catch in the listing that there's no kitchen (just a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker), so instead of being able to make breakfast for the week as I'd hoped, I had to go out, which means driving some distance. Ended up spending as little time there as possible. All in all, a motel room on the peninsula would have been a better choice for the same price based on cleanliness, comfort, and proximity.

Quiet stay

The guest house was private and comfortable. It was fun having turkeys roaming the property. Hiking close by. This was my first time visiting. We will definitely return.

Very Peaceful

We loved this place. It was quiet, and the yard is beautiful. We brought our two large dogs, and they also loved it here, especially the proximity to amazing hikes that are an easy walk away. Easy drive to local wineries and restaurants too. We will definitely be back.

Bad Ass Bungalow

Such a quiet, clean bungalow nestled about a mile off Carmel Valley Rd. Enjoyed all the amenities and comfort while attending my best friends wedding on Carmel Beach, which coincidently the woman caretaking the elderly owner was the florist for the wedding. Would definitely stay at this location again and ensure I do bring my own coffee fixings; not that there wasn’t coffee options in the place just I enjoy a better tasting coffee. However, the mini fridge and snacks were the perfect touches to all the comforts of a hotel without the extra price tag for “breaking the seal”. Thank you for comfortable place to relax while in the area for four days and three nights!

Bit of paradise

The guest house was very comfortable. The yards were gorgeous with all the plants and flowers. Our dog loved running in the fenced yard.

Perfect Little Country Get Away

This little guest house is perfect for 2 people and possibly 1 child. The bed is comfortable and the snacks were a nice touch. If I only had one suggestion it would be sweep for spiders, or add some extra weather stripping. There were a lot of spiders, but it is in the country.
