Casita Location: Bella Vista Casita is located in the Stagecoach Hills of Taos County, New Mexico, within walking distance of the Rio Grande Gorge National Monument and and 20 miles from Taos Ski Valley.

Accommodations: Large one room casita with kitchenette and bath.

Long to get-away, really get-away to a place of peace, quiet and tranquility? Visit Bella Vista Casita. Experience 360 degree views from this hill-top casita. Be wowed by the dark skies of Taos as you sit in the hot tub or on the patios viewing the milky way above.

Open living in a very private, custom, casita with high tongue and groove aspen wood ceilings, thick plaster walls, saltillo Mexican tile floors with in-floor heat, and tumbled travertine kitchenette and bath. Dining and living areas. Huge wood framed picture windows and French doors let in the expansive views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountain range. Large skylight for night sky viewing from comfortable memory foam queen-size bed. Semi-Mexican decor w/very comfortable designated living area. Enjoy outside dining on the patio under the portal (porch). Private carport and entrance.

Elevation: 7,300 feet. Summer: Nights are cool and invigorating and days fresh and comfortable. Double rainbows are a regular occurrence. Winter: super powder in the mountains and very little snow down below. Lots of sun and low humidity year round. Incredible sunsets and sunrises.

Fully stocked kitchenette, toaster, coffee maker, blender, terry cloth robes, indoor dining table and outdoor table and chairs.

World class downhill and cross country skiing and snow shoeing. Best fly fishing. Balloon rides, mountain biking on dirt trails, gorge trail and Taos Mountain trails, galleries, entertainment.

Honeymoon escape

Our hosts were extremely kind and gave us a very sweet card and a bottle of wine upon realizing this was our honeymoon spot. The area is beautiful and is 30 minutes from the heart of Taos, but feels very private and secluded. The property was beautiful and the hosts were kind and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

quiet retreat in the trees

lovely place if you want to get away from it all. quiet place with trees around it (unlike most of Arroyo Hondo) and close enough to Taos for meals and shopping.

This is a beautiful very well kept place! The owners were very polite and attentive to any needs we may have had. We highly recommend this place! We would love to visit Bella Vista if we ever come back to Taos, New Mexico!

Beautiful peaceful getaway. Spacious. Could provide some tea bags and softer towels.... Line drying is great, but so are non crunchy towels!

Gorgeous views

I had the most relaxing stay here. The views are spectacular anytime of day, but i especially loved the sunrise/sunset and the night sky was amazing. Great walks that smell of sage from the property. The bed was comfy and the hosts were lovely. I wholeheartedly recommend.

We really enjoy our stay, great service we have a very peaceful stay, this is a great place if you want to have a little getaway with your partner for just to chill and relax. The raining weather was amazing.

Wonderful stay!

We stayed at the property for 4 nights. Tony and Janelle make the property very welcoming. Beautiful surroundings, wife love it. Enjoyed looking at the sky at night time and having a cup of coffee in the mornings outside in the patio. Would definitely use again when in Taos.

Peaceful with amazing views

Really enjoyed our stay at Bella Vista. The host Janelle and Tony are very nice and left us to ourselves. But were only a text away if anything needed. Beautiful views of both sunrise and sunset. Very quiet and peaceful for a couple. Casita was very clean and comfortable. We highly recommend that you stay there.

Amazing home away from home

Janelle and Tony are incredibly welcoming and make every effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Overlooking the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, their beautiful home is close to hiking, rafting, and fishing opportunities along the Rio Grande gorge but far enough away from Taos so one can experience the gorgeous sunrises, sunsets, and nighttime skies in solitude. The hot tub and landscaping are an added plus. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Amazing Studio!!!

This beautiful studio is in the middle of the most amazing natural setting. The views of the land and the mountains on the background are the most breathtaking I have experienced. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful peaceful setting. Very clean and comfortable!!!

An oasis of tranquility

We loved this place and all of the little touches that made it so special (the owner's touches when building the adobe casita, the teacups, the great linens). The owners are top notch hosts -helpful and unobtrusive. Tony even gave us a tour of their Earthship upon check out. We were able to successfully retreat from the frenetic pace of our lives and fully enjoy the quiet of the land and the stars from the hottub. We are definitely saving this place as a favorite for future Taos trips!

Amazing Views and Amenities

Our stay was amazing - came out here for a birthday weekend and it was more than we could have expected! Janelle and Tony are so welcoming and, if it wasn't during COVID times, would have been really awesome to have a drink with. Very private casita - the patio is very private as well, with plants separating you from the main house. The casita is also stocked with whatever mugs/glasses/utensils/wine openers you might need (and a griddle!) At night when the sky was clear, the stars were amazing. During the day, the view is beautiful - rolling hills in the foreground, mountains in the distance. Can't beat it.

