We had a wonderful stay at the General's retreat ! The cottage is charming, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The location is excellent—close to town, local wineries, and beautiful walking trails, making it easy to explore the area. It was the perfect home base for a relaxing getaway. We'd definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area

General’s Retreat is the perfect cozy cottage. While small, it was very comfortable. We enjoyed morning coffee in the screened-in front porch and afternoon wine on the back deck which overlooks an expansive yard. A very quiet and serene spot yet only a couple of blocks from the main street and all of its stores and restaurants. It is also within walking distance of the Festival theater and has easy access to the cycling trail to Niagara Falls (don’t miss the Butterfly Conservatory!). We would certainly stay at the General’s Retreat again.

We truly enjoyed our stay. It is a beautiful cottage that was very well maintained and had all of the amenities we needed. The yard and landscaping really enhanced the stay with the option to sit outside or on the front porch and enjoy the peaceful, natural setting. Very easy walk to wonderful shops and restaurants. Beautiful neighborhood in a picturesque town! Thank you!

My husband and I enjoyed our week long stay, finding it a comfortable place from which to explore the area. It is easily walkable to downtown Niagara on the Lake and its renowned theatres. The backyard deck and garden provided a serene setting. We would enjoy returning down the road.

The location of this property was FANTASTIC! However the property is very old and outdated. Needs a refresh. You are able to walk to all the shops and eateries. Beautiful historic neighborhood. Great for morning and afternoon walks.

Great location, pretty little cottage with a great garden in back. It is small and many utensils etc. are located on high shelves. TV was on small side and "smart" tv didn't give access to networks I subscribe to. These are minor beefs, the overall stay was most enjoyable.

Great location just a few minutes from both the lake and the Main Street. Everything was as described, the check-in with lockbox was fine. The bbq and the big back yard were great

The location cannot be beaten. It is just over two blocks from the heart of Queen St. We wanted to stay close to the shops and restaurants because we wanted to park the car and walk everywhere. This cottage certainly fulfilled those wishes.

Great location. Close to all amenities. Cottage was very clean with a great backyard.The only negative item was the TV, no cable, no netflix and we really wanted to watch the Blu jays game .
