This Custer cabin boasts 1 inviting bedroom. The lovely living room with a cozy futon is perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Guests can stay connected with WiFi and stay warm with heating. We use well filtered water, but it’s not drinkable. Safe to shower, wash dishes. Sometimes has a little iron smell to it, if you are picky type a person: DO NOT book with us!!! If you are going to be unhappy with a water from well, rust residue on the bottom of the toilet or any little things than book in Hilton or something like that. Please do not give us a stress! If you are a simple person who knows what cabin is about and want cozy place for a lowest price, then WELCOME! A peaceful retreat surrounded by nature, this cabin is a great place to call homebase while you're away. We hope you enjoy your stay!

The water definitely smelled like other reviewers have said, but we knew that going in so we’re prepared and fine with it. There was dirty dishes in the cupboard, some broken glass, and a nail sticking out of the floorboards that we fixed with the hammer we happen to have in our car. It was super close to Custer, which was our main reason for picking it. Did appreciate that there was the option to bring our dog as well.

Our family stayed in this cabin for a week and absolutely loved it. We knew what to expect with well water, so not a problem. It was perfect for the four of us. The owner was even nice enough to come by and check on us. We would definitely stay here again if ever in Custer in the future.

Arguably the best place I stayed for the last year of travelling. Previous guest wrote something about water.. lol. It is in wilderness and I know what well water is. Normal smell of iron sometimes, absolutely normal, safe to use in and of course not good to drink like any faucet water. Therefore stores sell drinking water. Overall VERY nice place, super friendly host. Thanks

BEWARE the water smells so bad it will make your sink stick. We had to leave and go to a hotel. THIS SHOULD BE LISTED UPFRONT and candidly, it needs to be checked. It is hard to describe how bad it is. The landlord was friendly during check in, but the place wasn't very clean. We dealt with that, but the smell of the water made it feel unsafe.

It us a well water and it smell little bit sometimes like iron. That’s normal for our county. Absolutely safe for showers, dish washing ext.. It’s safe to use more than city water with chlorine or fluoride in it. . Of course not for drinking. I put that in description. No one ever complain about it except you. You renting a cabin in the woods buddy, You should realize that!!!!!Therefore drinking water exists. You left a mess . No more welcome.

This perfect little cabin was amazing. It is super close to town which made it so convenient for us as to other activities near by. The cabin has everything you need for a quick trip up to the mountain’s. The Host was so kind to help and provide additional towels when needed. We certainly will be booking again when he head back up.

IF YOUR A THINKING OF RENTING THIS CABIN, DONT. READ THESE REVIEWS. THIS HOST TRIED TO CHANGE LOCATIONS ON US TO HIS HOUSE THE NIGHT BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF OUR STAY, WHEN WE REFUSED TO STAY IN HIS HOUSE, HE LIED AND TOLD VRBO THAT HE NO LONGER FELT SAFE AND CANCELED OUR RESERVATION RESULTING IN A LOSS OF OUR MONEY. WE ARE THE ONES WHO NO LONGER FELT SAFE AND IM SURE HE WILL MAKE SOME SMART COMMENT ABOUT ME, FOR THIS REVIEW. THE LANGUAGE BARRIER WAS A CHALLENGE IF YA KNOW WHAT I MEAN. JUST AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A MEMORABLE TIME, BECAUSE THIS WAS THE ONLY ISSUE WE HAD IN THIS WHOLE TOWN.

Diapers you asked me where I am from with negative attitude, after you told me that you have changed your plans and want to refund! Reservation was no cancellation. You threatened me with a voice message to get your refund. I called Vrbo and complained with proof of your voice message. Hosts: do not except this guest! Watch out!!

We couldn’t find the property so were berated by the host over the phone when we finally broke down and called for help. Eventually I unloaded the car while my (21 year old) daughter talked to him again, he chided “how come you the only person that has problems”-she was frustrated enough to ask if he ever thought of “cleaning to toilet in the last 4 years?” It is not “new” nor a “1 bedroom” as there is not a wall separating the bed area. It’s a studio set up. Very dirty-soiled kitchen wash clothes next to and under the sink, stalactites of dust and cobwebs on the fan, hair on the pillowcases (pet hair?), only 3/6 pillows even had pillowcases, one light bulb missing in the bed area fixture, awful rust stains on the toilet, other things we found later. All things that a thorough cleaning would take care of. Oh, not to mention the exposed outlet above the kitchen sink-that and a second outlet were not GFI. He drove by the place the next day and we didn’t bother to speak to him again, just saying everything was ok because I didn’t feel like being scolded or argued with. Plus I knew I couldn’t get a refund when we only booked the night before. I took lots of pics when we moved in showing all this) plus video when we moved out (we didn’t leave it a mess or trash it). After reading poor reviews written by others I presume this will turn into the owner smearing another customer who gave a bad review. Probably have stayed at 15 VRBO and never had an issue. Just clean your place

Not finding a property is your problem. Everyone else does. You could call me. Obviously everyone is guilty except you. Place is immaculate always. If you think some rust signs on the bottom of the bowl is a dirt , than you from a different planet. Because of people like I am very close to rent only from my website. I am really sick of this childish non sense

Worst VRBO ever!

Well water is so bad I stunk for two days after showering once, the bed linen was dirty and there was a bag of trash on the porch. We showered, flipped the covers back on the bed and left. Got hotel room dn the road., The host refuses a refund and laughed about me asking for a two out of three day refund. Saying no refund and good luck getting one. Btw….This is a 10x40ish trailer that’s been divided into two small living quarters. Nothing cozy about it, more like cramped, but it’s the bad water and dirty linen that did us in.

Great place

The last reviewer was a total jerk about this property. It was just fine, and we’ve stayed at many similar places in the past. Accommodations were good. Just two things we’d recommend to the host: First: The linens were clean, just unfortunate material and colors. White is always best, that way nobody can question cleanliness. The last reviewer said they were dirty but they were fine. Just a dark color. Second: Since it is well water (which is fine considering it is a cabin and says so in the listing) it would be a huge blessing if you provided a water cooler. You know, one of those dispensers with the changeable 5 gallon bottles. They’re cheap at Menards, and it would be so convenient for making coffee/baby formula. Also shout out to the tenant next door: we are so sorry for our baby waking a couple times and if it disturbed you! Thank you for being so kind and patient with us.

Never, never rent to people who doesn’t smile. Made a mess, changed all the towels and bed sheets twice, tried to give them the best service I could, instead I’ve got 1 star!! Beyond being not fare! PS. Made noises late night with bikes, left excessive garbage behind! Never again! Beware!
