While this property is amazing in every way...the management staff at Folly's Best was Even More Amazing!I had two very minor issues and after reaching out to them they had Clint come over and resolve them in less than an hour. Unbelievable!The property is gorgeous & every amenity that you might ever need is there.I look forward to my next stay at the Zanzibar!

The house was comfortable and well appointed. I accidently left my phone as we were leaving on our final day. The host responded immediately and got us back into the house so I could retrieve my phone. I greatly appreciate that level of customer service.

Perfect location and the house was pretty much what was expected. Pros: kitchen set up was wonderful, so much kitchen equipment we were amazed. The large windows in the kitchen was wonderful for looking at the ocean and the sun rise while fixing breakfast. Children’s room very cute, great second bathroom as well as the other quest room. Half bathroom is second guest room so that worked ok as well. Porch was very nice, but wish the bushes were trimmed so you could see more of the beach. We even had a mom and baby deer visit us while we were in the lower area of the house. The main bedroom was nice and large with a beautiful bathroom. Now Cons: still a lot of work left to do with this house. One is to make the main bathroom safe. Looks lovely but is a falling hazard and if this were our rental I would be very afraid of liability. Deck needs refurbished, bushes need to be cutback. But all in all, loved our stay, loved the location and loved how you’ve made it very kid friendly.

The communication with the rental company was excellent, the first night we couldn't get the back door to lock, smoke detector in the laundry room chirped all night, and we had ants in the kitchen, they came over the next morning as soon as I called, and fixed everything. The view to the ocean was blocked by shrubbery. The window in the living room is rotten, and has a hole that goes all the way through to the outside, and there is a step up in the bedroom to get to the bed that is hard to see, especially at night.

Communication with the property group was excellent and they handled any issue that came up swiftly. The way you can open up the kitchen windows and hear the ocean is great. Bedrooms are a bit dated but are still comfortable. They should update the listening pictures to show that there is no longer a tv in the outdoor area under the house.

We enjoyed our stay! The private access beach was a big plus! The property was as shown in the listing. The kids did have lots of stubbed toes due to lifting floor boards, long thresholds and some screws sticking up. I understand that is hard to show in a listing. The frequent and clear communication was greatly appreciated.

Great location amazing view. The only thing is the air conditioning will only cool to 20 degrees cooler than the outside temperature. Otherwise it’s a food place

Location was amazing with mere steps to the beach. This end of Folly island isnt nearly as busy which is precisely what I wanted. The deck and clam shell chair were so comfy. The only complaint I have is the luxury kitchen with amazing view…it was SO nice I never went out to eat. Top of the line appliances and amazing view..cant be topped.

Zanzibar has every amenity you could want.

While we had some hickups like not knowing how the range top operated and couldnt stream TV and the air went out the last day we still give it 5 stars because it has everything you could ask for and a beautiful kitchen. Also great beach watching all the surfers was great entertainment. And of course pet friendly!!!!

Great beach house!

Our family LOVED the location, being right on the beach! The view was amazing! They had about everything we would need. There’s a super cool play structure for the kids in the backyard—fun! The house is great, especially the new addition! The remainder of the house is pretty eclectic, some TLC needed but really a great place.

Overall nice place just not private

We loved this house and location. We understood that it was a duplex but did not realize we would share the same porch and access to the beach. Luckily our neighbors were a very nice older couple with a dog that our liked.

Perfect October Weekend

This place is incredible! We have stayed in beach front condos on Folly for past vacations-the location of Zanzibar makes them look far away! No need to pack a cooler or snacks! We had a maintenance issue when we arrive-no internet-but Robin from the rental agency arrived quickly and did not leave until it was resolved. This was our 1st stay at Zanzibar but certainly will not be our last!

Walk right out to the beach! The views and the kitchen were absolutely amazing. We could see and hear the ocean from the kitchen and patio. The sliding doors and windows open up all the way, and expand the space beautifully. We had coffee on the dock and watched surfers and dolphins. Also this part of folly beach is very chill and quiet. The outdoor shower has hot and cold water and is definitely a bonus! We spent most of our time lounging on the patio with the sliding doors wide open. And the wildlife viewing and sunrise/sunset walks were so peaceful. There were also some boogie boards that we had fun on catching some waves !3 bathrooms, with one of them one updated and remodeled beautifully, the other 2 are the original bathrooms. Please note that this is a duplex, with a garden wall dividing the outdoor space and the neighboring porch is elevated, slightly overlooking the porch of this unit. We felt we had enough privacy and our neighbors were very nice. We spent most of our time on the porch and down at the beach and we were very pleased with the beach access. We were very comfortable with the set-up of this divided unit, and would cone stay here again!

Absolutely lovely

We needed a really quick local getaway (from GVL, SC) and wanted to come “home” to Charleston, but wanted to be away from the bustle and just watch nature and surfers. We got just that from Zanzibar. Absolutely charming and comfortable space just a few feet from the sand to watch the waves crash during the day and the clear constellation-filled sky at night. The kitchen and master bath were gorgeous with creature comforts that made us feel super cozy. Our dogs LOVED the house as they could watch the ocean and the birds easily without much of an obstructed view. Thank you for having us! Also, Joe of Cups Saloon down the street was amazing if you’re looking for really delicious food with a creative international twist!

The property overall was great, the location right on the beach was perfect. The playground area was run down and rusted. I wish there were more basic amenities, like dishwashing detergent and more towels. We were a family of 7 and had to reuse towels all week, even with the main bathroom getting soaking wet because there wasn't a shower curtain. The other shower didn't have a shower head at all. Needs updates but otherwise it was a good house.

Love the constant view of the ovean

House was beautiful. If you’re old though, the only chair you can get up from is the kitchen chairs. Even outside. I wanted to take an outside chair from the duplex. Other than that, we had no tv because there was a problem with direct tv access. Made us take advantage of the view more. Most important thing was sunrise access to the ocean. Perfect!!

our family spring break trip

The property was beautiful, location was fantastic. A few appliances were broken and not working. In addition the management company sent a company to fix it and the appliance worker asked if we would let them in to work on the appliances while we were packing up (which I didn't let them because I didn't feel comfortable allowing that). Also, there was a racoon in the laundry room. Lastly, we were provided incorrect door code to gain entry to the property. Two consecutive days the adjoining unit there was furniture movement around 2 am. The property was great and I would love to go to this property again that said I feel that the property management company had some miss steps.