Scenery Can't Be Beat!

This is a lovely, quiet, beautiful, private, peaceful property. If you are looking for some place to get away from it all, this property is it! There are gorgeous mountains and sagebrush. There's a small kitchen area, no burners or oven, but there is a propane grill and microwave. There's also a small refrigerator and some small appliances, a coffee maker and a countertop grill. The WiFi signal was good. There's a TV but we didn't turn it on the whole time we were. There's no AC but there was a box fan, and the temperature was so moderate you didn't need more than the fan. Highly recommended for a serene stay near Taos.

Beautiful get-a-way!

We had a wonderful time staying at this Bella Casita. Our hosts were gracious and welcoming and very interesting people. The Casita was charming, with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. There is a front porch with rocking chairs, a grill for cooking, a table for eating outside, and phenomenal views. We were surrounded by mountains that shifted in color and tone depending on the time of day and the weather. The wind would kick up, and there were a few marvelous thunder storms in which the mountains disappeared and, as the storms moved away, the mountains returned in a veil of mist. Night time viewing showed a sky full of stars and bright and bold moon rises. The place was serene, quiet, secluded, safe, and had very good vibes. We truly enjoyed the week we spent here and would gladly return for another visit. We highly recommend this beautiful, magical little spot for anyone who wants quiet, contemplation, big skies, and a sense of peace and well-being.

Remote Oasis

Staying here was amazing. We loved every minute of it. The road coming in is quite bumpy (washboard dirt road) but it was worth it to get to this beautiful casita. The room itself was very nice, and we enjoyed the big glass windows. The casita was far enough away to feel very private, but close enough in the big desert to feel safe. It was so nice having a hot tub to ourselves every night to watch the stars. The hosts graciously gave us a tour of their Earthship, which was absolutely gorgeous. Their garden was beautiful too. This was a very inspiring stay for me as an artist to get away from big city life. The hosts told us about some local attractions. We walked to Manby Springs from the casita, and that was lovely as well. Thank you so much for the accommodations and tour!

Peaceful Weekend Escape

I cannot say enough about Bella Vista Casita and my hosts for the weekend. The views were spectacular, the casita was cozy and exceptionally clean, and it was clear from the first moment I entered the property that the owners take meticulous care in every detail to ensure guests feel welcome and at home. The casita is located close to Taos proper and near beautiful hiking trails, but also is an escape of its own. The owners are extremely communicative if you have questions or seek area recommendations, but are also respectful of privacy. My only regret is that I did not plan to stay longer. These are hard times for many and a break was much needed. Thank you Janelle and Tony for giving me a peaceful weekend. I would come back in a heartbeat.

A Dream Come True

Tony & Janelle will not be forgotten. They are the utmost perfect host. Friendly, open & delightful. The Casita was Beautiful. However it was outside where the magic takes place, 360° views, starlit nights where we seen 5 shooting stars with the Milky Way Galaxy right above with colors I didn't realize existed in the Starry night.. Taos isn't far away & plenty other destinations to visits, we experienced Thunder & Lightning all around us as we watched through the nights. I'd give Janelle & Tony, a 100 star rating if I could.. However they have billions right over their heads.. We'll definately be staying a time or 2 again. Thank you for your hospitality & most of all your kindness

Taos Casita

My partner and I spent 4 days at Janelle & Tony's lovely casita. It was very nice - clean and inviting and very secluded. They were great hosts and made our stay special. Ww will definitely be rebooking if/when we return to Taos. (hopefully next time the weather will cooperate)

Favorite stay we’ve ever had!!

my mom and I were in Taos for the weekend and got to stay at Janelle and Tony’s sweet Casita. It was one of the best stays we’ve ever had with VRBO! The space was perfect, clean and airy and so much room for the two of us. It was the most quiet location we could have asked for while still being close to town, incredible views of the mountains and lots of outdoor seating for us to sit in the sunshine and read or drink our morning coffee. The bed was super comfortable and the unit was well supplied with everything we needed. Janelle and Tony were incredible hosts and so welcoming — I am already planning my stay to go visit them again! Absolutely loved everything about this experience, if you’re considering staying here… do it!!

Amazing location and Fantastic hosts

We had a great stay! We were able to have so many adventures and return to a little oasis where you can see the stars at night, the thunderstorms in the distance, and mountain landscapes with your coffee. Can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful Retreat

What a relaxing retreat with amazing views. Property had amazing Mountain View’s and very relaxing. Has plenty of outdoor space for enjoying the beautiful outdoors, sunrise/sunsets and stars. Casita is private from owners. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Hot tub is a plus. Property clean. Highly recommend this stay!
