Very cute spot close to things we wanted to see/do. Host was awesome and super responsive. The beds were comfortable and the place had several amenities we appreciate. Would stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Seaside. The property is small, but worked perfectly for us and our dog. Conveniently located - less than 10 minutes to Cannery Row.

Absolutely fabulous location. So close to the beach, Fishermans Wharf, and Cannery Row. Great restaurants and fabulous antique shops. Home was comfortable and quiet.

This location was perfect for getting to all the beautiful places around Monterey. This house is cute, has a great outdoor space and just what we needed to wind down at the end of busy/funfilled days!

Close to Monterey which was convenient. House wasn’t as nice as it looks in the photos, and neighborhood wasn’t great. We had a few issues but good communication with the host.

We’d like to clarify that all of the photos in our listing were taken this year and accurately reflect the property as it is today. Regarding the neighborhood, it’s a safe, working-class community located in a designated green zone — meaning it has a low crime rate. The home is just one block from downtown and only a few blocks from the ocean, offering one of the most convenient and desirable locations in the area. Regarding the issues you experienced during your stay, your only complaints were that you wanted more towels and that you couldn’t find a can opener. We provide four towels out for guest use, with many more stocked in the drawers. A can opener is also provided in the kitchen. We’re always happy to help — a quick message during your stay and we would have been glad to direct you to these items. We take pride in both our home and our hospitality, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify these details for future guests.

There were a bunch of ants in the smaller bedroom on top of the white closet. I placed some traps but there were still some there when we left.

Overall, the visit was not bad but not as high quality as expected. The location is close to Monterey and Carmel and there are many fast food/franchise chains nearby, as well as a grocery store within 10 minutes of the unit. The host was communicative and we were able to check in earlier than expected which was really nice. The highlights of the unit are the kitchen which was updated and the large TV that can connect to Netflix (we had trouble getting it to connect to other apps). There is also an outdoor area with an above ground hot tub.The things that did not meet expectations include the overall quality of the furniture and decor, and the interior of the home had issues such as holes in the wall or unpainted patched holes, a dent in the door, curtain rods that look like they’re about to fall, base board chipping off, and a rusty bathroom light fixture. Also, the surrounding neighborhood is not the nicest in terms of aesthetics, especially when walking around. For the price we expected a slightly higher quality experience in terms of furniture, decor, neighborhood, and comfort, but the stay was okay overall.

I appreciate that you brought a few of these things to my attention privately during your stay — and to clarify, everything you mentioned was addressed promptly afterward. Some of what you noted really comes down to personal taste; our décor and furnishings have received plenty of compliments from other guests, but everyone’s style preferences are different. As for the TV, I did let you know you were welcome to download and sign into any of your own streaming apps in addition to Netflix. And while there are indeed fast food options nearby, there’s also a Michelin-starred restaurant even closer — just depends on what you’re looking for. I’m glad you enjoyed the updated kitchen, large TV, and early check-in, and I wish you all the best in your future travels.

I’m surprised you mentioned not liking the neighborhood. The house is walking distance to the beach and downtown Seaside and a few blocks from Monterey. It is a short drive from Carmel and Pebble Beach where vacation rentals are at least 10 times more expensive.
