The Cairo St Bungalow is a fully furnished space and offers midterm/temporary housing solutions for nurses, professionals, and anyone unable to live in their own home due to repairs, relocation, or insurance claims. This well appointed 2BR, 1BA home accommodates up to 4 guests and is equipped with all essentials for a comfortable stay. Situated in a walkable neighborhood near hospitals and universities, it`s an ideal spot for your temporary needs.

The Cairo St Bungalow is designed for comfort and functionality:
Bedroom 1: Features a full-sized bed, a nightstand, and a versatile desk that can also serve as a makeup table. There`s ample storage in the closet and under the bed.

Bedroom 2: Includes a queen-sized bed with built-in outlets on the headboard for device charging. It also features a comfortable reading chair and ottoman.

Bathroom: Conveniently located with entrances from both the kitchen and Bedroom 2. It features a shower/tub combo, a comfort height toilet, and a vanity with a sink.

Kitchen: Galley-style, equipped with a farmhouse basin sink, refrigerator, gas stove, and stackable washer and dryer. Small appliances include a blender, toaster, and coffee maker.


Dining Room: Features an oak table with seating for six, a corner desk with a monitor for work or study, and a floating bookshelf and small hutch for added functionality and style.

Living Room: Offers a stylish and comfortable setting with a leather couch, cozy reading chair, and a 55-inch smart TV.

Sunroom: A cozy retreat with two comfortable chairs and a table, perfect for enjoying natural light and peaceful moments.

Outdoor Spaces: Guests can enjoy the covered front porch with a swing, the enclosed sunroom, and the partially fenced backyard.

As our guest, you`ll have access to the entire home, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable stay. Please note that the cellar and outdoor storage shed are not accessible to guests.

Host Availability:

We live and work locally, just half a mile from the home, making us readily available if you need assistance during your stay. However, we respect your desire for an independent stay.

Housekeeping:

Ongoing Cleaning Options: Guests can opt for additional cleaning services during their stay, available weekly or biweekly. This service, costing $65 per session, includes laundering sheets and towels, making beds, and cleaning the kitchen, bathroom, and living spaces.

Trash Disposal: Guests are responsible for bagging trash and placing it in the black bin outside the back door. The host will collect this trash every Tuesday for your convenience.

Frisco Heights is a pedestrian and bike friendly neighborhood, and nearby public transport and short drives connect you easily to Springfield`s highlights. Enjoy a short stroll to nearby shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues, all while being part of a warm, welcoming community.

6. Trash Disposal-Bag and place all trash in the designated bins before checkout.
7. Plumbing-Only flush toilet paper. Do not dispose of wipes, hygiene products, grease, or coffee grounds in sinks or toilets.
8. Registered Guests Only- Unauthorized guests will incur a $50 per-person, per-night fee.

2. Booking, Verification & Security Hold

• A $1000 security hold will be placed prior to check-in. This is not a charge or traditional deposit—it’s a temporary pending transaction.
• Guests may choose an optional $40 non-refundable damage waiver for stays up to 10 nights (plus $2 per additional night).
All steps are completed easily and securely through Happy Guest, a website (not an app) that gives you access to house info and local recommendations.

4. Pets
We’re happy to welcome dogs at The Cherry St House, The Cherry St Main Floor, and The Cairo St Bungalow. Unfortunately, The Disco Loft isn’t suited for pets. Up to two dogs are allowed per stay, and a small pet cleaning fee will be added to all reservations that include dogs. All dogs must be house-trained, well-behaved, and never left unattended inside or outside the home. Due to insurance restrictions, the following breeds (and their mixes) are not permitted: Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Chow, Doberman, German Shepherd, Husky, Akita, Great Dane, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro, and similar breeds.
Guests are responsible for any pet-related damage or extra cleaning required after their stay. We recommend selecting the optional $40 damage waiver to help protect against unexpected incidents.

Hi, I’m Dana Mirowski. Originally from Flint, Michigan, I’ve made Springfield, Missouri, my home for the past several years. I hold a degree in Purchasing and Logistics from Arizona State University and studied Hospitality Management at UNLV. Hospitality has always been part of who I am.

Along with my husband, Steve, I co-own Home Away Springfield and Mirowski Inspections, a residential and commercial property inspection company. We have two amazing young adult children and a grand dog—our fluffy and lovable Old English Sheepdog, Winifred.

My love of travel and hiking has given me a deep appreciation for the comfort and care that truly great accommodations can provide. That’s why I’ve poured my heart into creating spaces that are both functional and welcoming, blending modern comfort with a touch of personality. At Home Away Springfield, we pride ourselves on thoughtful details—from unique decor to stocked kitchens and friendly touches like snacks and local recommendations.
