The property is so gorgeous and the hosts exceeded our expectations. We will be back in the fall when the stripper bite gets good with Mark Flannigan with Chesapeake Charters.

The cottage was great and the grounds and amenities were as listed. It had everything we needed for a nice visit. I will definitely stay at the cottage again the next time my travels take me to these parts.

The host was wonderful and welcoming! The accommodations were perfect for a girls weekend, spending time socializing, shopping, and enjoying the cozy cottage!! The cottage is very cozy and was decorated for the holidays to make it even more special!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. We have stayed at many rental homes over the years for vacation but my husband and I both agreed this was by far the nicest. The home was beautifully decorated, very clean, and the attention to detail to make their guests comfortable and feel welcome was beyond our expectations as well as our family that joined us on this vacation. Highly recommend staying here!

Gwynn’s Island Festival Band Trip

Absolutely awesome! Everything was exactly as advertised. A truly wonderful experience for everyone. Would definitely stay there again.

One of our favorite VRBOs to stay at! Love the peaceful mornings drinking coffee and looking at the water on the back porch; days tooting around Mathews and Gwynn's Island; evenings after dinner (cooked in the best-outfitted kitchen) sitting around the firepit. The cottage has no right to be as comfortable and homey as it is when it is seriously beautiful, but it manages to be all of the above!

Girls Weekend Getaway

We had a wonderful stay for our girls weekend! The house is the epitome of cozy bay cottage. It is so warm and inviting and has everything you need! The setting is incredibly peaceful and we enjoyed the water views even in the winter weather. The hosts are lovely and very responsive! We can't wait to come back!

Family gathering before wedding

This house was perfect: very clean, clear, friendly and prompt communication, easy access, beautiful waterside location, tastefully decorated, and well-supplied. A great place to settle in for a few days when 800 miles from home. We could not have had a better rental unit to stay in while we attended our son's wedding nearby.

OMG We had such an amazing stay we seriously did not want to leave and go back home. My sister and brother in law held a large wedding for my niece at there house inMathews so we arrived early to help - needless to say we pulled back to this magical house early and often to de-stress and read books on the stunning porches or cast a line from the dock (I caught a croaker!!!!) or take a nap….The amazing spectacle that greeted me the first day was a pair of lovely but fake swans that scared off the geese - the lush green lawn was pristine!!!!! Honestly this was by far the best stay we’ve ever had at a vrbo property - and inside there were many lovely rooms for my non-Mathews family to gather and share and make memories!!!!!! Thank you soooooo very much!!!!!!

We have rented many properties in the Mathews area, and this was by far our best experience. All the comforts of home were found close at hand. The inlet behind the house offered fishing and kayaking opportunities. Our visiting four-year-old grandson caught his first fish! A member of our party inadvertently unplugged the Wi-Fi router, and the host spent a portion of his Saturday evening helping us get the Internet restored, doing so efficiently and cheerfully.The house was very tastefully decorated and comfortable, and the layout was wonderful for our party of four adults, with a visiting youngster, which didn’t come close to using up all of the available space.This is the first time we have recommended a property in Mathews, so we hope that you enjoy your stay should you choose to give it a try,Mark D.

Wow!

Multiple family members said this was the best place we’ve ever stayed. Between the scenery right outside the back side of the house, the proximity to so much to do, and the little activities available right on the property, we were busy the whole time. Stephanie and Ron are wonderful hosts. I cannot say enough good things.

Fantastic!

Stayed the weekend for a wedding last minute. What a wonderful place! I wish we could have stayed longer. They had so many activities and things to do around the place and even included snacks and smores! Their welcome booklet was great with info and suggestions to places around the area. The owners were very responsive and helpful! Would definitely recommend to anyone who is lucky enough to be able to book this!

Weekend Getaway

Our stay was AMAZING! Not only was the house and property amazing but the detail and thought just made this a whole experience. My daughters enjoyed tossing crab pots, making s’mores at the fire pit, and playing corn hole. The local market close by gave us an opportunity to eat pounds of crab legs outside on the patio; I could go on and on about the memories that were made there. We’re all ready to go back !

Family Gathering

The house was perfectly clean with every attention to detail. Anything you might need was there for you from a few drinks to get you started, fully stocked kitchen, basic cooking needs to a whole s'mores set up! A lovely home to entertain in with all that you need to host your guests. Check in was easy and the hosts are there for you should you need anything. The deck and yard are beautiful and well appointed with a grill, lights, lots of seating and cornhole which was used for hours a day by our college kids. Highly recommend this home for your gathering.

Cozy Cool Cottage!

This house was just perfect for our family for a weekend in Mathews! We were there for a family event. The location is so close to town and the cottage is simply adorable. But not adorable in a cutesy kind of way - adorable in a "can I move in here" kind of way. The hosts thought of every detail. The place is impeccably decorated and you will truly want for nothing during your stay. The bathrooms are completely updated, the wrap around porch is fabulous. What more can I say! I am thinking of more reasons to come back!

Lovely home in a lovely location

We thoroughly enjoyed our family getaway in this thoughtfully designed, beautifully decorated and excellently furnished cottage. Waking into the house feels like you have stepped into an issue of Southern Living. The back porch - overlooking the water- was the perfect place for early morning coffee and late afternoon Cornhole spectating. Our adult kids spent hours playing board games on the outside table, and we enjoyed family dinners around the large indoor one. Anything we might have needed was in the kitchen. Our stay in Mathews we'll be remembered as one of the highlights of our summer!

Tranquility with all the Amenities

You don't need to search any further. This is the only place to stay in Mathews. This home has everything you could need when visiting Mathews County.Stephanie and Ron have thought of it all including stuff you didn’t know you would need.This was the first time in a long time to have all my adult children under one roof and we had the most tranquil and memorable visit. The home is appointed in a way that feels like a home away from home. Quality linens, super clean, and exceptional attention to detail. The property is spacious and offers something to occupy guests of all ages. We happened to visit during a tropical storm and that didn't even spoil the visit. The owners came out and took care of the property too. Thank you for opening you lovely home up to us. We will be back very soon to make more memories.

The cottage was beautifully appointed, with lovely furnishings, linens and lots of thoughtful surprises like the fixings for making s’mores, charcoal grill supplies, a tray-full of snacks and some cold drinks in the fridge. The kitchen was equipped with everything imaginable and it all looked brand new.Host, Stephanie, could not have been more helpful and was extremely prompt with all communications.Please go visit this beautiful, welcoming cottage!
