Unwind at Small Town Getaway with a casual rural life. Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located getaway. Take it easy in a small town and walk to art galleries & local restaurants, some including seafood, and drive to beaches etc. It's lively but quiet at the same time! Only an hour's drive to Historic Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, or take the family into Busch Gardens for extra excitement!

Guests will be able to have full access to the house with the exception of the closet by the main door and the shed in the backyard.

Other things to note

Great place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay!! Everything was perfect. We would stay there again and would recommend others to enjoy it as well.

Overall this house met our needs as place for a quick breakfast and an evening landing spot. Very convenient to the quaint town and grocery store.

Great little house within walking distance to Mathews' center. Host was very kind, even left us a Christmas card with a little something inside for our stay. Perfect spot to spend Christmas.

Ideal house for a small family visit. Property was very clean, tidy and comfortable. The kitchen was well provisioned. The hosts were quite gracious. Mathews "downtown" is just a gew steps away.

Great house. We were here for a wedding and it was the perfect place to stay. Only 7 miles from wedding venue ! The house had lots of amenities (coffee,sugar, spices ). Beds were so comfortable !

Mathews visit

House was perfect. 2 adults, 1 child. Very clean and comfortable. Not to mention very affordable. Would definitely stay here again.

Easy check in. Well supplied kitchen. House very clean and comfortable. Like staying at a friend's house. Quiet area even though close to "downtown" Mathews. Lots of towels, blankets if needed.

The home is super convenient and checked all the boxes for what we needed. Our only criticism is the living room furniture is old and not so comfort, and we had to pull in a chair from the kitchen for seating for everyone. The cost is very reasonable, so we weren’t expecting any luxuries.

This was a perfect little getaway spot, 5 minutes from the beach. Mathews is a great little town with fantastic restaurants and people. The home has everything you need and the owner responds quickly to questions. She also owns/operates the Chinese restaurant in town about two minutes away. We tried that as well and it was wonderful! Would definitely recommend both the VRBO home and the restaurant. :)

This was the most lovely air b&b I have ever stayed at. It was cozy and beautifully decorated. There were spices and condiments provided. Everything was thought of. The location was perfect for our needs. We were within walking distance of the grocery store. The host was incredibly easy to work with. I would definitely rent from her again.

Professionally clean. Usual availability of kitchen items. , Dinnerware very good, could use a spatula. Bedding is fine and comfortable as are the bathrooms. Takes experimentation to operate the thermostat. Television is a mystery. Most stations require a subscription, making the TV variety very limited and almost unusable. Listing for a B&B should mention no breakfast served. Local restaurants excellent, and good variety of local shops. Overall, very comfortable and would consider re-use.

Thank you for your review and we appreciate your honesty! We are very sorry for these inconveniences! The thermostat though, should change with the plus and minus buttons as we have set it up to try to make it easy. As for the television, the directions should be in the binder beside the TV stand but we will make it easier in the future for someone to use the television. Regarding the breakfast we will let management know to improve upon this. Thank you again for your honest review!
