An excellent, clean, pet friendly property in a quiet area of Tybee Island. I got a phone call from the owners a few hours before check in letting me know that there was a leak in the ceiling and that some sheet rock had to be cut away. We weren’t bothered by this at all and appreciated the heads up.

Pictures were exactly what we experienced on site. Clean, comfortable beds, attention to the details of minor necessities of a trip, and we appreciated the ease of check in. We loved our stay here and will book again if available our next trip. Our favorite was the screened in porch off the living room where we enjoyed the peaceful marsh, birds, watching tide come in & out while enjoying our coffee.

It's Time for a Refresh

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Marsh Mellow is conveniently located, but the property is showing age and badly needs a refresh. They recently had a water leak, so there is a large hole in the kitchen ceiling. The cheap laminate flooring is spongy, was dirty, and there is definitely water damage below it by the porch door. There was a pervasive odor of fish in the kitchen when we arrived that they had attempted to mask with some industrial cleaner - so it smelled like fish or a powerful cleaner in the kitchen the whole time we were there. The living room furniture is old and outdated and uncomfortable. The hot tub area is not very welcoming - kind of a dark, cluttered, dirty-feeling area - and we couldn't get the hot tub to function well. The carpet on the stairs is very old and dirty. We were informed that we would get a "starter roll of toilet paper and paper towels", which seems a bit cheap for a fairly expensive rental home. We had a towel rack, shower curtain rod, multiple handles on cabinets, and the microwave handle all fall off or already loose during our stay. The property managers did respond to us and fix some of the easy things, but it's just the general overall condition of the house that needs updating. Fresh paint, furniture, flooring, etc. - everything is just kind of "beat".

Homans Trip

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great overall. Some minor issues were involved with the fan/lights. The cords on a few are rusted in position so that lights and fan strength could not be adjusted.

Great location to North End activites, including Fort Screven and North Beach area. Nice view of the salt marsh. Area downstairs with couches, TV, and hottub is nice for four to six people. If you happen to be bringing kayaks to use, be advised-at low tide there is no water in front of the dock on the back of the property. High tide has plenty of depth, so a six-hour window or so, before to after high tide, to use the dock to shove off and come back. There's also not much water to travel on. Three small land bridges kept us within about 500 yards or so of the house. Great property overall, on a quiet cul-de-sac.

Beautiful Location

Our stay here was a blast! The location was beautiful. It was so nice to wake up to the view which is always my favorite part of staying in a rental like this. There are tons of windows so you can really enjoy it to the full effect, and the house was nice and clean with no issues to speak of. My husband had his fishing trip planned here since we reserved the home! We spent some time exploring the island and touring the local lighthouse and museum, and learning about the history there. We also drove into Savannah and enjoyed doing the same there. We dined at the Pirate House which was built in 1753! The architecture there is unrivaled and made for a great Christmas stroll. I would visit again and again. Thank you Tybee Joy!

Wonderful location, very well appointed.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Marsh Mellow is a great place with everything you will need for a restful weekend. I planned a Golden Girls weekend with 6 friends all over the age of 55. This property was perfect as it is just as you come onto Tybee Island tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. We were able to enjoy our morning coffee on the screened-in back porch which has a view of the Marsh and we got to see herons every morning. The kitchen had anything you could ask for including both a keurig and a regular coffee maker. Their was a small office of the kitchen area which would be great for anyone who needed to work remotely while visiting Tybee. The Master Bedroom was a nice size and had a large bathroom with a shower and a jetted tub. The shower had safety handles which definitely we definitely appreciated and the master closet was huge. The other bedrooms were very comfortable as well. There is a dog park located closeby for your furry friends. You are only a few minutes away from the Crab Shack and you can get to the southern end of the island in just a few minutes. The thing I enjoyed the most about Marsh Mellow was the secluded location. We were able to enjoy the tranquility of the island and still be able to have some fun at Tybee time and take in a sunset at AJ's. I would definitely come again. The property management company was great and provided everything we needed in a timely manner. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend.
