We got lost trying to find the property in the dark and our GPS got us more lost. Thedirections from the host had a wrong turn listed so we gave up that night and returned in the daylight. It was much easier to find in the daylight and I wouldnot recommend trying to find the cottage at night. Luckily, we had friends we stayed with that first night, which we still paid for. The listing does mention a water pump that goes on during the day and suggests you go out during the day. We tried taking a nap the first afternoon andthought it was construction going on right outside the cottage. On inspection, it turns out it was the water pump. It starts at 8 am or so until 8 pm, even on the weekends. It was louder than I anticipated for the lovely remote setting. The host reminded me the pump is mentioned in the description, but I did not see any mention in the reviews. The cottage itself is lovely and very clean and located in a remote spot. Not really in the Carmel that I am familiar with, but closer to Jack's Peak in Monterey. So we hadmore driving than we thoughtl we would have.
